Wonder if he's an RSO out of compliance with registering his current address? Or listed as transient? Maybe he's used that library before?

Bless you K., what a horrible thing and terrifying to have more evidence of how quickly these predators do what they intended to do.

BBM

That is quite chilling, the thought of how quickly he was 'done with her'. It's a bit of a grim wake up call with regard to those we are holding out hope for.

This has been a horrific experience for the poor girl and her family, and as a mum of an 11 year old girl it make me feel sick to the core, but how lucky they all are to find her alive.

I may have to revisit the paedophile poll and change my vote for the one that includes nails, b***ocks, cabin floor and fire.

Was she conscience when found?
I think this was not his first victim or his last.
Must catch him now!
If he dyes his hair it is very hard to cover white hair.
Who missed work, today?
Who might have scratches?
I hope someone turns him in.

GAM posted this over in Jessica's thread.
6. At approximately 8:15 p.m., the Park County Dispatch Center received a report of an 11 year old female walking down Spirit Mountain Road (also known as the Carter Mountain Access Road), which is located off the South Fork road (State Highway 291) just outside Cody. Shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that the found female was K. G.
7. K. reported that when she approached the suspect vehicle, the suspect brandished a ”pistol” and directed her to get into the front passenger seat of his vehicle.
8. The suspect then drove the victim onto Carter Mountain where he sexually assaulted her.
9. Upon her release by the suspect, she began walking down the road until she was picked up by a party of hunters hunting in the area.

She must have been so terrified! I'm not sure how the description went from a newer 4 door Toyota to a large SUV like a suburban. Does Toyota make a big SUV?

There must be some surveillance video of the vehicle somewhere. It would stand out with the water and backpack on the roof. I hope they are able to get his DNA and identify any tire tracks from the area of the assault.

Why oh why did her friend wait 45 minutes to report her being taken? Grrrr!

The original description from last night most likely came from her 2 friends that were waiting for her to return and they probably didn't pay close attention when she drove off with the guy because they didn't think enough of it being an issue. Today's description is most likely straight from K. as it is describing the interior and greater detail. It is probably a very accurate description. Just as when anything traumatic happens, it feels like slow motion and the senses are hightened so she probably got a good look at things. I just wish she had seen the license plate. This is where a forensic hypno-therapist could help by trying to retrieve the license plate from her memory.

If I understood correctly, the two other girls did not see the gun, so they may not have realized what happened until she didn't come back. (Just guessing.)

If they *did* see the gun, they might have been hiding afraid to come out for quite some time.

Random thoughts, but remember Sherry Arnold? She lived in Wyoming. It was suspected in the very beginning before the perps were identified that they were oil workers of some sort. Even one of the perps was from Colorado, wasn't he? I mean, I know it's not him, but perhaps that's an avenue worth looking into - some type of traveling oil worker.

ETA: Both were from Colorado: http://coloradoradio.com/2012/07/16/parachute-man-facing-death-penalty-in-montana/

ETA #2: Sorry, she lived in Montana, but I still think it is a possibility.

Hm, in that case, he might be heading to the Alberta oil fields or coal sands fields.

I remember distinctly during Sherry's case the townspeople were upset because housing options were very slim in their town and the oilfield workers were basically squatting in various Wal-Mart parking lots, etc. That would jive with the mattress being in the back of the SUV.

It's possible. It's most likely that he is not local to Cody. He is most likely temporary in the area or just passing through (on his way to his next victim). Given that it's hunting season, he could also be in that area to hunt.

I am disappointed that the search for him isn't front and center out our media outlets here in WY. We're doing our best to spread the info through social media but it would be helpful if there were big red alerts on all the newspaper/radio websites with the description of this monster and his vehicle and it would also be helpful if a sketch was put out of him. Gas station attendants need to have vivid descriptions of this guy. They need sketches of him on all the counters. If I had a sketch, I would personally go around town here and make sure the gas stations, fast food drive ups, grocery stores, etc, have his face on their counters and I know other moms in other towns here that would do the same. We could pepper Wyoming and Montana pretty quickly with his face.

The Sherry Arnold case was up near the MT/ND border. The oil/gas is booming in western ND right now. That is hours and hours from Cody, WY. Have to wonder why he was in Cody other than the is passing through or he's hunting. If he were heading to ND fields from the SW corner of WY, Cody would be a good day's driving distance from the oil fields in SW Wyoming, especially if he took the scenic route through Jackson and Yellowstone National Park. IF there are any cameras at the park's south or east gates, LE needs to pull the tapes to look for his vehicle. We really need a plate number to work with.

I wonder why they haven't released a still of the vehicle from the video surveillance?

I wasn't aware there was video surveillance. Where is the surveillance from? The library?

I thought from the library but maybe they had just been quoting witness statements...

Wouldn't the quickest way to the ND fields from Cody be to take US14 to Powell and then -- I forget the number -- north to Billings? Then you'd pick up I90/94 to the border. It'd still be hours, but quite a bit faster (I've driven that way to Billings a couple of times.)

The Athabasca tar sands seem much more likely: pretty direct route from Cody to there. Also, incidentally, from the Denver area where Jessica is missing:
