I think so yes. But maybe they haven't shared with the public yet.

It will be interesting to see how long the police keep the van. If it gets returned (to someone ... Gabby's parents?) then it is likely that they have found no evidence of foul play in the van.

Though, I wonder if they will be gathering forensic samples - soil, plant debris, mud - from under the van, to see where the van may have been. In their efforts to find Gabby.

This could be a long forensic examination.

After I put that timeline together last night I am not confident the van was still there at that point. There is a real possibility someone else came and took it. He was on foot on 8/29 and the timeline if right has Gabby gone by 8/29 with no reason why he would not have that van unless he temporarily ditched it after the act out of fear and went back to it later. That is a possibility. It is possible he used the TikTokers as a makeshift alibi. Because by now we know he is more cunning than we first thought.

I bet he returned to their campsite and took the van on the 29th and high-tailed it for Florida. I second the "freaking out" and hitch-hiking away North, then changing his mind, and hitch-hiking back for the van.

Well, he either dropped her off or she met up with another hiker or two along the way. She texted her mom (if its true) on the 30th I think that she was in Yosemite. Brian could have drivin back right away and be home in Florida by September 1st.

.....and she hasn't contacted anyone in nearly 3 weeks?? Very unlikely.

Also, Gabby is NOT a hiker. She is a vanlifer and not likely to go off with other hikers she just met.

They were never in Yosemite. It was accidentally written instead of Yellowstone.
To get to Yosemite, CA from Wyoming when that text was sent would've needed a time machine.

I know you meant Yellowstone...geez I initially typed Yellowknife which is in the Yukon.

Thing is, Gabby did not connect with her friend Rose on the 29th, as planned between the two of them....in order to set up a meeting in the park later on.
Rose was her best friend. It was Rose's birthday also.

Gabby was gone already, or at the least incapacitated. Gabby would have texted, or called. Even if to wish her Happy Birthday and let her know plans had changed.

She’s reading a book about the Zodiac killer in one of the photos, odd book choice for a 22 year old women?

In another set of photos of them in a hammock by a waterfall, she is reading "Fight Club" in the hammock. He's reading a book too, with a light cover. It could be "Lullaby" but I can't make out the title. This is on her Instagram. Both books about violence, right?

Yes, but it's thought that was a mistake. Yosemite was written instead of the correct Yellowstone.
This has since been thought since the beginning. Even her family suggested that it could have been an autocorrect/predictive typing mistake.

It could have been Brian texting from her phone to throw everyone off while he drove the van home and didn't report her missing. Maybe thinking they would start the search in Yellowstone.
I saw today the park rangers are looking in parts of yellowstone too.

I completely agree with you that he may have ditched the van at first then changed his mind and went back for it. I see on the map that there is a decent sized airport in “Jackson Hole”. He flew back once, maybe he intended to again?

Hmmm I don't think so, Cheryl saw a hell of a lot of people on the PCT...
I'm not sure how busy it would be from September 1st going Northbound towards Washington State. But point taken.

My 22 year old daughter is obsessed with WW2. Women can read whatever they choose.

Except Brian nor his parents have offered any information publicly nor presumably to LE. All that we know so far about the flight home and back comes from the GP fam.

Is it possible that his parents have disclosed what they know now, and that is why the police are searching that specific campsite?

Remember she did say though that he said he was "going to cross the road and head to parking lot to look for another ride."
I think that's where he had the van parked. I also think he wanted to get picked up so he could divert from where he left Gabby. He's not stupid, he offered to give a large sum of money for a short ride, got agitated and mentioned a story about his fiance. If he had killed her, he wouldn't admit he even had a fiance and he wouldn't have done things to draw attention to himself or make himself memorable, like offering $200 for a short ride.

I think he freaked out when he realized they were turning off on a different road than he had expected and he would have a longer walk back to the campground, or possibly realizing he might have to cross the Snake River if they went too far south.

Which leads me to think they might have driven the road from Coulter Bay to get to Spread Creek and he walked back from the campsite (while "camping along" along the Snake River to get to Coulter Bay for some reason). He seems to have known the route. And was hanging around Coulter Bay without the van. So what was he doing and for how long?
Agree and And being on foot....saying the van was in Jackson...weird

She would leave her van behind to him to drive it to Florida so she could hike a trail? I don't see how that would even enter her mind. She was there to do a van life Instagram/blog story she was going to monetize. I think that was the purpose of her trip. These were not people with regular jobs and I'm assuming the van was part of her business plan. She wouldn't give it to him if they "parted ways". I just don't see that at all. If anything, she'd say I'm taking the van and you can walk home. JMO.

Hope they find both of them soon! I can't see him in hiding too much longer - too many people looking for him.

Agree. The van was her Life and her LifeLine. It was her job. It was her security. She believed it was her future income and presence. He was the operations guy whose job it was to drive and keep the operations going. From what I see, she was not at any stage where she would envision going solo in the van.

She couldn't afford it. When she sold her Nissan, her father had to give her money to afford the van. Her parents still sent them money on the road, because the income from the newly-started blog was not anywhere near supporting them.

Honestly, she seems incredibly naiive about what it takes to do something like this and make money. Not that she isn't trying, but there are many many similar blogs out there and they all have pretty people in pretty places, so you need to really stand out with something special, and I just don't think she had formulated that identity yet.

So no way she was ever leaving that van.

I think at the point TikTokkers let him out it's about to be dark if not already. He's got a parking lot full of folks but he might strike out. There's a solid chance that someone who'd pick up a hitchhiker (whether in the lot or back on the highway) is a longer term camper and likely not looking at national news.

Or, more hopefully, recognized what had happened and contacted the FBI, rather than making a TikTok video.

I'm not criticizing our TikTokker. I find her pretty convincing, doing what she knew. She has already contacted LE. And it's entirely possible that they wouldn't have paid any attention to her without the TikTok. I'm sure they are drowning in tips.

1. She sadly may not have been alive by then.

2. The TikTok girl specifically said that BL told her and her BF that his "fiancée" was back at their van updating their social media. Far too detailed to be coincidental.

MOO.

I'm sure that tiktok has convinced herself that the hitchhiker is named Brian and that he mentioned Gabby by name before he panicked and demanded that she drop him off immediately.

Other than her after the fact story where she mentions missing Gabby and suspect fiance, what else about her story aligns with facts? Why was she in "constant contact" with FBI for days and why did she then run to FoxNews? Does she want to help, or does she want attention?
