They were talking to SB way before the 11th. They knew and they knew shortly after Brian returned on the 1st IMO. Also, they were home on the 10th and 11th. SB was tlaking to them as well as the FBI, as per Ashleigh Banfield last night.
Agree, I think it is possible he called and told them on the drive home. MOO

Seems like the cell phone purchased at Walmart could have been for SB to contact BL.
Perhaps??

It would not be surprising if the FBI &/or NPPD asked them to stay away until needed.
Except that he was gone for a week before FBI and LE even knew... MOO

Edit: And, they did not have to be at the scene. There is a lot of other things they could have done. Even if they didn't want to speak, they could have posted fliers and even offered a reward. It seems to me that they knew he was a fugitive before he was a fugitive. This is MOO.

Not to be sarcastic, but to draw in. I think he truly did enjoy drawing and sketching in nature. What else was he going to do there alone?
If he went there to commit suicide, I would have thought it would have happened quickly. Why would he want to linger in such a desolate and dangerous place? Will be interesting to see what else he hauled to the swamp or had delivered to him.

SB said Brian was very upset when he went hiking. Or words to that effect. People in emotional turmoil tend to be less careful and are more prone to accidents. So I think his state of mind increases the likelihood of his death being accidental as well as suicidal. MOO

Or, his lawyer ?
I think SB may be more involved than he's letting on.
MOO.
Agree. All this seems like he's trying to cover his own self IMO.

MOO (as I also heard by others similarly) bc of the heat and humidity. MOO So, yeah, it seems the skeletal state doesn't tell us he's been dead for 6 weeks. We have to wait for the forensic analysis of the anthropologist. MOO
Good, thanks, I started to doubt what I remembered because I can't seem to find the video, but I've watched 3000 videos about this, this week... One thing I wonder is if perhaps how colonized the bones are by microbes or anything might say something about TOD, something similar to what can be done with entomology. He didn't mention that anywhere as an option, so I have some doubts it might be possible, though I hope it is. JMO

Sure it’s possible. I think there was contact between the 4 of them up until very recently.

or the 13th, or even better, both. I agree @NuttMegg.
Don't you think the FBI would have been giving SB some plea terms, worst case scenarios as others have mentioned? Also I wonder if the last discussion with Brian and SB was with his parents present (That would make AB happy!) . On the 13th before Brian left, IIRC. And how quickly he left after the call from SB. I think there may be some vulnerabilities for the lawyer once we get a real timeline of communications 12 & 13 Sept. What if he was in a 4 person call on the 13th with SB, and immediately ran out afterwards. Oh I mean went for a hike. IMO

I’m looking forward to your link. I read an article that said in as little as 3 days a body can become a skeleton depending on the conditions. But now i can’t find the article and I’ve wanted to read it again.
We've all read & seen too much, lol. I know I saw him say it, I can even remember his shirt... still searching...

I hope the Laundries are not stupid enough to be paying SB for his publicity rounds. He may consider what he is doing as PR and rehabilitation of his clients, but it’s just churning up the muck and making the public more skeptical.
They should be FIRING him ASAP. But just my opinion. He is doing them no favors.

But doesn't a body survive longer in water?
Rivers, lakes, oceans etc.. is usually cool water so yes. Swampy, standing water in the Florida sun? Not the same. It’s likely to accelerate it rather than slow it down. IMO

How long was he planning to simply hang out in the swamp, drawing or writing in a notebook, while waiting to commit suicide?
This is assuming he was in the swamp from the start. MOO

I can't imagine that the Ls would encourage or assist BL to suicide.
That would be far, far more outrageous than anything they've been accused of so far.
I can imagine their house being in total turmoil with a wide range of emotions expressed.
It probably was not pleasant, especially after the NPPD showed up to conduct the wellness check.

<modsnip>

I don't know if he commited suicide or not, but I do wonder why the notebook, if that's what he intended. I can't imagine a person opting to sit out in a swamp for over a month and have nothing to do except doodle in a notebook. He would have known that all this would not die down for a long time. But OTOH, I wonder if his parents knew that suicide was his intention, IF it was. We may never know.
