I'm not sure I feel the same way, but if this was planned before the Moab stop, then it couldn't have happened at a better time.

If that had nothing to do with directly, I'm sure they needed a break from one another to just recharge and hit reset. Sadly it didn't help at all.

Just 4 days later she was dead, he was in a panic and wasn't thinking clearly. However the hitchhiking stories could have been planned by BL to create a alibi. I just don't think they worked in his favor, just made him more suspicious. imo

Wish he had just stayed in Florida and the cruelest thing for Gabby would be finding a way home in that van, but at least she would still be alive.

Between August 12th and the 17th is was most likely more fighting, more drama, and it was probably just a way to delay how it finally ended when he initially flew back to Florida to clean out the storage locker.

If you've kept up with the SB nonsense, he said it probably last week, that BL and Gabby shared expenses, like 50/50. I personally don't believe that, I think Gabby was the main supporter financially on this trip and he was along for the ride. Just a gut feeling on my part. JMO

But during the Dr. Phil show late last week, the Petito's family attorney stated that he believes Gabby paid for the plane tickets for BL's flight to Florida on the 17th. Just one more reason for me to believe the clear imbalance of available money. That just makes me sad to think and have it confirmed by the Petito attorney.

I agree with most of what you are saying. However, I believe, as you do, that Gabby was footing the bill for this adventure. I believe that Gabby eventually agreed to pay for a round trip ticket in exchange for him agreeing to fly back to help drive them home. I do believe that the relationship was essentially over. I believe that everything imploded once he flew back from Florida and he killed her in a rage. He thought he could just hitchhike home but found that it would be way too risky. He hitched back to the van in order to get Gabby's credit card and to take the van to drive back to Florida.

Can you link to the $60 restaurant tab. IIRC initially the restaurant stated they couldn't recall Gabby and Brian visiting as they were so busy but later stated they could in fact confirm G & B had been there, though I don't recall they confirmed any other details. Thx

It would be interesting having an idea of finances as $60 isn't super cheap for a meal and is in contrast maybe with the potential sighting of GP in the store purchasing doughnuts and ramen, which are relatively cheap to purchase?
I get a feel that people are split as to whether they had very little or plenty of funds to continue financing their trip. Possibly not relevant but the info about the restaurant bill I wasn't aware of so all the info available is good to know.

It sounds like there was a lot leading up to the fight that may indicate why he locked the car doors leaving her on the outside. I may have missed the part where BL was attempting to carjack the van, as I was of the understanding he was trying to distance them from each other because of the physical interactions and the fact that their public fighting was drawing attention. He seemed to have been sensitive to having everyone witness their very public fight. Not sure he would decide to carjack the van with everyone's eyes on him.

Men who need to "distance" themselves from their girlfriends because their girlfriends are "worked up" need to know that locking themselves in HER van is not the way for that distance occur. He should have gone into a nearby store or park or restaurant and given her the keys and told her he needed to take some time away from her until they both calmed down, not given her the impression he was stealing her van! Everything BL did in that situation was wrong and bad, IMO. He's a man child who seemed to learn girlfriend conflict resolution from some sexist high school friend.

When the leaves are changing, people from other areas and from the City do travel upstate to see fall colors. While that may not affect occupancy of all cabins, whose owners have often seen many autumns, it might affect some if the owners are renting them out to tourists or enjoying the fall weather themselves.

I've been attracted to Upstate for most of my adult life, with my photography, just beautiful up there. Also salmon fishing lake Ontario area.

I know of different animal hunts just not when. I'm familiar with the bear hunts and the deer hunts but I didn't know the specific's since I'm not a hunter.

Remember the Dannamorra prison break was I believe in the winter weather and those cabins were empty as they hopped around trying to get away. Upstate would be a preferrable location for BL as opposed to NYC. jmo

I didn't give a lot of thought to what I replied to you. I apologize. If your a NYC dweller you may know more about what's happening on the streets.

I haven't been to NYC since before the Pandemic and I avoid the homeless. Since the pandemic and the reopening it feels like NYC is becoming a dumpster fire and LE are constantly putting out fires and in crisis management mode.

I get the vibe of the 70's & 80's crack crisis is happening now but without the crack. BL could slip into the city (although I think he'd more likely to head further North into upstate) and just blend in as long as he's not starting trouble, getting into trouble, or hanging out directly with jmo

Yeah, it’s not quite like that (I was in NYC 2 weeks ago). I was in high-traffic areas—Williamsburg, Columbus Circle, Times Square and Penn Station—and subways—I took the A, C, L, and 1 trains—and if anything, actually saw decreased homeless presence/begging from when I lived in the city pre-pandemic.
The one advantage BL would have in NYC is that he would have to (or could) mask up everywhere he went and nobody would bat an eyelash. He could get on the Metro-North train into the city at the Appalachian Trail train stop in Dutchess County and be at Grand Central in an hour and a half, and he’d have to be masked the entire time.
Also remember, though, that he and Gabby are still in the news here almost daily. NYC is a city of typically connected people and even the commuters in NJ and CT have been saturated with info about this case because of the local connection. If he’s in the city and takes his mask off, he’d likely be screwed.

As a brand Nomadic Statik was set up likely by Gabby all by herself to portray their joint travels in their van. She used "we" all the time as part of the brand. She told the police they were a "team" and that she couldn't be alone during that stop when the cops were trying to separate them. She thought of them as a team, told the cops that, but when it came to doing the work on the actual website I'm pretty sure it was her doing all of it. He didn't seem talented in that regard and I've seen nothing to indicate he was good with blogging or Instagram or photography or any of that stuff. She was the talented one in all of that, IMO.

Remember BL also told the cops during the traffic stop she was working on "her little blog".
He was like an actor in her movie, not a producer.

I saw this news last night just as the thread was closed. I must admit I had a sinking feeling it was going to turn out to be him. Why they have not denied this yet is very curious. MOO

I hoped he would be found alive so he would have to live the rest of his days reminded of what he has done. MOO However, I have since watched a few episodes of Dual Survival and I don't see BL cutting it. MOO. These guys on Dual Survival are true survivalists. They go in with next to nothing.

BL while camping off the grid, still always had food, shelter, and water. Accordingly, as the days continue to go by I wonder more if he is dead, or if he's alive and being protected by someone (who would now be committing a crime), or he's out of the country. MOO

She was apparently planning a small beach wedding BEFORE Covid hit, and was "put on hold" due to that. That was likely 2019, very early 2020. It was a mere 24 seconds into the video when her step dad said that.
