Shouldn't be too difficult to trace that Thule car carrier straight back to the buyer.

EXACTLY, and if there's a bar code on it anywhere, anyone with a smart phone can scan it and find out where it was purchased. This could give a clue as to what state this guy is from.

Or at least where he's been. I suspect he's highly mobile if not an actual drifter.

So that car top carrier would sure be an easy way to carry a body around. Hmmm....

New article on the case and it includes a new detail. One of the men who found her - his house has a view of the mountain they were on and his wife called them when they were heading out to go home for the night. She said she could see their headlights coming down the mountain. It wasn't there lights because they were still too deep in the woods. What they realized later was that she probably was seeing the headlights of the abductor. Eerie. http://www.codyenterprise.com/article_eab80e10-14be-11e2-84f2-001a4bcf887a.html

Thanks WY Girl, that's a moving story of those hunters finding her. It sounds like their gathering evidence and hope they can trace him from that carrier they found.

I am so, so thankful for those two men. I'm so glad they were led to be there that day.

I do have a question. I know the FBI is saying there is no link between this case and the Jessica Ridgeway case but why is Dave S. Joly, Federal Bureau of Investigations Denver Division media coordinator the one giving the information about the thing on the top of the truck being found?

I did not read this whole thread so sorry if the answer has already been given.

I think it's because both cases are being handled out of the Denver regional FBI office. He probably deals with dozens of cases.

Gotcha. I guess Wyoming doesn't have enough crime to need an FBI office there so Denver must be the closest office.

Actually there are FBI field offices in Lander, WY and in Cheyenne, WY. Billings, MT also has one.

Hm, I would have thought Cody would be out of Cheyenne or Billings. What county is it in?
