A couple people pointed out upthread that he looks younger than the description that the victim gave. I went through something similar when I was a few years older than this little girl, and I recently looked at a copy of the police report-I was very detailed and accurate in my description of him and his vehicle, but I had his age as in his late 50's, and said he was overweight. In reality he was in his late 30's and physically fit. Traumatic memory is processed differently than normal memory, and sometimes it distorts the way you remember a perpetrator. And while we might not see this alleged perp as "old", an 11 year old probably would.

IF this is him, I am glad he was caught. IF it is him, he has a wide range with his photography scanning many states. Maybe they will connect him to other crimes. Also, IF it is him, I am REALLY TICKED OFF that he is a photographer! I am a photographer and it sickens me that someone like this would be linked to my profession!

A 39-year-old Manhattan (Montana) man was being held in Gallatin County jail Sunday on charges of kidnapping, jail officials told the Chronicle Sunday.
Jesse Speer was booked into the jail at about 11 p.m., Saturday and was being held for Wyoming authorities at the request of the FBI. He was being held on $2 million bail.
Attempts to reach the FBI were not successful Sunday, but Speer is apparently a suspect in and the abduction of an 11-year-old Cody, Wyo., girl earlier this month.

I just don't see how a perp could escalate to the extreme of Jessica and then let this little one go. Seems backwards to me.

It doesn't fit.

I'm sure LE will take a close look.

If this is him, perhaps he has gray in his hair and/or facial hair that does not show up clearly in photos, making him appear older to a child.

I'm looking to see if he has any photographs in the area JR was discovered...my hair is standing on end here.

ETA-I wasn't sleuthing, just going by the last name!
