Mayor thanking everyone. Sending thoughts and prayers to Colorado and elsewhere that haven't ended as well.

Need to be smart and aware.

No, I think it means that they pulled more people into the case and tried harder to catch him, just in case he had the girls.

UPDATE: Cody Police Chief details abduction suspect arrest

Speer will appear in Gallitan County District Court at 1:30 p.m. today

Found this story on a link on the same site with a photo of the suspect: http://www.ktvq.com/news/speer-charged-in-wyoming-abduction/

The accompanying photo (while not a booking photo) sure looks to be the photographer we were sleuthing yesterday!

Presser over. Whew!

I'm surprised no one asked about the pictures of the other little girls.

  • #786
possibly wanted to keep him under surveillance for a while?

I believe that's exactly what he meant by 'forced to arrest'.

  • #787
So is he going to be taken to Montana or is Wyoming not gonna handle this?

He is in Montana now. He is wanted in Wyoming. He has to appear in court to go through the extradition process. Red tape, blah!

I keep hoping that this was actually his first offense, so that no other little girls have been hurt by him. If he did abruptly change a few months ago when he stopped talking to his ex, maybe that will be true.

He's 40.
I don't think he suddenly snapped and started committing these crimes.....or suddenly started fantasizing.

If he's linked to other crimes, it doesn't mean there are more past crimes; it's a chance to solve them.

Are we sure they didn't? I missed a few questions that ended with "no comment."

Between 6pm and 11pm booking I'll bet he was under a hot light bulb and a bare table staring at two FBI agents asking him where he's been lately.

  • #792
Exactly whether he took pics or not he committed a crime having them and whoever did it also....
Presser over. Whew!

I'm surprised no one asked about the pictures of the other little girls.

Oh me I thought it was the opposite...I thought Cody was in Wyoming, duh!!

They had a license plate and knew exactly who this was yet they were keeping him under surveillance before they were forced to arrest him.

This gives me hope that LE in Jessica's case also are watching a few people VERY closely before they make their move. This HAS to be a strategy for some reason.

The two girls in missing in Montana were located safe and unharmed, so I think that they were not abducted. But I bet it put enough fear into LE that the suspect could strike again that they expedited his arrest.

Hi. I've been sick and meds have had me too groggy to read much. So, not sure if anyone had come across this yet. Didn't see it in tags. Sorry, in advance, if it's duplicate.

This is from his ex-wife's blog today:

You are correct, Cody is in Wyoming.

You asked if he was going to be taken to Montana and I answered no, he is already there (as he was arrested there and is being held in jail there) but needs to go to Wyoming to be prosecuted because that is where the crime occurred.

Sorry I misunderstood what you were asking!
