But will it be under the same indictment or a separate one?

They cannot use the same indictment for an additional charge. They will amend it to add, or draft a new indictment for MURDER. IMO.

Page 2 of that document clearly says “more than 5 days.”

Good, then it's just an administrative thing, that 5 days is the minimum estimated time.

They wouldn't be "turning" on their son, they would be getting him the help he desperately needs. Cooperating with police would increase the chances of their son being found more quickly. And alive.

I agree with this. No way do I think his family or lawyer is helping long term. Brian might be close to the edge. But, hindsight is 20/20....

But 5 days for just that?

Because of all the publicity I would think it would take some extra time to seat a jury. It's not as though they have petit juries on standby the way they have grand juries :-)

Her mother gave RL and CL's current home address as GP's address in the missing person report that was posted in the last thread, and JP had moved to Florida "to be closer to his daughter" according to several articles I've read (for example, this one: Dad of Gabby Petito says 'he will do anything to find her' after she vanished on trip with fiance | Daily Mail Online), so given that, I think the answer is that she never lived with her father in FL.

I do not suppose that she lived with JP. I do not dispute that she lived with the laundries. I wish to determine her address OF RECORD. I have not been able to view direct evidence thus far.

In reference to her missing person report, the address is redacted. Wabasso ave is listed as GP’s previous address.

eta- caps for emphasis, not yelling. I don’t know how to italicize, lol. Just realized how that looked

Here’s a screen grab from the Moab stop video. Identifying details aren’t visible, but you can see it clearly says Florida at the top.

In this scenario what if she suggests that they break up, he runs off angrily, comes back now she is gone? Far fetched yes but still a small possibility in what seemed like a volatile relationship.
That could resemble whatever story he told his parents, but that leaves out the part where he reports her missing to LE and searches high and low for her..........nope, just takes off with her cards her van and everything else she owns that is in it. jmo...........................oh, and maybe calls her parents to see if they have heard from her or seen her.

As in tit for tat?

I'm not condoning their behavior, however, BL could be looking at the death sentence if charged with GP's murder.

Cooperating with LE doesn't necessarily keep their son alive.

i believe federal grand juries are impaneled for 18-36 months at a time...

A link I posted earlier said that in WY, they are impaneled for up to 18 months. And they get together every two months to review the cases.

For example, the grand jury got together for 4 days in May 2020, and reviewed 31 cases.

But then why didnt he search for her. Why drive her van home and why would he have the keys and not her.

If he'd kept his original phone we'd be home and dry now.
I note LE have his new phone.
I wonder whether Gabby's number was in it?
To clarify - I do not think he is carrying his original phone now, just that he had it when he came home. Why would he get rid of it before he had to? It was an early warning signal of sorts for incoming trouble. I'm not sure he's that smart, but why get rid of your only warning system that people were starting to ask questions? jmo

I have another question :)

If the disappearance (now murder) of Gabby is a federal case, why was the search warrant applied for and issued to LE in Florida. Why didn't the FBI request it?

Gosh, cases are soooo complicated in the USA!
Was this before the FBI took over the case?

Gosh, cases are soooo complicated in the USA!

Looking at the timeline of the filings, the search warrant was filed on the 17th and the indictment wasn't filed until the 22nd. At the time the search warrant was filed, GP was still a missing person. The van had been located, but LE needed permission to search the van for information that could lead to her location.

At that point, there were no charges filed against BL. The FBI did not take over the search until after the indictment had been filed.

Dated 17 September. (edited to correct date)
FBI had not taken lead in the case at that stage.

I have a question and I've searched and searched so I don't have to bother anyone, but I can't find a list of approved news outlets. Does such a thing exist or do we post the news article (The US Sun in this case) and it will be deleted if not approved? I know the Daily Mail is approved, and the Sun in my mind ranks about the same as they, but thought I'd better ask.
