GUILTY WY - Jesse Speer for kidnap, rape of 10yo girl, Cody, 8 Oct 2012

  • #901
Maybe I am wrong but I thought he escaped through the Cody entrance of the YNP I did not think he actually took the girl there. He would have had to go up through Gardiner entrance/exit to get home as the other one is open but you cant get past Cooke City as the Bear tooth pass is closed.

That could be right. Is there hunting allowed inside YNP?

Just so you know MS Facetious I don't for one believe that any of this Man's friends probably even knew what he was up to. I also frequent YNP regularly and take road trips etc with my husband and family. We also take pics of everywhere we go..it is a part time hobby of ours. I do however think it is suspect when a girl goes missing in an area that he was known to be in especially when it may even be a child of an acquantance of his. Should be checked out for sure.

I have no problem with looking at connecting THIS suspect to other crimes.

But when links are posted to other message boards that many people I know frequent... that freaks me out. :twocents:

Yes, that's where he went after he let the girl go.

He could have, but it's much more likely he went out through the West Yellowstone entrance and straight up US191. I don't think any of the passes are closed yet except for the Beartooth Highway.

Your right you can go either way..maybe it is closer through west yellowstone. Also when I was through YNP a couple weeks ago they had the road from Tower to Canyon closed off...the I think it is dunavan pass area in the park doing road work. And yes Beartooth is the only other road that is closed that I know of, cause that is the way I usually go into the park..and am bummed that it is closed as all the other entrances are such a long drive.

NO, no hunting..but you can fish.

Thanks. I looked back in this thread to when she was found and it says that it was on South Fork Road. That shows as being part of the national forest. I guess that isn't technically the YNP though, is that right?

I feel that way too. He used his own car, took a child in front of two of her friends in daylight in front of a building that likely had a camera, took her through the front entrance of the National Park that has cameras, left behind a crucial piece of evidence in the thule carrier, and apparently drove home after that, leaving (if rumor is correct) the pictures of the other girls in his vehicle. Either he is a really dumb perp, or he hasn't been doing this long.

I am grateful he made so many "mistakes".

I think he may have recently move to the dark side at the time his ex wife said he had recently changed the way he behaved and would not communicate with her. His wife may of had a gut feeling about about the way he looked at his girls....and got away as fast as she could from him....... and now she know why....just ramblin ....

Right, she was not found in the national park. Cody is about 60 miles east of the park's east entrance.

I just read that an FBI agent saw the vehicle while going through video footage from the NORTH entrance of the park. The FBI agent discovered the car in the footage on the 13th and that led to running his plate and ultimately arresting him that day. I have not yet read what day the footage was taken but I would suspect it was late on the night of the abduction. He no doubt few home as quickly as possible.

No, actually people WERE suggesting that.

People were suggesting a "ring" involving these photographers he is friends with.
Linking to OTHER photographers posts on other message boards made by OTHER photographers, not the suspect.

Stating he has friends in Westminster is fine. He has friends in just about every state in the country though.
Linking to a message board with posts by a friend... and many other photographers, in my opinion is not okay.

There was also suggestions that maybe his girlfriend and/or his ex worked with him like Homolka.
Posts are being deleted and that is good. You may not have seen the posts I'm referring to. I didn't respond to them directly.

But just know that you could easily be connecting a member of Websleuths to him through social networking.

That scares me. :what:

I am sorry & I am not trying to argue with anyone-but I never read any post like that-ring/gf involved!I did not bold that!

Too bad about the FB being gone.....I was cracking up at the posts people put.......first you read the praises of his work....then the next.....You sick *&%@.

Actually I was pretty alarmed at the things that people were writing. There were really morbid things that people were saying, about dismembering him, torturing him, etc.

Don't take that to mean that I am "taking sides" or anything like that. It's just, let's not lower ourselves to his level, ya know? It's better to STFU and let the courts handle this.

I actually flagged his FB page last night and sent a note to FB asking that it be blocked. I don't want those posts to do a single thing to damage the court case. I don't want there to be a single chance that our (rightful) anger could possibly create the conditions for the prosecution not to get a conviction.

MsFacetious, I read comments alluding to a "ring" earlier today. I saw them.
