"Cassie Laundrie: I assumed he flew back, because that's what he did when he IS"

1) having one of his anxiety breakdowns
2) needing to be around Mommy
3) tired of staying in a tent

4) Really frustrated by his relationship with Gabby.
5) All of the above.

Yep - it's been similar here in MI. Claims were a MESS for the first 6 months. And while it got better it still was a mess. People here are still receiving lump sum back benefits. Obviously we don't know if they ever filed for unemployment - but it definitely would have made it more financially feasible for both of them to not work for half a year and travel the US.
This is something the FBI could easily get information on from either GP or BL's tax returns or the FL UI office. It's really just a matter of whether or not DeSantis and his administration allows the release of that information.

Sorry, these threads move so fast….did I miss where we know INTERPOL is involved? Link?
Could Brian Laundrie have escaped on Cruise Ship? Ex-FBI speculates

According to this source, former FBI agent John MacVeigh has now come forward to share his theory: Brian Laundrie could have escaped via a cruise ship or plane. MacVeigh suspected that Laundrie could have gone international.

In talks with ABC affiliate WPBF, the retired FBI agent said: “I assume those agents have been around everywhere, looking from the house to that park, to see was there any video, did they stop to get gas?

“Since the warrant’s been issued, then the FBI can issue a red notice, which goes to Interpol and it’s sent out to all the countries.”

Curious about BL "stopping by Cassie's" on Sept 1.........it sounds like, since she lives North of North Port, he stopped at her house before he went to his parents house. So, she both SAW, and presumably SPOKE with him before he went home. Who knows how he explained his appearance in FLA without Gabby, but as many think, he offered an explanation on or before the 31st to his mother, which prompted her to cancel the sept1-sept3 camping reservations. So, did mama not tell Cassie that he was returning home in the van? Cassie told ABC that she "presumed that he had flown home".........when she knew that he drove the van to her house and then to his home. They probably all lie all the time and have been lying to each other for years! What doozies are these people? jmo
FBI has visited the home of Cassie and presumably questioned her about BL. I wonder if SB's comments today would trigger a follow up visit to Cassie from the FBI...thoughts anyone?

are we allowed to post links to their (GP and BL) social media? If so, I will post a link.

Yes, both GP and BL’s social media accounts are approved.

I'm way behind on these threads, but I want to respectfully say, that it is hard to read other's opinions about GP's parents not searching for her the way you would have done. Its disrespectful to them in my opinion. We don't really know how it played out for them. Not to mention Gabby was an adult, not living at home, and I'm sure they respected her privacy and right to make her own decisions. They did nothing wrong, any of them. They are victims and we have no reason to be second guessing them this way.
i disagree, they had the right to respect her decisions until their son showed back up alone with her Van, and even then maybe he told them she knew he had it and was with someone else....fine.....but when it was clear that something happened to her and she was missing then thats when you have a moral right to speak, to say what you know, to help find her before something bad happens you can only say, i respect her decision as a adult until you realize hat she could be in danger........and was!

He claimed the FBI was aware of all of this, and I do believe that's the case. There's almost no chance that this came as news to them.

The lawyer was just trying to get ahead of this.

4) Really frustrated by his relationship with Gabby.
I dont think she meant to say "is".
She said "I assumed he flew back, because thats what he DID when he". Did is past tense possibly referring to when he flew back after the incident in Moab. JMO

There went her character.
The thing is though, we don't know how long BL was actually at the campsite, do we? So if he & the parents arrive on day 1 and he leaves that same night under cover of darkness then he may not have been there say, on day 2 or 3 when she showed up. For all we know the parents could have told her he decided to stay home and she would have no reason to question it at that time.

Obstruction of justice, if she lied to the FBI.

Yes! Depending on Florida law, they might have to show proof of personal property taxes being paid to get plates for the van. If they put his name on the title and he has any sort of outstanding personal property bill, he would have to pay those pers prop taxes before either of them could get plates for the vehicle. Just a thought, IMO.
Thanks for Info.

She VERY quickly said "but I hit him first"
That is what victims of DV do, its a classic move to shift blame onto oneself

And what really bothered me is they all lacked the experience to LISTEN and HEAR the story rather than just focusing on the words & whether they fit a statutory definition. I think more experienced LE would have treated BL with MUCH more suspicion and would have been more likely to at least get the actual story.

Which, IMO, is about his anger at her working, fighting over the keys as he wanted to control the vehicle & exclude her from it, his chasing HER down the street as the witness stated, none of that suggests SHE was the "aggressor" in the legal sense. He had no right to exclude her from the vehicle and leave her behind. Even given their "shared" use-that's what it was "shared" not HIS use. Yet LE on scene assumed it was HIS as they asked him if he was OK with her having the van. They never considered his trying to exclude her & leave her behind was any kind of a problem!

I can't really blame the officers as they were all doing their job, and not in a cavalier way, as they saw it. They took plenty of time yet still missed important details. Like it makes no sense the aggressor is a crying mess and the victim just gets happier and happier, joking, laughing etc as it becomes clear he's duped them. Like many have said it is all too common for abused women to minimize, take responsibility, protect the abuser. It's too bad none of them seemed to know that or see that in the situation.

But nothing they would have been able to do would have really changed anything unless it was an intervention to get them to separate permanently and that's just not reasonable to expect of LE.

BL’s parents did find themselves in a horrible situation when their son returned home Sept 1 (?), that they didn’t necessarily bring on themselves.
After that, They made a lot of bad decisions. Over many days:
-Not answering calls from Petitos (why not answer? Guilty knowledge?)
-Acquiring camper topper/planning trip
-Acquiring new phone for him
-And IMO lying about BL going to the nature preserve when police were looking for him.

To name a few

I know SB shouldn’t be talking so much but can we all stop wishing he’d shut up please - his replies to reporters are sooooooo interesting :D

Cassie saw her brother Brian on September 1 when he stopped by her home and again on September 6 at Fort De Soto Park,” Bertolino said in a text. “Law enforcement agencies are well aware of these dates.”

8 On Your Side confirmed through public records requests that the Laundrie family checked into a campground at Fort De Soto on Sept. 6. Bertolino previously confirmed the family camped from Sept. 6 to Sept. 7, at which time he says, “they all left the park.”

Brian Laundrie’s fiancé Gabby Petito was officially reported missing by family members on Sept. 11. While Brian and his parents stayed quiet throughout the search for the 22-year-old, as well as after her body was found in Wyoming, Cassie Laundrie did speak to a news outlet.

  • During the interview, Cassie Laundrie also said she had not spoken to her brother Brian since he returned to Florida.
In his text to 8 On Your Side, Bertolino blames misinterpretation for what was said in the interview.

“Any prior communication by Cassie that does not reflect these dates is simply a difference of relating an answer to a question misinterpreted by Cassie or poorly posed by the inquirer,” he said.

Brian Laundrie’s sister saw him twice after return to Florida, was at Fort De Soto with family: attorney | WFLA

I took a step back & decided not to comment on the body cam footage last night. It was so hard to watch. I decided to sleep on it & gather my thoughts. This second set of footage from this officer… & before I say anything I’m not saying I agree or disagree with how the Moab police handled this. So don’t come for me lol These are just my thoughts, observations, & JMO. This is what it seemed like to me. I wanna go thru the positions of the police bc I don’t even know how I feel about it. All references are from body cam footage posted in 7 different tweets from Brian Entin on Twitter.

Everything is IMO!! IMO!!

(1) You can tell that this officer was very familiar with the law & with DV cases at some level. He knew he was recording & is literally quoting out the law & all the different criteria. He made the comment to the other officer that (paraphrasing) you know what can happen with these types of things, things keep escalating & the victim ends up getting killed.
(2) They established him as the “victim” - that’s the part I’m uncomfortable on like I understand-ish why, but that decision impacts EVERYTHING else IMO. At that point they have to make sure that SHE will not hurt HIM. When in reality - hindsight is 20/20 - they needed to be concerned about him hurting her.
(3) It is so heartbreaking that this cop went to great extent to help her - & I truly think that’s what he was trying to do - & if you think about it, if they would have arrested her & took her to jail, it might have saved her life IMO!! We don’t know that for sure, but it def would have put things on a different course. It just breaks my heart for Gabby. Those cops, that I truly think IMO were trying to help her, have to live this for the rest of their lives.
(4) I do think it would have been beneficial for the police to completely get Gabby separated from Brian like a different location with a female officer to see if she would talk. Because in one of those clips, an officer does mention that (paraphrasing) she could be trying to protect him. They did pick up on a couple things, but ultimately & tragically, IMO went with what was being presented to them in the field, rather than that brief thought.

My heart is just shattered for Gabby in this footage.

I know. That's why I think he is there, because that case stood out in my mind. It's where I would go if I wanted to hide and I lived near the water in Florida. imo.
Where is the source that Interpol is involved? That’s the first I’ve seen of it…

There has to be some kind of title transfer on the car, that is standard in pretty much every state. The VIN on the car would need to be registered to the vehicle's current owner, so police would be able to run the plates and know what the VIN is on whatever vehicle is of interest to them. Source: just did a FSBO car sale lol
