Good morning, all. I hope that this is Aliayah's day to come home!

I just "watched" the video Lera posted above. It's in quotes because I'm analyzing some videos without audio at work and I usually "watch" stuff online by pulling it up and listening while my work is full screen. :innocent: At the very beginning of the clip, I was struck by how child-like Mom's voice sounded. The contrast with Grandma's voice is huge, IMO. I do wonder if some of the things mentioned in previous posts, such as her eye movements, aren't due to the fact that in a sense (whether she has anything to hide or not) people are asking her to put on a "performance" for the cameras. I don't know how these things work...maybe crew are giving her cues, like to speak up for example or that they have a certain amount of time left? I defer to the more experienced WSers on this. :waitasec:
I did an interview with Stacy at WBOY. She stands to the side of the camera and asks questions, which are not recorded on the video that you see. Tells you to watch her and try to ignore the camera. Which may explain the shifting of eyes.

Is anyone else having trouble getting sound on this video link? I get the picture but the sound cuts out after the story begins and stays out the whole time?

Yes, on my iPad and pc both. The sound cuts out when they go to Leslie, yes?

It says in the artical that the chidren were removered AFTER they were interviewed, I wonder what those children said?? It had to be something very telling JMO

Yesterday someone said ireport is made up of viewer articles. It could be just be the writer's words.

Regarding the iReport, IMO, it's sensationalized and factually incorrect. According to MSM sources, the three possibilities being considered are homicide, abduction and concealment. Homicide is not the same as murder; it's much broader, and leaves open the possibility of many scenarios other than murder.

I think homicide is mostly a law enforcement term. Courts use the terms murder or manslaughter. Don't believe I have ever seen anyone on trial for homicide, it's always murder of some degree, or involuntary manslaughter. LE might arrest someone and charge them with homicide, but that is not a formal indictment.

well, if the press coverage and press conferences thus far in this case are any indication, today will be another day of no news, save for the "lois Lane" reports on unauthorized FB pages by the likes of the commissioner.

:shakehead:

So frustrating.

This is a horrible thing to say but the media interest will probably pick up now that it is a crime. All the past history of the parents will be a draw and sensationalized. I can see the "bombshells" now.

I just re-watched the Mom and grandma video and something hit me. A woman who is pregnant with twins her hormones are high right? If you re-watch notice how she seems like she is forcing the sadness. The way she is talking is just like a person trying to act with no experience would to drum up some emotion.

Now if this mother was totally had no idea where little A was, no way would she be able to hold back being she is pregnant.

Think of someone faking and trying to bring up the tears and concern, as you watch it, you'll see it clearly.

I could be totally wrong but my gut and sense is she is hiding something, knows something, now I don't know if she did it or knows who did and covering for them.

Sorry, I just don't see the same things, it doesn't look fake to me at all. And with just a few seconds of video of mom, how could one possibly judge the level of her emotions? We don't know her or her normal state of mind, so what is the basis for comparison?
Not trying to argue, but five seconds is hardly enough time for me to make a judgement of whether someone is faking something. Sorry.

I think LE/DA are playing the odds that she would likely have turned up by now if she wandered out of her house on her own.

if she was kidnapped - the criminal has a very long head start.

But what is the motive for kidnapping & there's been no call for ransom? They have no $$$ . . . Drugs? To keep them quiet?

Don't like speculation

Please refrain from linking to iReports. The information is submitted by readers and viewers, and as such, we can't be certain of its validity. Thanks.

I'm not well-versed in specifically which terms WV law uses, but actually, there are formal "homicide" charges in some states (negligent homicide, vehicular homicide, etc.).

In this context, where nobody has been charged with anything, I agree it is a law enforcement term meaning "death of a person caused by another" that could encompass anything from a cold-blooded murder to a completely accidental co-sleeping death. That was my entire point. We don't know what happened yet, so the iReport someone linked that claims that the police have attributed Aliayah's disappearance to "murder, abduction or concealment" is false. They said "homicide", not "murder".

Thanking God for the good that has come out of this bad. Little Aliayah has accomplished more in her little life than most do in a lifetime. Can I post this (on my FB) with your wife as the author?

You sure can. This case has really affected her.

County offices are closed today because of the election, so guess where I'll be come 8AM tomorrow.

Thanks Mgorules...hmm and the children aren't in any kind of protective custody I gather.
You don't suppose little A passed in the night and an adult in the household panicked and tried to hide it?

You're welcome! The other four kids were taken into custody late friday night.

It is hard to explain but being I was in some community theater plays and had to go into hysterics and cry on stage, I kind of got that "radar" for lack of better word on the acting part. This is a bad acting job even though she did bring up the sniffles and eyes watery. She is aware people are watching her. Noted by her eyes looking around at people behind the camera. The first part with her not on camera her voice you can tell she was drumming up the tears, then when she is seen on camera she has a stuffy type nose, then the end her eyes watery. Now a pregnant woman with hormones very high, no way could even sit still in my opinion. I wouldn't just be a little sad like she is.

Grandma doesn't have one ounce of sadness. Its as if, she is talking about the news of the day. The daughter even had to press in the end "We want her home" Grandma says "we love her and miss her" (stated matter of factually with no emotion)

Grandma doesn't appear tore up. I'd be a basket case!
Some people are more emotional than others but I don't hear fear and that's a hard emotion to hide. Maybe she's just one of these rock solid people who don't loose it. imo
