The officer also explained that while he could do that (not press charges against her himself) the state could choose to charge her regardless.

I think it was ridiculous the police in Utah spent a whole hour with them for something so trivial as a couple witnessing them having an argument.

Maybe the police in Utah don't have enough to do, but in many other places, the police wouldn't even bother with such a minor thing.

A witness reported a couple arguing and fighting? Small fry.

And even when the police pulled the van over later on, HE was speeding and hitting a kerb, yet nothing was done about that. Not even mentioned by the police, who then spent a whole hour pretending to be social workers!

Just a quick 2 minute check on them would've been enough, then sent them on their way.

You are right, we don't. I'm actually scouring the older stuff to try to see where the 01 September arrival date "came from," or at least who suggested it, when, and under what pretenses. Wondering whether it's just circular reporting.
That date was by LE.

making tarp shelters is another of the youtube community trends

All over reddit too….along with car camping/ “van life”.

So…guilty before proven innocent?

It's common sense and against journalistic integrity to "couple up" a missing woman with the man who is a POI in her disappearance.

It makes it sound like some poor couple went missing together.

It's careless and unethical.

IMO nothing I said indicates "guilty before proven innocent."

The only thing I can think of is they didn't want it impounded? I know at the parks around here, you have to pay for daily parking or your car can get towed.
I agree, I think the parents took it home bc they didn’t want to have it towed and/or searched by law enforcement if it was found by them.

Is it possible that "hip belt" is just another way to describe a "fanny pack"?

I agree there is definitely something here that is different than I'd originally "assumed," and also what I have seen in other missing persons cases. I try often to "devil's advocate" myself and try to see how this could just be a tragic wrong time/wrong place deal that BL happened to be caught up in. But, I really struggle in doing this. Putting aside assumptions about who he is as a person, just considering what little we know about what went down, two people went on a trip and only one returned. The one who returned would not disclose any information about the person who did not return, and then that person went missing.

The only way I am able to give BL the "benefit of the doubt" is when I think about his family -- this is MOO based upon the little facts released to the public, but still MOO -- they were the ones who replied BL was "not available" to speak with LE or anyone these past few weeks. Did they imply he was around, whether in the home or the state, and was he really? (Can anyone answer or corroborate this?) They are also the ones who reported him missing several days after-the-fact, seemingly following a notification from their lawyer, so who knows whether without that they would have reported anything at all.

They are also the ones who last saw him wearing a backpack with a buckled hip-strap, which again I feel is 1) a weird thing to wear on a short day hike when the load shouldn't be too heavy and 2) a weird thing to tell cops you last saw your kid wearing, as whether or not the hip buckle would be fastened is inconsistent and therefore not an obvious detail in identifying anyone.

Plus, at this point, his photo is everywhere. We'd know him, backpack-hip-buckle or not. Previous posts I've made about this strange (to me, IMO) detail have been met with the utility of backpack hip-belt-buckles. Yes, they're sure handy in reallocating weight and making it easier to carry heavy loads for longer time and over longer distance. Got it. So then, I continue to ask, why this individual was wearing this (buckled and all, as his parents were careful to point out) on a DAY HIKE.

I think this is really unfortunate. It's voyeurism for the sake of some fun and excitement more than anything else and comes across as tabloid journalism.

I disagree. Brian Entin is doing proper investigative reporting. I know I took pause when I saw the big gaps in the fence behind the Laundrie's house where someone could easily come and go. And he interviewed the neighbor. All information is helpful, IMO.

But why didn't they tell investigators last night? That's another problem I have with their odd actions.

its around 35 hours. If I was 23, I could make it.
well there was a lil map posted twice that had the van and routes on it....that had dates/times researched...but I can't go back and include/link it because my post got deleted. Now I lost the map so whoever had it/did it I hope they post it again.

SEP 18, 2021

...snipped for focus...

It’s not clear where in Yellowstone the rangers might be searching. One 50-square mile section of the park edges over the border into Idaho, which some have called the “zone of death” because of a theory that a murder there.

I remember the "zone of death" thing coming up during the hunt for Lori Vallow's children.

Supposedly a few square miles is out of jurisdictional territory, but I've heard that the federal government could grant Idaho concurrent jurisdiction to try criminal cases that happen in that area.

I have no doubt it was an emotionally abusive relationship because GP blamed herself for everything. That's a huge red flag, imo.

Toxic narcissists never take responsibility for their actions. They gaslight as a form of maintaining control. I doubt GP has ever been diagnosed with OCD by anyone other than BL. JMO
Pretty sure the "sometimes I can be mean" was planted by BL, too. I can just hear him. Oh poor Gabby..... to get him dealt to her as a partner.

Major difference it’s innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. In pop culture/the media/on the streets. That rule clearly doesn’t apply even if it should. Media is all about the clicks, money and headlines. Media Integrity and real research journalism went out the window once the instant communication age began. MOO.

I suppose it would depend on the vernacular.

Nice quote by Bertrand Russell in the signature!

No offense to anyone here...I want to know what happened to him..but I'm tired of him for today so I'm going to run errands for a while.
Any bets on how many new pages post before I get back in an hour?

I think LE was looking for a gun in the trunk when they went out to the car- whether legal or not. The Laundries called LE to their house to report their son missing- I don’t think they even had to say that he was under duress- there were reporters outside. I’m sure police asked if any weapons were missing from the home prompting the officer to go check the trunk of the car where the parents likely kept a gun.

That friend has corrected this to "Yellowstone." I just heard her say it with her own lips over on Youtube, but she was incorrectedly quoted by DailyMail IIRC.

Gabby's extensive list making shows no intention of going to Yosemite - and the friend now says it's Yellowstone.

I found the MSM link:

Gabby Petito's pal says she missed meet up but sent 'strange' final text to mom

Gabby's last text (the one her mom believes is fake, for obvious reasons) is the only place "Yosemite" is mentioned. The friend gave an interview to The Sun and plainly says "Yellowstone."

Didn't LE also mention Yosemite to BL in the car? BL and GP had been there prior in 2019.

IIRC she was supposed to meet a friend for dinner and never texted her the details. Her friend told MSM she thought it was odd.

BL probably didn't allow gabby to meet her.

A friend of hers in FL has stated he stopped her meeting friends and would hide her ID so she couldn't go out to bars, etc.

Thanks but this was someone referring to a female reporter. She made the statement on the live last night, I think as they revealed he was missing -before we knew about it being since Tuesday. I need to do more digging. But either way-it’s not there on Tuesday! This reporter remembered it being there on Wednesday which is interesting.
That was reporter Brian Entin. He is still on his Live at the Laundries home.

Here is video he posted on Tuesday 9/14 at 6:04 pm and he said the parents had left an hour previously.

Then video of them returning in a red truck.

His parents retrieved the car? Is that theory or news? Tia!

I stepped away for a minute and saw on FB that they went 10-33 traffic in the area. Was he spotted?
