While quiet on the ground at #CarltonReserve,
@8_plamison
noticed an airboat with a dog on board in a swampy area of the reserve. So the search continues, just scaled back. #BrianLaundrie #GabbyPetito
I wonder who Brian's cell phone provider was. I wonder if all of this is for a phone and that maybe the provider's records revealed that the phone last went down not in some other state along the way, but at the reserve. MOO Just thinking.

Extremely abusive and immature, but I have experienced it and witnessed it. My advice to young people in a relationship that you want to leave remove all your belongings BEFORE you announce your breakup. Chances are they might destroy it out of immaturity and anger. Any age can act immature!
Change passwords to all sm/bank accounts, change locks. Gotta look out for yourself in case they do NOT take it well.
I don't think that Gabby was quite ready to break up. jmo

On the trail, they’re called shelters & they are no palace, no “cabin” for sure. Some are 2 stories, all open. Most have resident mice. Some are off-trail by ¼ mile or more, some right on trail. They are disbursed at irregular intervals all along the trail. I’d never think BL would stay in one of those (too risky) but maybe hidden deep behind one that is further “off trail” because then he could pilfer someone’s supplies in the middle of the night. Easily, because most would hang their packs off the bear cables provided many feet away from the shelter. Easy peasy.

Of course not relevant if he’s in a vacant cottage, F-150, or foreign country. No clue where that lil f’er is at this stage of the game. Jmo
There is lodging just off the trail at different stages/overlooks/states/towns etc. These are cabins, hostels and even lodges depending on the area. For example see bearsdencenter.org:
"If private, quiet, rustic and cozy are what you’re seeking, the cottage is the place to stay. Think hiker cabin! Lounge in the living room by the fireplace or sit on the wooden deck and read a book in the middle of the forest. Get back to the basics. The cottage is a 1/4 mile hike from the day use parking lot."
and
"Spend the night in a secluded stone lodge built in the 1930s. Originally a private mansion, the impressive 8,000 square foot facility is nestled in the peaceful woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains; and only 150 yards from the Appalachian Trail. "

This thread is about Gabby, not passing judgment on how people earn a living. MOO I believe Gabby and BL had different ideas about what their trip looked like and hadn't communicated that well to each other. Women in general seek connection with others. Vanlife was GP's way of keeping connected while on the road with Brian. Men ( especially young ones) have a lot of energy to burn and need physical activity to stay mentally healthy. Being married for 27 years and raising a son of my own has taught me this. They also don't need as much connection with others as women do. Brian had energy to burn and wanted to be out in the woods and on the trail hiking and seeing the sights. The day of the altercation in Moab, GP had spent some time in the coffee shop connecting to others while Brian really wanted to be out exploring the trails ( men love to do this) As so many have mentioned they were both so young and immature and very likely lacking a lot of self awareness. When my husband and I travel to Colorado, Wyoming etc, when him and my son get the itch to go and explore, I let them go and spend the day " connecting" and being at peace with myself. Tragically, neither Brian or Gabby had the experience or wisdom to understand what interdependence in a relationship looks like.

Agreed.

Last night the thread closed before I had a chance to respond to South Aussie’s post … here is a copy of it:

Here was my post responding to someone asking about flights BL may have taken in August…….

(Makayla) My answer about the flights was referring to BL’s possible trip back to FL in August when they were still on their trip. I doubt he would have flown since his return to FL on September 1st. I’m sure LE has checked with the airlines for any flights he made in August. I’m still uncertain of that story especially since we haven’t seen any proof of such a trip.

************
(South Aussie) I wonder why the FBI would have reason to check about the August flights? Gabby was not murdered until later in August. And she was seen alive, by others, after those flights.

************

My reply to South Aussie this morning …

(Makayla) I was referring to the possibility of BL flying home to Florida in August, of which we have no proof, and I agree I don’t think it is that important unless it tells us more about WHY he would have flown hone. Did he move GP’s belongings into storage, indicating he didn’t want her things in the Laundrie home anymore, did he move all their belongings from a storage unit into the Laundrie home to save money, had they broken up their relationship and if so, why did he return to continue the van journey with GP, or were there other reasons for him to leave GP in a SLC hotel in the middle of their van journey? It just seemed strange to me that he would have done this, and it’s not something that has been proven. If he didn’t fly back to FL in August, was he at the hotel in SLC with GP the whole time? All we know about that time period is both of them were seen leaving the hotel on August 24th. In the overall scheme of things, and given that GP was still alive at that time, it’s not critical, but I am curious whether he did fly home for awhile and why.

We're probably not going to know the answer to this unless there is a trial. We talked about this in-depth a couple weeks back, and I put links in the media-only thread with the only information we have to date.

Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito, 22, Grand Teton National Park, 8/25/21, MEDIA, MAPS *NO DISCUSSION*

Gabby's family is the only one talking about it -- or at least was. Her mother says there is misinformation about it, so they aren't discussing it.

In this Nancy Grace interview, at 10 minutes in and at about 33 minutes in, the mother discusses it but also says (33 minutes in) that Gabby and Brian tidied up and tossed a lot of things before the trip. If that is true, it really would make no sense for him to go home in the middle of the trip to move stuff for storage purposes.

'VAN-LIFE GIRL' GABBY PARENTS SPEAK OUT as Boyfriend Hides Out at Parents' Home

The dates are also in question, and given the way GP reacted to spending one night alone and away from Brian when the police advised it, I have a hard time believing she was okay with being put in a hotel for an entire week without him.
Some have said he planned the mini trip in advance. Maybe, but if so, it wasn't for the purpose of moving Gabby's things out of storage (if what her mom says is true about them already taking care of their things before leaving).

Some have said they were moving her things out of storage and into the house because they couldn't afford the storage. I don't know where this idea comes from, but again, this should have been dealt with before leaving, and I would think a roundtrip ticket PLUS a hotel stay would be way more than just paying the storage for two or three more months until they returned home from the van trip. 7 days at the Fairfield even at $100 a night (lowballing) has to be more than storage, not to mention the flight also. That's why I also would think that if Brian left for that reason, he'd be in a hurry to get back and wouldn't be gone an entire week anyway.

Of course Gabby could have lied to her mom about why she was in the hotel room, but I feel like Gabby has to lie an awful lot in some of these theories for them to work. I've heard that Gabby lies about the storage because she doesn't want to tell her mom that Brian really walked out on her. I've heard Gabby lied about the fight at MoonFlower to protect Brian, but I don't subscribe to the idea that Gabby's lying all the time.

So I don't know what happened with this "trip home" or what the Petito's have mistaken about it -- if it happened. On the one hand, you'd think Gabby's family would know she spent a week alone even if they aren't sure why, but on the other, I don't know that Gabbywouldn't have been flipping out about it to the point that her dad would have felt the need to go out there -- like he said he would if he found out BL left her there.

Additionally, in the sister's interview, they ask her if BL ever did that before -- left GP somewhere. And for what it's worth, the sister claimed he'd never done anything like that before. So that negates anyone's theory that she was trying to say "he flew home because that's what he did when he is..." She uses two different tenses, and I don't know what she is getting at, but she can't say he never left her before but then hint that he did leave her, so I think she was trying to say something else. But again, others think she really is referring to the mini trip.

Brian could have walked out on her and threatened to throw her things in storage away when he got home, but I don't see that as a detail her mom would misconstrue or that wouldn't send her father flying out to Utah.

I believe that Gabbys mom knew about the Moab incident. She commented about it. Actually downplayed it as not important IIRC.

I agree the "flew home to clean storage locker" storys sounds bogus. But we really don't have any evidence that GP's stuff isn't at the L's home except for the following report that appeared in multiple outlets

"A North Port police spokesperson told the outlet that he was “not certain” where Gabby’s belongings were and was “unaware of any items of hers from inside the home”

Gabby's family haven't received her remains & her 'stuff is in Brian's home'

As I said, those words appeared in several stories besides those in The Sun. But we've seen inaccuracies from bad reporting gain a life of their own before. So I don't think that report should be taken to mean her stuff isn't at the house. "Not certain" can be taken to mean (to me) the spokesperson had absolutely no idea where her stuff was. None. Probably had not even given it any real thought. And who knows what the rest of the quote means. It could mean the spokesperson was unaware of any items taken from the house as evidence that belonged to GP. And that would hardly be surprising.

Personally I find it hard to believe nothing in that crammed garage belongs to GP. I guess it could be stuff from when the Laundries moved there from the condo. But they've had the house on the market since then so that seems unlikely. One thing I don't think happened is that the parents helped BL methodically throw all her stuff away before he flew back to Utah. Just don't believe it.

So far as the L's not returning GP's stuff to her family. ..Shipping it back while she was still a missing person? Bad idea. Immediately shipping it back as soon as her body was found? Even worse.

Just curious where she seems to "freak out" in the video relating to the separation? I have watched the footage multiple times and I see someone who is frightened/sad/scared - unless I missed it and its totally possible, but IMO I didnt necessarily see someone who "Freaked out."
See approx minute 24-26, "we're a team, please please..."

I am just at a loss now as to what to believe. I really believed the Davis sighting. However, now Dog is saying he doesn’t believe it and he has found a prior connection between BL and Davis!??? Whatttt?!

The
Maybe they’re concerned that his attorney could have him bailed out on the bank fraud charge?
The feds filed for detention pending trial, so bail won’t be an option.

My last post was aborted in the thread closure. The gist of it was to say that many keep posting that Gabby planned to meet Rose at Yellowstone on the 29th of august..........NO!!!!! Gabby was to call Rose on Rose's birthday, the 29th and they would make plans to meet at some later date depending upon their respective travel plans, possibly at Yellowstone. Rose never received the birthday call so no plans were made because Gabby was likely deceased by the 29th. IMO Gabby was deceased late in the day on the 27th. jmo
