A new missing poster, with a new photo of Aliayah is expected to be released next week.

During the news conference, officials also announced that Lunsford family members are not under any kind of a gag order, despite rumors to the contrary.

Another thing... was Aliayah in foster care and had family visitation for Christmas? And did she recently come to live with them?

The media had a gag order, which denied them access to the immediate family, searchers and organizers while the search was taking place. That was the only gag order that was given, and I have confirmed that with two media representatives. That order was given to the media on Wednesday, September 28th when the FBI took over the investigation.

I would really love to know what two media representatives said this. Obviously, they haven't heard of constitutional rights. Freedom of speech is a right, and from the news outlets I have spoke to in the Clarksburg, WV area-they agree.

I don't know what to make about the 'gag order' thing, so I'm not making any conclusions about what it means yet. I think the term 'gag order' is part of common usage in addition to its legal meaning. I don't know that I've heard of a genuine gag order being made during an investigation; I've only heard it during the time leading up to and during trials, after charges are filed against a specific person and there's an actual case making its way through the courts. It seems weird to me to issue a gag order on the media in a case like this, and even inappropriate. I'm not even sure we know the whole story about that.

I can see that a person could think that a gag order on the media applies to them, too, or that they were also under a gag order if someone in LE advised them not to talk to others about the info they gave LE. Again, I don't think we know the whole story here, so I can't really form a strong opinion about this. I think it's another of those side issues that muddies the waters.

I don't really think rewards help all that much overall, but I still think it's great to have one out there in any case, just in case there's someone to whom money talks. If that's what motivates someone to come forward, then it's worth it to offer one.

This is what the FBI said to family members. There was only a gag order on the media, there was never a gag order for the family. LL told the family that everyone was ordered not to talk, including the extended family. This is a lie perpetrated by LL herself. The family was only going by what they were told.

One of the uncles asked the FBI if it was OK to talk on October 24th, and was told there was never a gag order on the family.

Another thing mentioned was that the West Virginia Fusion Center would be hadnling all contacts with the public. It can be reached 24-hours a day at 304-558-4831 and online at http://fusioncenter.wv.gov .

Also mentioned by the FBI was that the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children was working on new posters and materials with more recent photographs of Aliayah.

When asked if the FBI had confiscated all of the most recent photos of Aliayah, Agent Killeen said that they had not. It appears that this was once again one of LL's lies.

And whild being punked by Ashton Kutcher would be FUN~ this is NOT a tv show (or a GAME for that matter) and I agree...

I think we as concerned citizens have a stinkin right to KNOW the truth about this little girl!!! So we start at the beginning-.....(do we even know when a non family member last saw Aliayah?)

-- The FBI announced Thursday that it is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of 3-year-old Aliayah Lunsford.
The reward and other updates in the case were discussed at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said they are still investigating three possibilities in her disappearance: homicide, kidnapping and concealment.

Investigators recently searched 35 acres in the Vadis area of Lewis County and said that search is over. They also said that last weekends snowfall slowed their search.

The Uncle said he had been interviewed, but did not say when it occurred.

Westinlund does raise a valid point IMO. We here at WS, have seen enough cases to know what the signs are. Pretty sure if I went back and looked, we were all scratching our heads by day 2 and by the end of the first week, felt pretty strongly that LL or RL were involved in a cover-up of Aliayah's death.

We don't know what the extended family was told by Lena or even Joann for that matter. I may eat crow later, but with this latest revelation, I'm cutting them some slack. MOO, Quack-Quack and Baaaaaaaa

I'll admit I am a little rusty in the constitutional law area, but don't think a gag order would or even could be issued against the media in this case.

Other items mentioned in the press conference:

The FBI has virtually ruled out that Aliayah had been sold.

50-100 people have been interviewed so far.

35 acres were searched in the Vadis area, and the FBI was not ruling out returning to search the area again.

Because it is now hunting season, the FBI asks that anyone who comes across anything suspicious to mark the site, either physically or by GPS coordinates and report it immediately to the Fusion Center.
