I agree with this. I didn’t even watch the full video and I immediately saw her as a victim in a bad relationship and him as being narcissistic due to both of their behaviors and body language in the parts of the video I saw.
I have no doubt it was an emotionally abusive relationship because GP blamed herself for everything. That's a huge red flag, imo.

Toxic narcissists never take responsibility for their actions. They gaslight as a form of maintaining control. I doubt GP has ever been diagnosed with OCD by anyone other than BL. JMO

The Spread Creek campground was closed due to the search, according to The Daily Mail. A ranger at the Grand Teton National Park confirmed it was closed but wouldn't say why. An email sent to officials at the national park was not immediately answered.
Gabby Petito search focuses on Grand Teton National Park

Rangers and the FBI are actively searching an area on the east side of Grand Teton National Park for missing van-life girl Gabby Petito, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

As a result of the search, Spread Creek campground is closed as National Park Rangers and the Teton County Sheriff search the area, and the area will remain closed to the public for the next few days.

The Spread Creek site is one of the dispersed camp grounds Petito listed as visiting on her page at thedyrt.com, where she reviewed her journey.

8/29 is what I recall

From reading the article Miranda Baker posted and that has been reported on in MSM, she notes picking him up hitchhiking about 5:30 pm on 8/29 near Coulter Bay in Grand Teton NP (most likely on Highway 287, although she doesn't specify)

5:30 pm on 8/29 is cutting it close to make a drive of 2300 miles back to FL to arrive "on 9/1". Of course, we have no idea when he actually did arrive in FL.

I also think once they're able to grab BL, that he'll talk. We saw in the police cam video that he *never stopped talking*, GP was the one who mostly stayed quiet unless questioned and poked. The only reason he hasn't talked up to this point is his parents and lawyers have kept the police and media away. I bet if you throw him in front of an officer he'll keep talking and won't stop. Will everything be true ? probably not. We'll only hear his point of view. But I bet they'll be able to pick up clues, hints, and half truths.

The mentality Changes. one you've been on the road for some for a few months.

I know i was on the road for several years. with my finance whom I did not marry.

She's still a very good friend of mine.

however things change when you are truly out there, And they are truly out there.

I'm not going to tell the rest of the story because I already know it. I'm sorry

Of course. But I don’t want him to control the whole narrative. And am personally getting caught up with each latest detail on *him* and I want to focus more on the search for *her*. I appreciated the reminder.

I’m not worried. The more attention there is to this case no matter the reason, the more people might keep their eyes peeled or recall certain things. Like the woman who picked up a hitchhiker.

I wonder if the police have searched the storage facility where BL and his father went and cleared it out when he flew home. Did they look at the security footage to see what occurred there? If not, they need to do it now!
I know people have said he wouldn't have driven back here with her body but anything is possible and if so, would he place her there? Could she have been alive for part of the trip he drove back to FL or dead in the back of the van? I think anything is possible in this case.
JMO MOO IMO
I have that feeling too...
The sense I got from watching the videos of her was that she was a person who was being coercively controlled. It was a very strong instinct, almost primal.
Certainly felt to be 'forced', her presentations.
Not natural nor arising organically.

That's what makes it so hard to grasp a sense of what her state was if she accompanied him back home, willingly or otherwise, alive or dead.
It's a very disturbing case.
All of the above is just MOO.

Actually, I've just realised I got confused with threads. The appearance of the 'Active Search' bit made me think this is a new thread solely about the search for Gabby, which is why I made the comment about being confused.

I've just realised this is just a new thread of the Gabby missing discussion. Stupid me, I do apologise. Like many of us, I've been staying up really late to try to keep up with the comments and my head has essentially crashed!

I'm really tired, so am going to head to bed.

Once again, huge apologies.

Oh no need to apologize!!!

Still really weird they would *drive his car back home* if they were worried about his safety. Especially if he had left the house Tuesday, AND they found the car Tuesday, AND didn't say anything to the police until Friday.
This is the most bizarre thing to me too. I can’t get over this part. It just doesn’t make sense. Not that much in this all does, but you know. MOO

I am not saying BL is a well adjusted guy but people stating they see his body language in the body cam footage as certain way, is ridiculous. You can not judge someones character by a short video.

As a Canadian I am confused as to what the perimeters are for the FBI getting involved in a case. Many thanks in advance.

After the incident when LEO’s pulled them over and separated B&G for the night, do we even know for sure that they did meet up the next day? They were told not to text each other that night and to wait till the next morning but I also wonder if they instead contacted each other before the next day.

The last trace of Robert Lowery, a traveler from Texas, was a ping from his cellphone in Jackson on Aug. 23, police told the Jackson Hole News & Guide.

The 46-year-old was seen on video from Aug. 19 at a restaurant at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, and may have taken a ride in a Lyft the following day.

Lowery had never been to the area before, his sister, Leigh Lowery, told the paper, and had recently gotten a sleeping bag and a tent, but had no camping experience.

Before Lowery left his home in Houston, he canceled his mail, Jackson sheriff’s Deputy Chad Sachse told the paper.

In the third case, Cian McLaughlin, 27, was last seen June 8 hiking in the park by a local resident without a backpack. He was reported missing four days later.

Pure speculation and I will say I don’t see how BL isn’t guilty, but is there an insane chance this guy kidnapped Gabby while she was alone with the van and BL out doing solo camping? Maybe (and this is me hoping, don’t jump on me) the LE intervention after their fight really shook them up and they did indeed take some time apart when they felt they needed it. Maybe BL was trying to get back to the van and when he did GP was gone and he freaked out, assuming she left and has been angry ever since. Doesn’t explain ANY of the lack of cooperation, parents missing and him fleeing but it’s something I’ve thought about. With LE stressing no crime and that they cant arrest BL etc….. I guess LE would have an alert out for this guy too if they thought he was involved.

Or these are all twisted together in some weird way? For some reason Lowery canceling the mail with so little preparation for a long time in the wilderness is interesting. Or suicide I supposed. Just a thought and all my silly opinion.

So skipped a lot but here is a map I prepared of the Grand Teton National Park and possible route back to Florida. It indicates the Jenny Lake sighting on the 25th (the day after they arrived assuming the drive from Monarch wall on 8/24 was completed that afternoon, the sighting related her on WS of a sighting in Grants Village, YNP on Aug. 26th and the hitchhike route of BL on Aug. 29th. If BL got to Florida by Sept. 1 he had to leave GTNP by the morning of the 30th.

One thing I noted about BL, he seems to exaggerate time spans (to the cops in the altercation stop for example. Only on road for a month and a half but he says 4 to 5 months. Another spot also but can't recall). When he says they camped "in the middle of nowhere" and "along the snake river" in Miranda Bakers hitchhiker encounter that may have been along RKO road/Bar B C road off Teton Drive. It is technically IIRC within the park boundaries and so dispersed camping is not allowed. When he realizes Miranda has turned off 191 and near the dam, he "freaks out" either because he realizes they will be going much nearer to the van camping spot that he wants to be OR if te followed the rules, he wants to continue on his route down 191 which is then closer to the actual "legal" dispersed areas in the Teton-Badger National Forest to the east side of 191.

Gabby Petito - Google My Maps

I'm quoting your post only to the end about Teton-BADGER National Forest as I got the strangest vibe-in connection with the song BL posted after his supposed return from trip, about a BADGER buried underground...anyone recall it, help me locate his playlist? Is it it a clue, I don't know but I just got weirded out. @JJ Ray

I'm going to talk "outloud" and theorize for now.

GP has an "accident" (that's just what I'm calling it) and BL panics and drives x-country home in the van.
9/1 - His parents ask him what happened and he says they broke up and she decided to continue on without him. They knew they were already having problems since he had come home the week in August to take a break and move her stuff into storage.
9/9-9/10 - They do not know GP is missing until they are alerted by GP's family. They are not going to answer the phone until they get the correct story from their son first. He says he left her alive and well but everyone is going to think he had something to do with it. They hire an attorney and are advised not to speak to anybody.
9/11 - GP is reported missing.
9/11-9/13 BL is panicking
9/13?-9/14 Tells his parents he is going to take a hike to get his thoughts together. He drives to the preserve.
9/14 - BL does not arrive home. They drive to preserve and find his car but not him. They drive his car home forcing him to call when he wants to come home (In their minds).
9/14-9/17 BL does not come home.
9/17 BLs parents call the police to report his missing.

pure speculation on my part but I tend to believe that there is no deliberate coverup by the parents and I can see, being a parents myself, to want to protect and believe my child. If my lawyer told me to remain silent, I'm going to remain silent.

It is easy to forget that she has only been officially reported missing for a week; it seems a lot longer than that and he appears to have been "missing" for most of that time.
But doesn’t the van belong to her? What possible innocent explanation could he have given to his parents for ending up with his ex’s wheels and leaving her to continue a trip without a vehicle.
