Just to fill you in: Melissa Hull is a Park Ranger, and the Park Service has at this time denied an FOI for her body cam. There are links in the thread about this if you search “hull” in the search bar! She does have body cam footage but it isn’t released yet and is separate from Moab PD.
Thanks for that because I was wondering if Park Rangers even had body cam at all. Now we know.

And, remember all, they're Federal. And, this is a federal investigation. You'd have to go district court for a FOIA and likely would not get it. MOO JMO and IMO...

That's got to be a kick in the teeth to the North Port Police. I know that retired LE have said as much, but I think this is the first criticism I've seen from currently employed LE.
I doubt they’re sweating Sheriff Judd. His citizens love him, but a lot of the surrounding counties joke, “The most dangerous place in Polk County is between Grady Judd & a tv camera.” Not disparaging him, again his voters obviously trust him & that’s all that matters.

Watching that new bodcam footage, which it feels like shows just how adamantly it portrays Gabby as the aggressor, well I had a terrible thought. I know we don’t have specifics on COD but what are thoughts as to whether BL would try to use self defense as a defense..

Seems very likely to me based on the new video.

That's what I thought. But someone posted above that a homicide COD does NOT rule out an accident. It just means that the cause of death was another person. Don't shoot the messenger!

Aha ! True. But …. BL’s subsequent actions circumstantially point much more to murder than to accident. He is after all a fugitive from justice. He left her body to rot in the wilderness and he stole her van, her belongings and her money. And he never told anyone he accidentally pushed her. He is a cowardly murderer and justice must prevail.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

All of the members of both families have lives. They have friends. They have jobs. They have businesses. They have behavior patterns. They have personal issues, as we all do. I do understand why we can’t discuss these issues here, which we will probably never fully understand anyway. These things can factor into the case and influence behavior patterns for GP and BL

And he did this all to his fiancée, after being seen by multiple witnesses as being abusive and controlling with her and others. He didn’t accidentally do any of that or the above.

OK. I am watching this now. This second video is clear, she said he hit her and She had obvious marks on her face from being hit. She looked scared, then said she hit him first. She knew he would be in trouble, go to jail if she said he hit her, but she isn't a liar, she doesn't know what to say. I would think a trained officer would know she may be afraid to tell on him, afraid of him going to jail, or of Brian possibly retaliating against her for this. I am shocked they let them go.

If only...

At one point he refers to people as an "infestation".
That is interesting- and I agree, he no doubt excluded himself.

That aside, his use of the term brings to mind two points made by other posters:

1. He is probably going to be living a hand to mouth "racoon style" existence of shelters, soup kitchens and homeless encampments supplemented by petty theft.

2. It is far easier to change ones appearance than ones habits.

The "people are an infestation" comment could point towards radical environmental beliefs or ideology. By habit, he may seek out like minded people who share (well to varying degrees of course) this belief and other environmental ideologies.

The next question could be: What areas feature a radical environmental "scene" including like minded people, book stores, coffee shops, hand out spots, travelling speakers and heck- I dont know concerts? and..... are also conducive to a racoon lifestyle?

I think most rural areas can be excluded. While they support raccoon life styles, they usually dont have radical environmental scenes. Moab might be an exception- but he would dare return there. Instead, I am thinking Portland, Seattle, or San Francisco. All have the eco scene and all of the cities tolerate and even facilitate raccoon life styles.

Why??
Why would LE think that he, BL, paid for it???

That's what I mean. Ime, they definitely would NOT assume that. They would run the plate and get the registration info first thing. And my experience was probably 10 years ago. It's only gotten more automated since then. My kids don't even have to have their registration or insurance on them any more. The cops can get it before they even pull them over.

I searched that thread and see one link from the Independent saying that it was Gabby's van, without further comment. Is there anything else you know of?
FBI Denver on Twitter
Ms. Petito is 5’5”, 110 pounds, has long blonde hair, blue eyes & visible tattoos on her hand & forearm. She & her boyfriend were driving a white 2012 Ford Transit van with a variety of stickers on the back. The van is registered to Ms. Petito with Florida plate QFTG03.

What is a radical environmentalist? People who care for the environment?

Didn't LE confirm the van belonged to Gabby? I think they acknowledged it when they were pulled over and/or after the van was taken on the 11th? I don't know when we first heard it but it's been mentioned many times.
