The sighting you kabele

The sighting you labeled as NC is a Sarasota sighting.

I had heard about the Sarasota sighting, but this is the first evidence I have seen. Does anyone have more details on this report?

I was engaged several years ago to a man just like this. While I’ve know since it ended that it was an unhealthy relationship, I didn’t realize until reading that that it was actually an abusive relationship. I was a strong, independent, “I don’t need no man” woman before I entered that relationship and when it ended, I was a shell of myself that I’m still working on getting back 15 years later.

Nothing I did was right, and even when I reacted to situations that had previously been the “right” responses before, they didn’t seem to be the “right” response in other similar situations. I came to believe that it was me who was flawed. He even moved me to a different state and isolated me from friends and family like Brian did with Gabby. At one point in the relationship he told me that I was at fault for abuse that had happened to me as a child and it destroyed me. Yet still I stayed. I’ve always been ashamed and angry at myself about that, but now I realize I was in “ freeze” mode and literally had no self-esteem left. I think I would have stayed in that relationship forever but thankfully he was the one who ended things.

If Gabby experienced even a little bit of what I went through, my heart hurts for her, almost as much as it hurts for her that her life has ended.

I know that we shouldn’t really provide personal narratives that take the focus away from the case and I really tried hard not to respond to this post, but obviously I failed.
Thank you for sharing. Since Gabby’s parents have been very outspoken in their desire for their daughter’s life to bring meaningful change to the world, I think they would appreciate your message.

I know nothing about forensics, so maybe somebody can help. According to the linked weather information, it got down nearly to freezing overnight on the 27/28 and 28/29, but the 29/30 was only 37 degrees in the Jackson Hole valley (closest weather station I could find to Spread Creek). If GP was killed on the evening of the 27th or 28th, would there be forensic evidence showing the body had been subjected to freezing (or within a degree or so) temperatures soon after death?

Weather in August 2021 in Jackson, Wyoming, USA
After crossing the creek, her boots were probably wet, so she took them off and put them beside a little fire that they built (my speculation only). Then it turned cold at night. I wonder if those conditions contributed to what happened.

I followed the MT case, as well, and fully agree. And while I highly respect the "experts" who are interviewed by msm, I keep in mind that they, too, only possess the same, public information we do.

I could not agree more. I appreciate expert input to explain what is going on - like, say, explaining just what the police can and can't do when executing a search warrant, or just what exactly attorney-client privilege is. That depends on specialized expert knowledge, and is generally applicable.

But a retired FBI agents opinion on where BL is right now? That's just for clicks, IMO

we need to keep reinforcing The truth that Brian is not “MISSING”

or perhaps more accurate to say he is a fugitive avoiding arrest

Brian is “HIDING”

I agree, it’s a matter of why he’s missing. Is he hiding or is he dead?

One more thought I had reflecting back on following the Mollie Tibbetts case. I had not heard of Web Sleuths until a few months ago, while the MT trial was ongoing. I knew a lot of the facts of the case because they were getting brought out in trial, but I was going through the WS threads from the beginning so I could see lots of discussions on evidence that turned out to be wrong, misguided, or unimportant.

I think we all know that we don't have all the facts publicly, but what I see as the bigger problem to overcome is the idea that the public facts are necessarily important. We can only discuss what we know, and that can take on outsized importance.

So just as an example in this case... The TikTok witness may be entirely accurate about what happened at Merry Piglets, but it could be that the event has nothing to do ultimately with the murder according to investigators.

(If you followed the MT threads, I'm thinking of the many multiple threads spent speculating about the red shirt!)

JMO

So many details missing. For example, do the witnesses at Merry Piglets...any of them remember what Gabby was wearing, and comparing that to what she was wearing when found. Also, I think LE does have the technology to analyze food passing through the digestive track more than they have disclosed. Helpful to estimate time of death.

Mystery still ......why LE is still focused on Reserve....

So his friend thinks he might be in South Africa or New Zealand?

Gabby Petito's fiancé has resources to get out of US illegally, friend says

Expert, or inexpert, here's two MSM posts posted here this morning with wildly different theories as to where BL is. You're exactly right: if we knew what the FBI knows, we might form different opinions. Just in the past day, I have started leaning more in the direction of him still being in the area they are searching now, and perhaps deceased. UGH. It's still not my first theory, but I'll be content to be proven wrong if they find him. JMHO

That is the million dollar question...
I'll reiterate:
Why does LE keep focusing on the Reserve?
What info do they have?

I think we can rule out 8/22-8/25 because her mom FaceTimed with her and then through the 27th because of the restaurant so in my mind I’m thinking the evening of the 27-30 is the timeframe for when she was strangled
IMO
WY - Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito, 22, Grand Teton NP, 8/25/21 TIMELINE thread *NO DISCUSSION*
I have a question. On August 27, Red, White & Bethune saw the van and have a video of that. Then Elk Hunters spot the van August 29, per the timeline. Is the van in the same spot or had it moved? For some reason I have confused the Elk Hunters with the RW&B family, thinking they are the same. tia

yes. In either case, I can’t think of any scenario where he is a victim. Missing, to me, implies innocence. JMO

ETA it’s simply a matter of semantics. But semantics are very important when one is trying to drive a narrative in a certain direction. Which I think is precisely what the attorney is trying to do. Again MOO

I’ve come to lean in that direction, the more the FBI continues to search the Carlton reserve (4 weeks now), bring in cadaver dogs, etc.

Seeing how some S&R teams do things is quite informative and sometimes quite different from one team to another.
I mapped it out; Benton is on the non-toll road route from Spread Creek to North Port.
Yes, but see how you go via I-80 to get there? I-80 goes directly west to SlC, straight across WY. In other words, right close to the Tetons.
You can drive on auto-pilot, practically, from WY to the Chicago area. Then you get more interstate spaghetti.
Because of where Benton is, and relative to the Tetons, BL almost certainly came east on I-80. Then went south through Benton.
He would have had to fill up the van a tank before that. Or, at least, FBI could make a guess from how much gas. If he put in 10 gallons, he last filled at approx 250 miles back on I-80. At a guess. Not so much needle in haystack…..

Are there any searches of the Carlton nature reserve planned for this weekend? Can’t find any updates….

IMO she ran away from him barefoot, and he caught up to her.

What if he actually got lost at least some of the time? I see him as wannabe, kinda clueless.
