Trying to remember. I think there were five in the home at the time of Aliyah's death. Twins born after that, not sure if there was another after the twins or not? Eight?

Per the article below, twins made 7. But didnt she have child (that was taken away) by a guy she met when she was in Wheeling area? So that would be 8, and then the 9th. Didn't her Aunt say she tried to con her for help with things for baby, but she found out or thought baby had already been taken from her custody? I might be dreaming

Off to bed before I get in trouble.

Hang in there baby girl, justice is on the way

Finally this woman is indicted! May she be found guilty of all charges!

Aliayah's picture was the saddest picture of a child! She was a beautiful little girl.

I hope the children who witnessed this horrible abuse and/or have been silenced out of fear, receive help to recover.

You are right, I remember it too. Nine beautiful innocent children.

And we all know who the witnesses are. LL was a walking disaster. Now her children have to testify in open court about what they saw her do. Wretched woman.

Thank God. Aliyah's face has haunted me for years. There are few things more heartbreaking than seeing a child who had all the light stolen out of her eyes from a person who was supposed to protect and nurture them.

Hard to get much lower than Lena who seemed to unfortunately have the fertility of the average alley cat but unfortunately such cats are usually much much better mothers.

Aliyah's face has haunted me for so long. I am pleased this awful woman will finally face the justice she so well deserves.

Just saw this on my FB feed. I am grateful the time has come.

Since Aliayah disappeared, Bowen said, she visited Lena Lunsford in the Wheeling area once, after Lunsford said she needed money to care for a new baby. Bowen said she found no baby clothes with the dirty laundry and no baby bottles in the cabinets and that believes Lunsford already had lost custody.

She said Lunsford has lost custody of her other children, as well, and that she believes Aliayah's father, Ralph Lunsford, also lost custody of another child.

“In my opinion, Aliayah is a hero,” Bowne said. “She's in Heaven now, but she saved eight other children from having to grow up in the hands of Lena and Ralph Lunsford.”

I'm not usually one for revenge, but I'll make an exception in this case. Poor Aliayah.

I have so many questions:

1. Was it the kids who witnessed the abuse?
2. If so, how and when and why did they disclose the murder?
3. Did any adults witness the murder? If so, when did they disclose it?
4. Why did it take so long for an indictment?

The.mother is a monster. That kid looked just like her, frankly. Except beautiful. It's like she was killing the most beautiful, vulnerable, innocent parts of herself. I agree. Saddest face in the world.

This isn't about revenge. This is about justice for Aliayah and the protection of all her living children.

I was referring to the things beyond justice that I hope happen to him.

I want Revenge AND Justice. She lost custody of the other children long ago, won't ever get them back even if she was somehow found not guilty.

Lena Lunsford and Jerice Hunter ... revenge would be on the nice end of the scale of what I can imagine for them. I'm with you Carbuff.

From your link ML -
Lena Lunsford entered the court room around 9:08 a.m. for her arraignment hearing.

Lunsford denied the offer to have the indictment read aloud to her by the judge.

The presiding judge then set a few dates for additional hearings in the case. They are as follows:
- June 7th at 9:00 a.m.- Pre-trial Hearing
- June 12th at 9:00 a.m. - Jury Selection
- June 19th at 9:00 a.m. - Trial Start Date

Lunsford's attorney requested dates later in the court term, however, the judge advised that the dates would be set for now, but a continuation could be requested at a later date.

Here is my theory of how the truth came out. Just my opinion, though. Not actual fact, just my theory.

Ralph Lunsford was arrested 8/14/16 and charged with felony 3rd offense domestic assault and misdemeanor destruction of property. He was arraigned 8/15/16, $50K bond, and he remains in jail in Lewis County.

I think he gave Lena up for Aliayah's murder in exchange for a more lenient sentence for himself.

Most of the kids probably didn't see what happened but "knew" because they were also likely smacked upside the head many times themselves. Lena would have threatened them with something more awful to keep the secret.Likely, the older ones corroborated once they were confronted with what Ralph told the investigators.

As far as the indictment, it had to wait for the grand jury.

This little picture, the one we've seen many times, and the one in Janeumayer's and Mountain Lover's avatars, just makes my throat tighten up and my tears start... Oh, how sad, scared, and hurting she looks - and the h*ll of it is, children almost always smile when their pictures are taken, especially if they know their pic is to be taken -- they just do. But she isn't smiling here, at all. What could her days & nights have been like if she couldn't even smile for those few seconds while someone snapped her picture? It just makes me wanna holler and fly into someone's face with my fingernails.

Let justice be done.
