The spokesman confirmed that the van is in GP's name. (It is a really nice van, not what I expected.) He also confirmed that there are no official searches that he is aware of. Good to know that her stepdad is out there doing his own search, although it's going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack without knowing her last known sighting. I hope there's a break in the case soon.

The press conference was quite vague, and I'm left believing that very little information will be released until it's wrapped.

I'm still hung on the UT police incident. Whatever happened, they won't say.

Just to be clear:

Brian Entin@BrianEntin

The van was registered to Gabby Petito, North Port, FL police say.

Thank you - there was some discussion about the relevance of true ownership of the vehicle upthread - and while we could not discuss it before BL was named a POI - I believe that he knew she owned the van, he knew she would not be needing it, and he drove it back to FL because she would not be able to - that's the relevance of ownership.
IMO

I have been looking into this as well-the timing is incredibly suspect and coupled with the fact that crap seemed to hit the fan between GP and BL on the exact date is interesting to say the least
Witnesses perhaps?

Were you all like me anxiously waiting for the thread to open to post?

There is some interesting stuff in a podcast. But we must wait for MSM to post.

Be back with a link.

It’s a pretty ballsy move on his part to show up without Gabby in her van and immediately refuse to make a statement and get a lawyer.

Witnesses perhaps?
You mean witnesses to GP and BL allegedly fighting or arguing-maybe, or maybe he suspected they are the ones that called the police…

I sincerely hope they find her, but it seems like a needle in a haystack hunt without BL’s cooperation. BL could have left her anywhere from Wyoming to Florida. Nobody knew she was missing and he wasn’t under suspicion during his route home.

Hoping someone (or video cameras along his route) saw them together, or just him alone, and can further pinpoint last proof of life and determine at least what area/state she was last seen in and when.

MOO

What was he doing from the 25th, (I believe that’s the last date she was seen, when they checked out of a hotel?) and Sept 1st, when he arrived home in Florida? He could have been anywhere.

and refuse to talk to her parents, and his mother refused to talk to his parents and he sat there (or somewhere) until LE came to seize the van.

ETA: he returned September 1.....

He had to know that him being back in FL with the van but without her would look extremely suspect, IMO. So why take the trouble to drive it back, instead of just ditching it and catching a flight? A couple possibilities I thought of:

1. When they parted ways, she had some other means of transportation and asked him to drive it back for her.

2. After something happened to her, he panicked, wasn't thinking clearly, and didn't realize how suspicious it would look.

3. There was something in the van that he knew he'd have to get rid of and wouldn't be able to take care of on the road without drawing suspicion.

I know which one I think seems most likely.
