So I don't disagree, @RickshawFan, that BL is not a survivalist, not by a long shot. The reason I linked my post to the North Pond Hermit story, is because that 27 year hermit in Maine was not a survivalist either. He was bright and anti-social. At 20 he became a petty thief, committing 1,000 local burglaries to survive alone for 27 years.

In fact, I think my point is that perhaps BL is equipped not as a specialist in survival skills, but with the mental capacity to check out from the world and remain hidden.

Here are some fascinating tidbits in the particular article I chose to share in this discussion because it reminded me of how BL may be thinking of his long term future. I have to wonder, given the variety of mental health attributes he displays on video, witness accounts, and as recounted by GP's close friend, if he is not planning to just disappear.

At the time, most of his peers were heading out into the world, getting jobs, going to college, forming relationships and starting families.... To me it seems like Gabby was BL’s only real friend, and only girlfriend ever. If she was gone, in his eyes did he really have anything left? I’ll be surprised if they find him alive.

IMO if Brian was so heartbroken over losing Gabby, he would’ve done something to himself long before she was reported missing.

IIRC he was still seen in the neighbourhood on September 10th and she was reported missing on the 11th.

He had about 2 weeks of time by that point to end his life. But given his behaviour, as I’ve said before, he seems like a typical user and abuser. Those people don’t commit suicide. They take and take and abuse and just live their lives as if their actions have no consequences because somehow stuff always works out for them. Self absorbed know it alls, too arrogant to commit suicide.

With this body cam footage still referenced often in the media, I can't begin to state how loathe I am to watch BL in the replays. It's his body language that just horrifies me.

Now, with being respectful to our rules, I won't go into my personal experiences with DV/emotional abuse, but that video and BL's behavior in it are triggering for a number of reasons.

I did find this article that mentions that the dispatcher from Moab that took the call regarding BL slapping GP may be in some "big hot water" for not communicating that information to LE who responded to the scene. I also found it interesting that in this article, they specified that that call was made through the non-emergency line and not 911.

I hate that the media does this. Those officers had the 911 call info. The officer wrote that at the top of his report. I don't see that the dispatcher did anything wrong. It is really unfair to blame them. Moo.

Down the road if we have a trial, as far as a defense, what about the different legal types of homocide? The one I'm concerned about, but hasn't been mentioned is Temporary Insanity or Insanity. The instance in Moab just lays the basis for that defense.
Homicide is when one human being causes the death of another. Not all homicide is murder, as some killings are manslaughter, and some are lawful, such as when justified by an affirmative defense, like insanity or self-defense. criminal law.

Temporary insanity is very, very difficult to prove. IMO, it would never fly in this case, IMO. He was always belittling her, etc., and I think some folks knew that. Rebutting that claim shouldn't be that difficult, IMO.

The FBI at Laundrie’s house this morning is bugging me.

They were only there for 4 minutes. That’s barely any time & I can’t stop wondering what could be achieved in 4 minutes

• Quick case update?
• Advice to lay low during Gabby’s memorial?
• Subpoena issued?

The fact that they refuse to talk to LE, my own opinion is:
Why would they deserve an update?
Why would they deserve advice?
Yes on giving them a notification or giving them a message.
Yes on Subpoena.
Yes on another warrant.

Edit: they want something more with Brian's scent on it.

Just adding that I am not personally blaming them (daughter of a deceased LEO.) I just found this interesting that it was a "non-emergency" call that was quoted regarding the alleged "slapping of" GP. I haven't seen the non-emergency distinction quoted anywhere else (though, it is hard to keep up with both this thread and the thousands of articles online to be sure.) After all, those would likely be two different dispatchers.

I will have to look for the police report from that footage again for specifics.

I was replying to your question regarding if the homicide is a federal case the same as the fraud case. If the homicide took place in a federal National Park, it would be a federal case. State vs federal definitions of homicide is a different question entirely. IMO.
