The Feds, it's been done many times on cases. I'm surprised his lasted this long.

IF he did it then the "few months ago" when he stopped talking to his ex... could have been the turning point and could include Lizzy and Lyric.

A sudden change in behavior is also still a red flag for a brain tumor.
The guy who killed my cousins was a trusted babysitter, family friend, in wedding parties... etc. No history of violence at all.

One day he killed them both. The brain tumor in his frontal lobe killed him before his sentence could.

Brain tumors can grow really fast.. my Aunt died less than 4 months after diagnosis... WITH radiation and chemo.

didn't they hold off on releasing the Samantha Koenig perp's name at first because the was arrested by the fbi? (iirc that is) I think this could be the reasoning (across state lines, extradition, etc etc)

Been going through his site on wayback. His cousin died September 26, 2010, obit in paper September 28, 2010 & services held September 30, 2010. On October 16, 2010, he posted a poem (a very nice one I might say) to the memory of his cousin & dedicated a picture to him as well.

Same spans of dates make his arrest interesting.

Yes they stated in the news paper he was in the same car when they arrested him Thanks be to God .I hope they got DNA from his bloody nose.

They had a license plate and knew exactly who this was yet they were keeping him under surveillance before they were forced to arrest him.

This gives me hope that LE in Jessica's case also are watching a few people VERY closely before they make their move. This HAS to be a strategy for some reason.

They basically said that they got that plate number from the camera at the Yellowstone entrance. :rocker: I just had to call my husband who I told on the night of the abduction "I bet if they check for white trucks, SUVs, etc going through the east entrance of Yellowstone that evening, they'll get his plate info." :great: Oh yea, I was right. I even checked that night and found online that the park entrance was open until 9pm. Plenty of time for him to go back through town and hightail it into the east entrance of the park before the entrance closed down for the night. No doubt at all that he went out through the east entrance and then left the park through the west entrance to head north to Bozeman. They probably caught him on both cameras.:floorlaugh:

The little girl busted his nose

I haven't read anything that his nose was actually broken; however, one of the articles that quotes the hunters states that she said she kneed him in the nose and made his nose bleed.

Bozeman Police, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office and Belgrade Police are planning a 3 p.m. press conference at the Gallatin County Detention Center today regarding law enforcement’s role in the arrest of Jesse Speer.

Charging documents filed on Saturday in Park County (Wyo.) District Court identify the suspect in the abduction of an 11-year-old Cody girl as 39-year-old Jesse Paul Speer, of Manhattan, Mont.

Speer is scheduled for an initial appearance at 1:30 p.m. today in front of District Court Judge Holly Brown, according to Gallatin County attorney Marty Lambert.

Whoever he is, she kicked him in the nose and made it bleed...I hope she broke it.

Yay for our little hero! She fought back and survived...this guy will hesitate before doing this again!
