People have more to fear from bats, raccoons and mosquitoes. Not so much in the US since the introduction of rabies vaccines for pets, but its estimate that "Each year, rabies causes approximately 59,000 deaths worldwide, including approximately two deaths in the United States." Its also estimated that 70% of deaths from rabies comes from bats. And of course Mosquitoes have their own host of diseases they can pass on. Being in an environment like that Reserve without adequate shelter and no option for timely medical assistance probably has a greater chance of killing you than just your normal camping trip.

TLDR: you can arrest anyone on suspicion of committing a crime as long as they are brought in front of a court within 72 hours.

2 minutes in, she says "you see all the man power out there? whose going to pay for that? are tax payers paying for all this, whose paying for all this?" The reporter on the other end says that's not even a question right now.

I just felt it was a little tacky for her to bring that up. I understand people are frustrated this case has more media attention than others, but I trust in the FBI judgement on this. They want him off the streets for a reason, he has nothing left to lose.

Out of curiosity, in case anyone knows: would BL be taken to Orlando to be held by the feds if he were to turn himself in and confess? Maybe they have gone to whatever city or town he will be held in when he is found? I wish he would surrender.

I know it’s a stretch beyond reality but I am wishing, hoping and praying Mom and Dad are en route to retrieve their son from his secret hiding place and escorting him to the nearest FBI office to confess. I all actuality, they seem so callous, aloof, and indifferent to this whole event. Truly unbelievable. I wonder if they’ve been in contact with their faith community for support, if they actually are people of faith with a church community to support them. My opinion only.

All I can find are mentions of failed attempts to reach BL and his parents (and getting no response) on Sep. 10th. There may be a mistake in the posted timeline.

the Van was spotted coming into Northport at 10.26am on Sept 1. LE confirmed he was in NorthPort and neighbors reported seeing him - in the beginning we weren't even sure he was the driver of the Van until the neighbor reports came out.

Awful lot of resources being used looking for BL. After a whole lot looking for GP. Probably running low on surveillance now. They didn’t bother to keep eye on BL not that long ago

IMO there was less resources in finding GP than BL. I see some news call the BL search in the swamp FBI, other local LE run. I think it may be local LE covering up for the fact that they lost track of him. FBI always seems more patient and focused. The Florida effort seems like - if you have a swamp buggy, drone, or dog - come on out.

As the search for answers continue, a retired Green Beret is offering a $5,000 reward for any information provided to the FBI that results in an arrest. Brian Laundrie, who has been named a person of interest in the case.

In a Facebook post, Jerry Torres, a neighbor of the Petito family, says he has a daughter and wants to help.

“My daughter and I offer our deepest condolences to the family of Gabby Petito. We are offering a reward of $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest. 1-800-CALL-FBI // 303-629-7171.” said in the video.

Another individual, Steve Moyer, is offering an additional $1,000 on top of that.

“capture” would’ve been a more attractive term to people sitting on information IMO… if he’s found but not arrested the person who tipped LE to him wouldn't be rewarded. that’s how it reads anyway…

I understand what you're trying to say, but the fact they ignored any attempts of reaching back out to GB family is telling IMO. And also, everything else. MOO

But you don't know what he told them or their experiences with Gabby and her relationship with her parents. Let me be clear Gabby and her parents are victims and in no way should the be blamed. But for all we know BL told them Gabby needed space and wanted her parent to leave her alone. Im not saying this is the case, but there is so much unknown, maybe they were begging him to say something, maybe they did cover up. Whatever happened there is plenty of time to bash the parents once we have the full picture and we are certain how they acted.

Ive seen time and again of parent of murderers/criminals being completely destroyed by the media and the public jumping to conclusions and then years later their heartbreaking story comes out and they are revealed as victims as well. Not as much of those who died, but grieving victims none the less and a lot of the time the are not mastermind, cold hearted, abusive monsters. But just normal everyday people whose lives are irrevocably changed

This is a Federal case. Gabby's body was found on Federal land. Florida laws do not apply. I earlier posted my personal experience with this. Do not lie to the Feds. Not even about what you had for breakfast.

I read this and thought about it. . . when the chief of police pulled into our driveway, and i didn't realize it was for a neighbor, (and i live on an island with less than a thousand people, and know the police well), i immediately felt like i had a sick stomach, that one of my boys did something, and if i had the feds here for anything, i'd crumble like a cheap suit, tell them the last time i took a tylenol and if i used fabric softener sheets versus liquid. I'm not sure how BL's folks are able to hold up really.

That's a pretty big stretch, IMHO. Honestly, the thought never crossed my mind, and I am usually one of the first to think of that because the first websleuthing I did was in the Laci Peterson case.

The photo that accompanies the "sonogram" post is the road to the Spread Creek Campground, just west of where the van was.

The circled areas are small signs on the logs that most likely say No Camping Allowed or something to that effect. The logs and the signs are meant to tell people not to try to park or camp there.

I have no idea what this has to do with a "sonogram"
