They are mainly using vehicles? I didn't know that. Wouldn't that limit where they can search?
I guess you've never been to Naples Florida during swamp buggy race week and pulled into the 7-11 next to a vehicle with tires bigger than your car.

OR, per my generous post, they thought she flew back and made the mistake not to follow-up on that, got a lawyer when they realized she was missing, had already gone on trips and regular outings prior to finding out she was missing because, well, they were still living their normal lives before a nightmare struck.

Not saying it IS the case, but it IS a possibility.
If they thought she flew back in your scenario, then why not talk to her mom and instead lawyer up? Why would they immediately think there was wrongdoing on BL's part enough to lawyer up and never say a word to them again? If what you said is true then why wouldn't they have picked up the phone when Gabby's mom called? OF course, they had heads up though, because they had a police inquiry on the 10th, right? By Gabby's dad? The only way I can see your scenario happening is if they learned the truth on September 10th.

I know Port Richey is up the coast a bit and it's highly unlikely because it's described as decomposed but...

PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a decomposed body in Jasmine Estates.

According to agency spokeswoman Amanda Hunter, the remains were found Saturday in the area of Embassy Boulevard and Richwood Lane.

Authorities have not disclosed the person’s identity or gender. Their cause and manner of death are unknown. It’s unclear if foul play is suspected.
Appears to be a female.

Unless he is really dumb, he would know where the cameras are. My Apple Maps even tells me when I am about to hit a red light camera. Then again, he might be naive and not used to committing crimes or driving far, so he might get picked up on that.
But, are there ways for them to completely avoid highways if they were hypothetically, dropping him off up north or west?

Oh no!!!! That's unreal. What a perfect plan that would be huh? I guess that's right, bc it doesn't have any wheels. It's not being towed or hitched. I was thinking pay tax - not the obvious that it gets attached to an already registered vehicle. Ugh. I find every move to be so calculated. MOO

Its a large camper shell that sits in the bed of the truck and part of the shell hangs over the roof of the cab. The only vehicle at their house that could transport it would be their red (?) truck that has been parked in their driveway.

It’s a broad recap of everything. I haven’t heard anything I didn’t already know or learn from here. You’re not missing anything.

Yeah, nothing new. I got really upset with Chief Winder angrily defending the officers that did the traffic stop. I have a picture of him and Detective Step Son near the TV. I might have to cut Chief Winder out of the picture.

Appreciate the reflection. I, too, have jumped to conclusions on them! But I try to be aware of the other possibilities and that other scenario would be very difficult for them if that turns out to be the case. We just really don’t know.

I actually edited my post before seeing yours to add a line under what you quoted:

If BL is as narcissistic and manipulative and abusive and volatile as some people here think, they could have suffered from that with him too, and also be somewhat victims in this. Lied to, used, abandoned.

So your statement that he could have betrayed their love, too, struck me.
I really would not be surprised to find out they were fed up with him. They haven't commented period.
They aren't going to all the media outlets defending him either.
So there's that...
I think they may have assisted him in getting away and told him not to contact them for anything else. (Maybe)
That would be very hard to do, but it's been done before.
MOO

Do you really think he is still at the Reserve? I'm thinking it's all subterfuge and he is camping somewhere else. The only question is do his parents know where? I don't think they do.
If so, and if his parents don't know where he is, what's he doing for money? He's gotta eat & take an occasional bath. Salvation Army shelter, or some such, perhaps. Food kitchens are everywhere, and some have beds. That would work. But for how long?

Just a thought.. what if Brian is hiding under the floorboards?

They could drive over him and squish him like a bug with that thing.

As in they got rid of their problem? Not sure Florida houses are pier and beam.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

IMO, a missing <modsnip> woman element hasn’t made this story so huge. It’s the insane behavior of the Laundrie family (and north port police). It’s that two people left on a roadtrip, and only one returned, WHO THEN SAT AROUND REFUSING TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT TO THE WHOLE SHOCKED WORLD

many missing cases are mysteries, you don’t know who did what or where anybody went for months or years. Not as much of a story there.

This one drove home to his bedroom in mommy and daddy‘s house and nobody did anything until he vanished. Weirdest story in a long time

He had to use it for kindling

No reporter to my knowledge ever spoke of it. Granted he can't skate in the forest but one can make tracks skating away. But then the camper report came out and it seems like he would not take it. Yet, the skateboard IMO is still relevant. It was with them on the trip. It needs to be accounted for. That van was back for 11 days before anyone even knew to check and inventory its contents.

It may mean nothing. But, it gnaws at me. Where is that skateboard? Hmmm.

They don't have floorboards, the house is built on a cement slab.

I think they would’ve had to learn on Sep 10th as well (in this scenario)! They get the calls and texts, go to Brian and say what is going on they haven’t heard from Gabby? And he says something or they figure out something is very wrong and they call a lawyer.

Per my post, I said the lack of communication at the beginning, starting Sep 1 even, was a big problem, and huge mistake. And Sep 10 not answering is far worse.

But FROM THEN ON, their silence may not be them being “in on it” but rather trying to navigate this properly with legal counsel while absolutely hating their son.

Look, it’s not my favorite theory, either. I’m not trying to reeeeach for them to be good people. But I don’t think the mistakes / intentional disregard for responding to the texts at the beginning are a solid indication of their roles at this point in time. JMO

I think it’s equally possible and likely they are involved and have helped him along the way. But everyone already thinks that. Trying to get out another plausible option.

Whether it is easily seen or not, it is a valid option that they had nothing to do with any of this other than calling up their friend lawyer at first sign of trouble and following his advice to not respond and say nothing.

ETA: I’m sure in that scenario, Sep 10th was a whirlwind and calling the lawyer first upon finding out confusing or distressing info that related to their son’s involvement was the smartest thing to do, though not the most moral. Not moral at all. But after that, there’s no saying if they’re just following advice of legal counsel and getting by day by day with no more knowledge about Brian’s whereabouts or what really happened in Wyoming than we have.

I know.
Oops.
That's exactly what I thought when they said they're using them.
