correct, but these would not typically be known to the general public...for example, if someone asked for directions to "california" with no further clarification, i don't see most people assuming that they were asking for directions to a neighborhood...jmo

Very true, but California the state doesn't make any more sense, either.

She seems to rather like public speaking,.. so she may embrace the opportunity. The thing is, she will have to give her memory a real good working over, so that she does not come off looking like a total dunce in the dock. Some little stories you can tell the press, but it's a different ballgame up in the witness box..

A good barrister, ( attorney) would tell her to keep her head down, and maybe even go into hospital come trial time.
Plus it would probably just feel so good to finally see him held responsible for something. Jmo

WOW Former FBI agent Jennifer tells B Entin that she doesn't believe Cassie. She thinks the campground meeting was to figure out how to proceed in this mess. She thinks CL knows a lot more.... jmo

Well, if CL in fact does knows more from the Campground meeting with BL because it could/might have been about how to proceed after GP murder on Sept 6th, no one is going to rat her out because it would incriminating them. MOO. Also, it would be incredible for all three members of his family to hold up and not spill the beans under so much public pressure and media presence.
I agree with everything the former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer said, and especially the part where she said that Cassie is probably very mad because the Laundrie attorney exposed to the public that Cassie and her husband Jimmy and their children were also at the Fort de Soto campground on Sept 6th with the Laundrie parents and Brian Laundrie (that wasn't known to the public before because only 3 people where registered at the campground, Brian and his parents). IMO Cassie is truthful in regards to being upset that the attorney threw her under the bus in that way. As for most of everything else, I don't believe that Cassie was anywhere close to 100% truthful to the protestors in the interview. I do believe that Cassie talked to Brian and their parents about Gabby's whereabouts and what happened to her. MOO

Snipped from NBCnewyork.com.

Cassie has changed her story AFTER being outed at the Sept 6th Camp DeSoto family gathering.

Remember ...
"The only other member of the family who has spoken out is Laundrie's sister, Cassie, who revealed in an interview that she hasn't spoken to her brother since he returned to his Florida home from his and Petito's cross-country "van life" trip without Petito."

"I haven't been able to talk to him. I wish I could talk to him. I cooperated every way that I can. I wish I had information or I would give more. This is all I have. I gave it to the police," she said.

By the time she gave the interview is was long passed Sept 6th when she did, in fact ,see and spend time with her brother.

If he spoke to BL on the 14th and BL was last seen on the 13th AND left his phone and wallet behind, then how did they communicate?

Great catch.

Accused is a whole lot different than charged & convicted IMO. & right now…all he is doing is continuing to write a story that would royally not sit well at all with a jury. I could see this behavior just flying all over them. Innocent people don’t run. That’s all obviously JMO. :)

He may request a bench trial - if he is alive, captured, and charged.

I noted in a previous post (that went poof with the website maintenance) that they have bench trials, as well as jury trials, for felonies in Wyoming.

Will see if I can find the link again and add it here.

ETA: Here is the link.

A defendant may request a jury trial, or a bench trial (a trial to a judge only). Felony jury trials can last a few hours to a few days, depending upon the number of witnesses and the complexity of the case. Felony bench trials typically last a few hours.

With everything that has been going on in this case I did not even think about this. You're so right. This is really horrible. MOO

maybe this is some evidence that the parents truly had no idea at this point. ??

I don't think Brian would assume anything that Dennis was doing, without Dennis at minimum telling him this.

I mean, roads run both ways. It's not like the route to the Appalachian Trail has only one opening. Couldn't Dennis just as easily cruise right on past an entrance?

Well here is what I don't get about this alleged encounter, okay we all know Brian got a phone likely 2 phones but if he had one why not use its map program, unless he was scared they would be tracking him. That said I know cellular service can be spotty there.

After reading that book Lullaby (which by the way was to me one of the worst books I have ever read. If in fact BL has read the other books that the author wrote . I struggled to get thru that book with every page.

I would not be surprised if BL took off between 9/8 and 9/13. I think in MOO we will find that as a fact.
That's a really interesting idea! Especially as the lawyer previously revised the phone purchase date (with mom) down from his original statement of Sept 14 to September 4.

If we go by Cassie's version of the timeline (being that it is the only one available at the moment!), I'm not sure there's any evidence of anyone seeing him after Sept 6th, 8pm at the camp grounds...

Do you think Cassie will testify against her brother in court and reveal the fake story that Brian had told her regarding Gabby’s whereabouts?
Depends on what the FBI knows (aka what she knows) that she held back from the public at their request.

yeah, there doesn't seem to be much about this situation that isn't outright weird...

of course, if Cassie is up on the stand for the prosecution, that would surely be a real axe to the grandparent thing, .. the mother and father relationship would definitely take a fall..

In my opinion, she has ,( it would be put this way in my court language,) tainted her evidence. She, herself , has poisoned her own well of testimony, and it would take a very clever prosecutor to rehabilitate her credibility.

Hopefully a verified attorney will confirm, but in the US, criminal defendants are entitled to a jury of their peers under the Constitution. I know you can elect a bench trial in civil cases, but I don't know if you can elect a bench trial in a criminal case. jmo

This post reads like something BL could have written.
Funny you should mention that.

Someone posted the 8/19 post from Gabby’s Instagram on Twitter today and pointed out that this was during the time when we now know that Brian was back in in FL. This is one of her last two posts, along with the “Happy Halloween”post, that had no location tag.

This one is the photo looking out the door of the camper, and you see Gabby’s legs and you can also see Brian in the photograph, but the wording to the caption about littering sounds like Brian more than Gabby.

I find it strange. We know that Gabby was still alive during that time because of the sightings afterward, so why was Brian posting as Gabby?

Very good point and I was thinking about this yesterday. I would NOT want to take a chance with a jury if I were him. Jmo

That's only for state court, not federal court. They have different rules for federal proceedings.

So, in this theory, how did she die at the edge of a large campground?
.
In line with that theory, perhaps he was telling the truth to the lady who he hitched a ride with--he had been hiking and sleeping on a tarp for a couple of nights. When he got back to the van, Gabby wasn't there. Because they had been fighting before he left, he figures she maybe hooked up with her friend or someone else and left.

But she did stay, and befriended a stranger with bad intentions. Apparently, there are/were others missing from the same area, and the was a double murder a few weeks prior. Who knows?
