My guess would be bludgeoning. Maybe even one of those "campfire" rocks.
Could be, but while rendering her unconscious, she wasn't necessarily dead right away. UGH jmo

I have to say, even though I’ve thought most of the sighting pics way off the mark, every time I see one of BL which emphasizes a certain posture he has, the rib cage thrust, shoulders back, spine arched, it reminds me of the photo taken 2 blocks from his home on 9/17!
The.one with the guy with the ear buds? That really did look.like him!

So, if it happened quickly without screaming and other noise, and not with a gun, what does that leave? If death was almost instantaneous, there would not be a lot of blood spatter or even pooling. If no blood evidence at all, likely strangulation or smothering.......which take a long time. jmo
I don't know that we can necessarily say there was no noise/ screaming. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't those sites fairly far apart? If they were fighting at or near the site like they were in Moab, they might go undetected. He might also get more angry the louder she got because of the Moab incident. Remember all the apologizing for it being "so public" as if physical violence is OK in private?

The fact they were fighting in public tells.me they did not fight often. They didn't even think about it! Never crossed their minds someone would.call LE!

Good Morning WS Buds!
Well, I see that Gabby's murder has, as expected, joined back page status in the national news. Let's hope the internet community keeps calling for new information. DTBH is complaining about bounty hunter fatigue and the physical discomforts of old age - and he says finding BL is an expensive proposition requiring funding...hmmm. Anyway, the fire and fervor of the past month is winding down - as it always does when these cases aren't solved within a few hours to a few weeks after they happen.

BL might resurface after the cause of death report is released (if it ever is). The bones of a COD report are a great foundation around which any number of yarns may be spun by one's lawyer. Since nobody has come forward to say they saw BL kill GP, yarns will neatly do. Its said that eyewitness accounts are oftentimes unreliable. No witness account opens up a world of farce and fancy. All it takes is one or two jurors to believe it and you have mistrials and do-overs until the state pulls the financial plug on the whole thing. Being the universally accepted crazy guy in town doesn't mean you've killed 5 old ladies unless your DNA, skin cells, bloody trail and all the neighbors saw you leave their houses and have it on their Ring cam. In this case, you have two young people, closely associated, full of love and laughter and slapping and crying. His DNA is all over the place, as is hers. His blood is probably somewhere in the van. His skin cells are probably under her nails - mutual sexual encounters can get a little feisty. Most of what we know can be easily explained away by an astute and experienced criminal lawyer.

Which is why I cannot imagine the reason for allowing BL to take flight. He's got the edge, so far. The lawyer is holding all the cards, yet he's structured his strategy in such a way that being his clients' intermediary has left them despised, reviled and their son on the loose. None of this will play out well in court (if it ever comes to court) and adds an aura of guilt to all things Laundrie. Skilled council would have BL home, in his parent's house, lawyered up, silent where he needs to be silent, crying on camera where it would do the most good. When he does loosen the bonds of the hermetic strategy, its grins instead of grimaces, memorial removal (they could have added flowers to it), faux family feud, a strange indifference to an only son's disappearance and a shell game of dates and times for this and that. No wonder LE is frustrated.

Rest in peace little Gabby.

I disagree. Fighting in public means the private fighting escalated to a serious degree to be taken public. JMO

Found some interesting stats (links at bottom of post). Overwhelmingly, most domestic violence is perpetrated using body parts (hands, fists, feet, etc) but most murders (overall, whether it be domestic, stranger violence, whatever) happen with a firearm, assuming because a firearm is usually more deadly than mere physical contact with body parts. JMO. This is not to say use of physical force minus a weapon doesnt cause fatalities, just not as often.

Thank you for finding this. I’ve been trying to work out the probability of what could have been used. I have a personal story which is why I was shocked that handguns were the most common as I thought it would be something else due to what I went through. Knowing that her death is a homicide and not accidental it’s got to be something pretty obvious IMO. The only problem I can see with a gun is the noise factor, on the video that the you tubers sent in, you can see several vehicles on the way to the Ford van unless it is hunting season and people are use to gun shots going off. I’m in a military town and we hear gun shots every Sunday, so if someone was shot on a Sunday it wouldn’t stand out to me. All MOO

Where did you read that he threw away his phone?

The FBI has taken BL’s cellphone as part of its manhunt for BL — but it’s unclear where Gabby’s phone is. The FBI executed a search warrant at his parents’ home and returned for DNA evidence — and have taken BL’s phone.

The family attorney, Steven Bertolino, confirmed last week that BL fled the home without his wallet and phone.

FBI has Brian Laundrie's phone but not Gabby Petito's

The FBI believe BL purchased a burner phone at an AT&T store in North Port on the day he went missing. FBI agents seized surveillance footage from the store as reports have surfaced that he may have visited the establishment with an older woman on Sept. 14.

The Laundries' attorney, SB did tell TMZ the family purchased a new phone but he 'believes it's the one Brian left behind at home' and notes that the 'FBI is already in possession of it'.

Brian Laundrie 'bought a burner phone' from a Florida AT&T store on the day he went missing | Daily Mail Online

What I read was this:

"Authorities do not have the phone Laundrie had with him on the couple's trip, nor do they have Petito's phone."

source: Gabby Petito's fiancé Brian Laundrie was under surveillance before he disappeared, police say - CNN

So, presumably, Brian discarded their phones at some point.

And yes, he did get a new phone on the day he went missing. Which he left at home. Not a lot of time to use that one. I doubt he ported his old number anyway, but I guess we don't know on that point. It is being described as a 'burner phone,' though, which tends to suggest a new number.

One month ago today, #GabbyPetito’s mother reported her daughter missing in Suffolk County, NY. The missing person report is included below. Authorities are still searching for her fiancé, #BrianLaundrie (deleted and reposted with proper redactions)

Thanks for posting this. It's the first time I've seen the original missing person report. Interesting that it says that the photo of Brian Laundrie that was provided to police was dated 8/27/2021. I don't know of any photos that were posted on 8/27 on either his or Gabby's social media. I wonder if Gabby sent it to her mom on the 27th.

With the reports so heavily redacted, I am still left wondering if any of these calls might have been swatting incidents…
I’m copying another post I made here. They don’t appear to be swatting. And they started on the 10th, the day before GP was reported missing.

“The calls on 9/10/21 are reported to have come from inside the house.

Two 911 calls were made from the Laundrie home on September 10, nine days after 23-year-old Brian returned home to Florida without Gabby.

One of the calls, both cited to be a "Public Service" CFS, came at 3.58pm, documents show.

The second came just over two hours later at 6.29pm.”

Three 911 calls 'were made from family home day Gabby was reported missing'

The 46 pages of redacted 911 calls can be seen here:

I think that's her mother's maiden name. Maybe Gabby used it sometimes.
Might be her middle name. My sister's middle name is my mother's last name - it's something people do sometimes.

That's my issue with the strangulation theory. I don't think he set out to kill her. If they were fighting and got physical, her fighting back would be motivation for him to continue until death. JMO
I think that's a detail skipped over a lot in conversation here. From the 911 call and Moab incident, it does seem like GP fought back, physically. She didn't appear to cower in a corner while being hit, their altercations, at least by that point, were maybe mutually physical. I'm not blaming her, nor do I need an education about DV victims, I'm just thinking there is a good chance they were in a physical altercation when she died. Am I claiming self-defense on BL's part? No, extremely doubtful. But I think you make a valid point about strangulation and her fighting back.

Because I think she was killed at their campsite, I've asked myself what would be around there, not kept in the van. I think... small propane tanks, knifes (for cooking), bungee cords, rocks, fire skewers, fire itself, BL's fist, etc. I'm wondering if COD might end up being blunt force trauma to the head, but they could tell the force or angle or imprint was by murder rather than a fall. Idk.

Rest in peace little Gabby.

While I agree with your observation, I also noticed that we are seeing more and more missing person cases making headlines. THIS is exactly what Gabby's family had hoped for, her case to bring to light all the others out there that need exposure and resolution for those hurting families. If there is one glimmer of light in this case, its this!

GP's mother said when Gabby was missing that the engagement was called off before the trip. Now we hear she was planning a beach wedding? I'm confused...
oh, the media is at it again, headlines to entice readers to visit - clickbait. Gabby's mom said they previously planned a wedding but it was cancelled due to Covid (worldwide cancellations occurred).
