Hmm I thought this was in reference to the text on 8/30 about "no service in Yosemite" ergo the safe word was potentially Gabby saying Yosemite to alert her Mom cause her mother know she wasn't supposed to be there.
No, that text had to have been sent by Brian. The Stan text on the 27th probably was also sent by Brian, but also could have been sent by Gabby as a way to signal her mother that she was in danger. That's another reason that I think she was killed on the 27th.

Perhaps they aren't defending him, but instead are defending rational, logical thought and rule of law?

Exactly. I don't care if he's guilty or not. I don't know him or anyone involved in this saga. Not personal to me, at all.

IMO This line of reasoning is going to take you to the point where, if it was a code word, then why didn't it work and that is what is going to get it shut down. JMO

Her mom has already said that wasn't the case IIRC

but how do we now Gabby even knew about such a thing, i doubt she considered herself a abused woman to that extent....gracious!

But that’s the point. DV victims sometimes think this kind of stuff is normal.

Is Brian Laundrie Alive? One Seasoned Pro Says Yes — and Where He Thinks FBI Should Look Next

At least one seasoned investigator, a retired federal marshal with three decades of experience searching for -- and finding -- people who were on the run, says he doesn't think Laundrie was ever in the Carlton Reserve in the first place.

In an interview for News 4's The Debrief podcast, Craig Caine, who supervised members of the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force before his retirement from the U.S. Marshals Service, said he believes Laundrie was never in that nature preserve at all.

"I think it was all a ploy. He had plenty of time to calculate those moves," said Caine, who has no involvement in the Petito/Laundrie case but who offered an expert opinion based on 30-plus years working such mysteries in the United States and abroad.

Caine says there is one "critical moment that changed my mind" as far as where he thought the investigation would lead. In his view, it all comes back to that silver Ford Mustang Brian Laundrie's parents told police their son drove to the Carlton Reserve on Sept. 14. He left behind his phone, which the FBI has since confiscated.

Laundrie's parents went to the preserve after their son didn't come home. They found the Mustang. They drove it home. Three days later, they called police to tell them that Brian Laundrie was missing. That, for Caine, was the critical juncture.

"You're gonna leave your son out in the preserve with no form of communication and no way to get home? Does that make sense to anybody?" Caine asked. "I don't even think he was ever in that preserve."

The FBI and local law enforcement briefly seized that Ford Mustang as part of their investigation and have since returned it to the Laundrie family. It's unclear what, if anything, of forensic note they found inside of it to assist in their investigation.

Caine says he isn't surprised they haven't found Laundrie yet, either. But he does think, eventually, he will be located.

"This isn't reality TV. This is a real-life situation, which leads me to believe this was well-orchestrated, well-planned and he had a lot of time and resources," Caine opined. "This guy will be found, maybe not sooner but he will be found later."

100%. BL had help getting to wherever he is, and it’s not in the Reserve. I also believe he will be found. He can’t run and hide forever.

I watched it.
I see it.
It closed.
And, in the permitted video on here they guy was very careful to show every program he used to dispel any rumors that it was doctored. MOO

The only logical explanation I can think of is that the trail cams are picking up movement and activity in various places. It could be him. It could be a deer. Who knows? I think as long as the trail cams keep picking up movement they will continue to go out there in more or lessor numbers to check it out. jmo

The trail cameras actually take really good photos - day or night. Very clear. There are ones that take close-up photos and ones that take more wide-angle photos.
I posted links to the cameras/photos at the reserve way back in the threads.

Have LE searched any of the caves seen in BLs' Instagram pics? There's one where he's peeking out of a "crevasse" and several where he's barefooted climbing the rocks.

Judging by BLs' friend list/comments/older likes, there are some other people in that "barefoot in the dessert" group. The kind who frequent co-ops and live in communes etc. Maybe he has some off grid friends who don't ask too many questions?

Brian Laundrie: Police say he was under surveillance before he disappeared - CNN

To Note:
•Authorities do not have the phone Laundrie had with him on the couple's trip, nor do they have Petito's phone.
•Neither phone was in Petito's van, which Laundrie drove back to Florida, Taylor told CNN.
•authorities never spoke with Laundrie before he went missing even though they had ‘eyes’ on him.
•Taylor also confirmed investigators did not find a campsite during those efforts

I'm curious as to the last location either phone pinged. GP's couldn't have pinged at the reserve since it hadn't been on, but maybe his would have.

I feel like we can rule out the phones being left behind in GT because RL suddenly canceled the camping plans. If she changed those without knowing BL was on his way back, that's one heck of a coincidence. But I'll be surprised if those phones are ever located in Florida, if they're located at all.

But she was talking to her mom on the phone during the stop. No need for code words.
She didn't want Brian to know that she was alerting her mother. It was her cry for help if she sent that text.

lol too true, If you boiled these 55 threads down to actual facts and discussion of actual facts it might all fit on one thread. But, too throw in something that wouldn't make the cut for this fantasy 1 thread event, I read another msm story that gave more info from Josh Taylor that said there may have been speculation from an air asset that they something they saw could have been a campsite. So both statements can be true simultaneously, they did not come across a campsite and that they saw what might have ben a campsite but it wasn't.
But, by throwing around theories and getting into the granular details of the little information that has been made public I think we've actually called out some stuff ahead of time that did eventually become public. MOO

huh?
many abused women don't think of themselves as abused
that's part of the reason their abusers are able to get away with it
exactly my point so if gabby didnt consider herself abused i doubt she looked up a code word for abused woman so thats my point exactly!!

I cannot imagine leaving the love of my life out to rot. No way. Absolutely beyond cruel.

I agree, but we don't know if she was in fact the love of his life at that time. Maybe the "honeymoon" was over as far as he was concerned.

  • #818
And, I thought she broke it off? MOO

Only her mother ever said she broke it off. Both GP and BL continuously told everyone within earshot that they were engaged. Multiple witness statements and on the Moab video, as well.

people don't 'look up' code words
they create them with loved ones

That's driving me crazy. I read the statute, but maybe I need to look at it again. I'm almost positive I didn't read ANYTHING about how long a vehicle had to be located somewhere before being considered abandoned.

What I did read from the NPPD spokesperson was that the notice essentially started the 5-day process, meaning they had 5 days from the date of the notice to remove the vehicle. NOT that it had been there for 5 days.
Exactly, that's the way it has to be done, to avoid disputes about when the vehicle was first left at the location, and to give an owner who may not have the statutes memorized, fair warning about what would happen.

I don't know anything about Banfield, but is it true as google says that she is/has been a host of a show titled 'Legal View'? Perhaps 'Wrong Legal View'?
