I have a question concerning all the evidence markings where Gabby was found. Why are they so spread out? Do you feel she was running? I am trying to understand why there are so many.
Scattered from wind, animals .... just a thought. Don't know if there had been rain in the area.

For clarification, is there any other evidence indicating BL is or was in the reserve aside from his parents’ statement to LE?
As far as I know, there may be, but it’s not being made public.

I believe more will be said about what the search is doing to harm Carlton Reserve.
You can't just repair damage done to a fragile environment.
Lots of wildlife habitat is being disturbed too.

No matter where he is, I hope that BL is found today and the search can end!

This also ran through my mind when I saw the equipment being used, particularly the big tank thing that just seems to drive right over trees and demolish them.

I was going to comment about the habitat and wildlife being harmed but thought I'd be shot down in flames for it.

It's sad that BL's actions have had this domino effect of destruction.

Live view of copter was the reserve though

Yeah, but I think JB got on and talked about the incident quickly in Hillsborough and that was the newsroom chatter we were hearing.

If they're waiting on toxicology and blood work etc. Would it stand to reason they could think something other than physical injuries happened to her, i.e. poisoned or ? something else I may be missing

No. There's a protocol for autopsies--what they look for, how they do it, what order they do it in. They look at the condition of all parts of the body and take the prescribed samples and send them to the lab and wait for the results. (This is not a comprehensive list.) It's standard procedure.

They've made the preliminary assessment, and it's possible although rare that the lab results might cause them to change that.

The assumption is the FBI are smart enough to go off more than a bias witness assertions. But nothing as yet has been released.

This is what I'm having trouble with: Why did he sit around for 10 days? He could have flown anywhere in the world that didn't have extradition laws.

IMO - Arrogance - I bet he didn't even think he would be arrested, let alone convicted. He didn't think they would find her body before the elements or animals got her. I bet dash cams didn't even cross his mind. And he was so clever with the "...hiking near Snake River for 3 days" (NOT) and the text message to mom about Yosemite (ooops).

I have a question for anyone that has an answer. Iirc, the tow warning was issued on the Mustang on 9-14 at 2:45 pm. Do we know if his parents gave a time he was last seen in their living room? I am curious if there is an obvious discrepancy.

TIA.

Dude. Stop. Just stop. Good grief, STOP.
LOL. Sometimes I think this whole story/event is worth following just for him.

LE being extremely thorough in tracking all the footsteps that must be put there.

I don't have enough information to postulate the course of events there

Brian Entin is going to be on WFLA with JB and Walt shortly.

I agree, the proximity of the body to the van does seem significant. But what also seems significant in regards to that, imo, is how long the van sat there. If BL killed GP prior to the 29th, why would he leave the van in place and go hiking, only to then risk coming back to the van hours or days later? With other campers in the campground, it would have been all too easy for someone to have come across her body while he was hiking. And why would he want to hitchhike and be seen by more than one person, then be dropped off at the very campground where he knew the body was? I don't buy he tried to plan this as an alibi. If that was the case, he would have no reason to then run.

The more I stew over these details, the more I'm leaning towards what I posted on page 1 of this thread. I think they camped at Spread Creek after their visit to Jenny Lake. On the 27th, they ran to Jackson for money and lunch, planning to head to Yellowstone next. But something happened at Merry Piglets that caused a fight which continued to the campground, so BL left in a huff to hike, for a break, leaving GP alone at the campground, maybe with no phone or phone service. He hitchhiked back on the 29th by 6:30ish pm, got in another fight with GP for ditching her there, and that fight lead to her death. He panicked, picked up camp, packed the van, headed for Jackson to get gas, and booked. JMO.

Does it not seem odd that if that were the case, GP - being alone as a young woman (safety standpoint), especially a young known to be desperate at times *not* to be separated from BL - would have reached out to family or her friend, Rose, while he was off hiking in a huff? Given other glimpses into their life (included how distraught she was during the traffic stop), she does not really seem to be the type who would just shrug her shoulders, lock the doors, and keep working.

The plane is WFLA's chopper, not sure why it is showing as a plane today.

showed as a small plane yesterday and then i think later on it showed as a helicopter

Or to confirm and further substantiate their preliminary findings

Everything is say in this post is my opinion.

Regarding the parents being prosecuted for accessory after the fact. It is my opinion, they won't be. Earlier is stated that it was of little use. I believe the DA would not be too interested, because they are usually not. State or Fed. The threat is often used as leverage to get someone to talk. Outside of that it's less common for family to be prosecuted. Keep in mind, everyone has family of some sort, and juries are made up people with family. Just my opinion.

Regarding BL. He is most likely not in the reserve. I believe the reserve was a diversion. Nothing else.

I doubt BL was as outdoorsy as he portrayed on social media. As evidence, I offer that they drove around a lot from place to place to get pics for social media, as apposed to spending extended periods of time in the wild. Heck, there are Places where we can build a fire, and roast weenies in our local park. Doesn't make it living off the land. Also, that we know of they seemed to spend a bit of time in hotels and eating out.

Sometimes, subconsciously they want to be caught. They do stupid things, or leave stupid clues. It happened with Robert durst.

I saw blood drips on at least one log there, marked #16 with a paint marking from LE at the scene where she was found. IMO that would indicate some kind of attack that was spread out over an area. It's horrible to speculate about, but yes I noticed while watching their search from the helicopter footage that bits of evidence at the scene were spread out. Very sad to think she was maybe trying to fight and/or run for her life from her killer, in this theory at least. I think LE knows how she was killed by now but we might not know for months. I think forensically they can figure out what happened without BL telling them much if anything. IMO

Question about swamp search: is it possible LE has found evidence there but has not told the public? Could that be a reason the search has been maintained for so many days?

It's absolutely possible that LE have found lots of things everywhere that they haven't disclosed to the public.

They are under no obligation whatsoever to inform the public, or the media, of their findings, and like I said in an earlier post, you can guarantee that they're being exceptionally selective about what IS in the public domain in terms of information on the case and their related searches, and what we DO know will be only a fraction of what they know.

When there's no obvious cause of death, a toxicology test is needed. They test mainly for opiates, amphetamines, marijuana, alcohol and barbiturates but rarely include poisons. If a drug is detected in the first test, scientists confirm the results by running more tests, which can take several more days and might have to be repeated to ensure accuracy. The tests are very complex and can take weeks.
