I agree and was thinking the same thing. I remember when Hailey Dunn's brother was removed and we all thought an arrest was imminent. But the more likely reason was because of other things going on in the home.

So it could be a number of things (just speculating): drugs, the condition of the home, the stress the mom is under with her pregnancy and the search for A, etc, etc...

Of course I have my own suspicions but just thinking of legit reasons other children were removed.

I would guess condition of the home. This is trash LE took out of one room in the home. We were told not to bother it . Was told LE bagged this trash outside after throwing it thru a window of the home.

From my perspective, these are the latest events from my end of the block (Homewood)
Wednesday - drained the pond. River lower like they shut it off at the dam. Volunteer searchers still coming through.
Thursday - Still some volunteer searchers coming through. Helicopter flying back and forth most of the day. River level back up.
Friday - Only professional searchers coming through the area with dogs. Divers searching around swing bridge. DHHR picks up children. Mom gets a lawyer.
Saturday - Quiet. NO searchers in the area all day. The call off volunteer searchers.

JMO - They found something Friday, maybe by the swing bridge. Why would they drain the pond and then go a few feet further down the river and dive? Maybe had an idea what they were looking for and where it was? Could they have even found Baby A, removed her from the area and are just not announcing it? IMO, that is possible. LE has been tight-lipped from the first, they seem to like to keep things around here and handle it locally, but just could not in this instance. The town is very quiet and frankly, we want that baby found, but we also want our peace and quiet back. If they announce that they have evidence of foul play or they found a body, here comes the media, there goes peace and quiet. Also, small town, everyone knows what goes on. How many people are going to be walking through the areas where the officials have looked. What if they need to go back and gather more evidence? People have gladly let them come through to search, but curiosity seekers wanting to tromp across your yard is not going to go over very well. Arguments will break out or they will be calling and complaining to LE. I think eventually we will find out what happened, but only after things quiet down and there is not so much focus on the town and the case.

I can't imagine that something of value was found, or even the child herself, without a crime scene having been set up, no matter how much they may want to keep media out. They would still have to process the scene and do it right. One would hope.

I have gotten to the point where I am afraid to look at WS for fear I will see the 'found deceased' by little Aliayah's name when I sign on. Then I get furious when I see she has not been found and there is no substantial news.

Where is Baby Aliayah???

Omigoodness! That's a lot of trash! ...could it be so much just because of the number of people living there? (No snark or condescension intended!! I really have no frame of reference since I live alone with my cat now... and even growing up with my parents and brother, we were very into not keeping trash or compost in the house.) TY for the photo. It's interesting that they asked people not to bother it.

Good morning all, and thank you wenc for your invaluable input on this case!

Pardon me if this has been covered upthread, but didn't the family only move to this home around a month ago? I can't help but wonder if the move may have been precipitated by events surrounding Aliayah's disappearance. Do any of you locals know whether LE has searched at or about the Lunsfords' previous address?

Checking in on Baby A. Doesn't look like any active searches yesterday (Saturday) and this was after LE stated there would be fresh eyes/feet on the ground on the weekend searching.

Reporting has folded into the woodwork for the weekend with the exception of reporting that the remaining children were removed from the home on Friday night and mother has obtained a lawyer.

Am really beginning to wonder if the search area by the professionals has moved to another location while everyone is still focusing on Weston.

The silence is unnerving meaning the baby is still missing and there is no word on what is happening to find her. Deafening silence .......... can hear the crickets.

Is the "trash" being saved for potential evidence?

This is what I was wondering, too! Based only on the pictures, though, it doesn't seem to be very protected, but I did think it was interesting that people were asked not to bother it.

I just think they were probably told that so they did not waste their time looking in it.

The way I see it, the SAR folks did their job during the first several days. They proved that the initial scenario of the child possibly wandering off is statistically unlikely. At the point where that was proven, I'm guessing the FBI either knows something more specific or just assumes, and sends the volunteer searchers home. With the coverage that happened through mid-week, any areas that have yet to be searched are unsafe or unauthorized for untrained volunteers. We're talking waterways, private property (a lot of the houses in the area have open crawlspaces), etc.

I'm very curious about the swing bridge area. I have yet to see it defined. It is described as right next to HK castings. With the pond being drained (was it confirmed that that is the pond next to HK?) and the scrutiny of HK and Custom, I'd really like to see a clear definition. Is it the small line that crosses the river on Google Maps just 200 ft or so north of HK Castings' property near the top right of this map?

The garbage not being protected in a small town, that doesn't want media around... yet, ask that people not bother it.... I take as the LE are protecting it ..I'd like to hear what the locals think about this...

The LE are the ones that took it out of the house and bagged it. So I would assume they saved anything or took pics ect of useful value. I know later that day it went into a big orange dumpster in the church parking lot. I think we were asked not to bother it cuz we would have to go on to the property technically( and we were told not to go on property from day one) to do so and they didnt want trash strewn about. I think the trash just had to be out of the house so LE could do a good search.

No recent pics really gets to me.You can pick up a $20.00 camera and have pics made for .10 cents yet she has money for cigarettes. No one else in her family has pictures either? My grandson comes here every other weekend his looks change he is now 6 but at 2 to 3 yrs kids change so much.IIRC her birthday was in July not even 1 pic was taken even then. How sad.

The lack of pictures really bothers me. It's like this child didn't really exsist. My son had a soccer game on Thursday and I took 3 pics of him before the game even started. My best friend has a lil boy that will be 3 in Feb and a daughter that just turned 1 in Aug, I take pics of them myself at least monthly and I get pics of them from her weekly if not daily. It helps that we both have cells so I'll give the mom that but even my 11 year old buys a disposable camera for important stuff like vacation, school trips, etc and I'm certain if he had a child her 3rd b-day would rate the purchase of a camera.

Why have they took no pics of this child? Is it because she is abused and they don't want that documented? It's hard not to imagine just that, MOO!

No I dont think they were protecting it they just didnt want people on that property. We were told not to go on that property from the very beginning. I took the trash picture Thursday.

um, wow. That is a lot of trash, particularly since the family has only lived there a short while. I have seen lots of times in my neighborhood where people (usually renters) do not have garbage pick up and fill their garage with the garbage til it draws rats. Sometimes you will see people fly dumping it in the alleyways, or otherwise dealing with their garbage by other means than garbage service. But to just accumulate it in the house???? Uggh, I would hate to think of the smell alone after a month.

I wanted to make a comment about the pictures. There are a lot of pictures of me at that age that look very similar to Aliayah's in terms of facial expressionsorbody language. I had a stable home and was adored by my extended and immediate family, tho I was a colicky baby and have tended toward being anxious and depressed for as long as I (and my mom) can remember. There are also a lot of happy pictures of me, but I'm the oldest of 2 kids and the other kid is 8 years younger than I. It seems like the more kids there are, maybe the less time a family would have to take "action" shots of one of the younger kids, when she's happy and laughing. All JMOO, of course.

We know that she turned 3, but I wonder if she had a birthday celebration of any sort? If there was a family party you would think that someone would have snapped a picture of the bday girl. Things just keep adding up to a bad outcome and I pray that my gut feeling will be proven wrong.

I cannot say the lack of photos is telling on its own. My poor youngest, we have several years (very rough financial years) where we have almost no photos of him save those taken by relatives at family gatherings and holidays. Nor does my youngest even have a baby book. It pains me to admit that his arrival was a surprise and we were so focused on keeping a roof over all our heads, we were not taking photos and memorializing each developmental marker.

That said, in combinations with other known facts, the lack of photos becomes a bit worrisome. The lack of photos alone, maybe nothing. Along with other facts, when taken as a whole, is beginning to paint a picture that is concerning.

The look on her face doesn't bother me nearly as much as the sheer lack of photos does. I have 2 boys and both always manage to make the worst faces so I'm used to that (heck I hate having my pic too and always look miserable too) but despite the faces they make I do *have* pics of my kids. If one was to go missing I could provide LE and media with a pic that had been taken within the last week not 10 months ago.
