The last line is extremely powerful. I wish I had you as my mentor/friend as a young adult.
The last line reminds me of what a divorce attorney once told me. It was in reference to an acquaintance of mine I had sent to him. His words (and I hope they don't offend anyone): the blacker the eye, the quicker they go back. And sure enough, she backed out of filing for divorce.

... They own a business and real estate. My parents are mid-70s and are all over technology. They are on it more than I am. Why are you so insistent on defending the Laundries this way? There is so much more to discuss.

Yes! We do know when LE knocked on their door on the 11th they said nothing and handed them handed atty card. It’s not like oh my gosh we had no idea, come in and talk. When they reported Brian missing to LE they had SB on standby to be sure LE did not try to inquire about Gabby. Not until the FBI became involved on the 19th and had warrants did they “cooperate”. Whether they first knew on the 10th or the 11th, they choose not to cooperate.

it is an interesting counter-intuitive that a guy who seemed intent on keeping his actions a secret took no measure to conceal his cross country travels. using her credit card (not to mention driving her car) do not suggest someone covering tracks. Hanging out with his family for more than a week may have turned from waiting for the inevitable to formulating a plan (either for escape or suicide).

That said, the complete lack of effort to disguise himself or his movements upon the return trip to Florida seems to suggest either 1) he thought he would get away with it, 2) he knew he wouldn't, or 3) he didn't do it. It definitely doesn't suggest a likelihood of huge conspiracies, long term planning or a network of friends and confidants helping him hide across the country.
I think everything indicates that once it became clear that her body would likely soon be found (from the couple with the footage of the van) and the manner of death discovered, BL went into panic mode, with suicide as one of his options.

He understood the complex dynamics that can be the underpinnings of these relationships.

Brian Laundrie attorney Bertolino slams John Walsh after ID special on Gabby Petito case | Fox News
Both men have a good history of finding who the hunt! More power to them.

Fun war of words:

"I absolutely believe that his family is helping him stay on the run," said Walsh, who also hosts "In Pursuit with John Walsh" on ID.

Bertolino snapped back at such speculation.

"Dusty relics like that Dog and John Walsh need a tragic situation like this so they can clear the cobwebs off their names and give their publicity-hungry egos some food," Bertolino told Fox News Digital, also taking aim at Duane "Dog" Chapman, the reality TV star and real-life bounty hunter who entered the search for Laundrie late last month.

Through a spokesperson, Walsh said he had no comment on the lawyer’s attack, while Chapman issued a sharp response of his own.

"It’s ironic that Mr. Bertolino would criticize the people trying to find Brian Laundrie, unless perhaps he doesn’t want him to be found," he said

The longer BL is thought to be alive, the longer SB can keep billing the Laundrie family.
Those texts are probably quite expensive.

On top of SB apparently not wanting BL to be found, he also has a sharp tongue and a nasty disposition. Not surprising considering who his clients are.

I think both JW & Dog both have success in ringing the hunted. I say more power to them both. Maybe they are getting to close.

IMO I believe he left Gabby in that spot and she would never be found, leaving him free and clear to live his life as if she didn't exist. He must have been holding his breathe waiting UNTIL they did find her and he split for parts unknown.

From thread #64:

I doubt he put his fair share into her account. He's a moocher. She was looking to the future and working hard on the trip. He was just in it for the fun. Spoiled, entitled little worthless ____.
He also could have or should have had his own account, if his hard-earned money needed a place to be kept, or if his parents, like hers were contributing. jmo It's not an insult that partners have their own accounts. Or, not to mature partners, anyway. jmo

...meanwhile, BL takes a break from watching nature docs on the big screen in his safe house to order up a three cheezer from Dominos.

That he likely did, but JMO, he did not put much thought into any of this.

Remember he had also had a previous win in Moab, so he may have thought he could get away with murder too.

I think he put her out there, and apparently not in a real grave, IMO because large predators follow rivers looking for food, and smaller predators are everywhere. Her family is lucky that after 3-4 weeks she could be found at all. I'm sure he was hoping.....

Anyone have any word or live feeds on the search? I haven't been able to find any updates.
