Found Deceased WY - Gabby Petito, Grand Teton National Park #89

Agreed. Rose's claims that Brian exhibited abusive behavior is more believable considering Brian murdered Gabby is far more believable than Rose just making up stories to...make up stories?
Exactly. What would Rose have to gain by changing stories now or making stories up? I don't see her as a publicity hound who sought out the media with her stories. I think the networks approached her because she had a connection to this case. I know that I personally was contacted recently by a producer about my cousin's case, and I've also been contacted by two different judge shows when I filed a small claims case.

Yes @LinasK ….. and I have no idea, but if I found myself in a similar predicament after one of my friends was brutally slain at the hands of another…. I might feel guilt and upset that I wasn’t able to affect the outcome. MOO

Exactly, and as a victim-friendly board I don't see the point of continually questioning why Rose "didn't do something before" or continuing to question her word or painting her in a negative light. The fact is she said what she said, and personally I think what she said holds weight based on the outcome alone.

In retrospect, it looks like Gabby hid some of the abuse from Rose too, and Rose is regretting not seeing the signs that were there. Just like the show Evil Lives Here. "But there were signs..."

Rose is a victim. An involuntary victim, a girl who's friend was murdered horrifically, by the person she loved, it hardly bears thinking on. This focus on Rose is merely to distract from the true criminal in this story, Brian Laundrie, a born killer, a vile and vicious punk with knock knees and pigeon toes, who was lucky enough to be treasured by Gabby .

Agreed 100%.
It's frustrating when the discussion becomes not victim-friendly in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. What happened to Gabby was not her fault. It wasn't because she defended herself by hitting back. It wasn't because he felt belittled by her. It wasn't because they were cooped up in a van together.

It's heartbreaking. I think it's good to talk about these things to learn lessons, raise awareness, and change behaviors. For example, I love what Gabby's family is doing.

But to continually raise such things just to question Rose's credibility or put her in a negative light seems dismissive rather than informative or helpful. That's just my opinion. People can discuss what they want. <modsnip>.😌

Do we know what actual skeletal remains of Brian's were found? I know that he was identified through dental records but was a whole skeleton found?

I was shocked to learn in my research that Brian died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. I swear at the time, it was said to be a hanging. Was that just a rumor or am I remembering incorrectly?

I never once heard that it was by hanging. It was always a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. At least what I've read, which isn't 100% of what's out there. With that said....

His family was informed he shot himself in the head, and his death was ruled a suicide, Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino said

No. Only partial remains were found.

According to the [autopsy] report released Monday, the remains found at the park included a “right and left scapulae, right humerus, right femur, two tibiae, two fibulae, two clavicles, two pelvic bones, the sacrum, one right ulna, one right radius, and multiple ribs” along with “multiple fragments of cranium and skull along with a generally intact mandible with attached teeth and the lower aspect of the maxilla with attached teeth are noted. Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebrae are also located nearby.”

Thank you! I could not find that information for some reason!

I watched the Netflix special on this case and I found it to be very telling. I learned a lot about Brian's controlling ways and you could actually see in unedited clips how things were really unraveling unlike the photos Gabby posted on SM.

I still believe the Moab stop was one-sided against Gabby. She's being sat in the back seat of a police car, while BL is out there yucking it up with the officers and spinning his version of 'oh she's just acting crazy, I try and diffuse the situation', what a master manipulator. The officer who drove BL to the hotel should have been suspended IMO.

Gabby's wounds were more severe than Brian's little scratches which he got when he was driving off in HER van without her. The 911 caller stated clearly he witnessed BL slapping Gabby and then hitting her.

BK's mother had an unhealthy relationship with BL IMO and I think she resented Gabby. :( That burn after reading letter was truly bizzaro.

I thought early on Rose had said GP told her that Brian hears voices sometimes. I noticed that was not in the doc. Did Rose take that back or was it not important enough to the story?

Gabby Petito's father was on Hidden True Crime with Dr. John and Lauren Matthias.
Very interesting.

Another point of view.. .. .. .or... how to make the wrong call.

I’m watching the Netflix doc and getting angry for Gabby all over again. From the Moab police and their condescending attitude and stereotyping of Gabby (the anxiety-ridden female who can’t control her emotions) to the Laundrie parents and their disgusting, callous disregard for Gabby’s family.

I’m glad Gabby’s parents seem to have found some peace and they continue to share Gabby’s story.

Roberta and Chris need to be held responsible or this will happen again. Were they not accessory after the fact?

I’ve wondered the same thing. But I’m guessing prosecutors can’t make anything “stick enough” for the effort they’d put into holding them accountable. That’s no excuse and we know the court of public opinion will crucify them until their dying breath. There’s no law against being morally or ethically bankrupt.
