Bozeman Police, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office and Belgrade Police are planning a 3 p.m. press conference at the Gallatin County Detention Center today regarding law enforcement’s role in the arrest of Jesse Speer.

Charging documents filed on Saturday in Park County (Wyo.) District Court identify the suspect in the abduction of an 11-year-old Cody girl as 39-year-old Jesse Paul Speer, of Manhattan, Mont.

Speer is scheduled for an initial appearance at 1:30 p.m. today in front of District Court Judge Holly Brown, according to Gallatin County attorney Marty Lambert.

I have to say that this guy is pretty dumb. He passed so many cameras, how could he think he was getting away with this? Of course, don't a lot of profilers often say that these guys want to get caught in some instances?

I really have a feeling that this was his first time doing this. He probably didn't even think of cameras and I imagine if he has a cell phone, he would have left it on the entire time.

I really hope that there are no other victims.

The Enterprise reports that she told Mr Larsen her abductor had 'lots and lots of pictures of naked little girls' in the SUV.

She said she fought to get away from him. At one point, she kicked him in the face and bloodied his nose.

They did say he had no priors during the presser right? So, I guess that is the case. Listening to that conference, though, I just kept thinking that of all the routes this guy took, thank God he took the one that went past all of those shops with their video cameras.

Been going through his site on wayback. His cousin died September 26, 2010, obit in paper September 28, 2010 & services held September 30, 2010. On October 16, 2010, he posted a poem (a very nice one I might say) to the memory of his cousin & dedicated a picture to him as well.

Same spans of dates make his arrest interesting.

Did this cousin live in Arvada, Colorado?

Born in Kansas City & spent most of his life in Olathe according to his obit.

But Jesse loved to capture pictures all over the national forests in Colorado...

IF he did it then the "few months ago" when he stopped talking to his ex... could have been the turning point and could include Lizzy and Lyric.

A sudden change in behavior is also still a red flag for a brain tumor.
The guy who killed my cousins was a trusted babysitter, family friend, in wedding parties... etc. No history of violence at all.

One day he killed them both. The brain tumor in his frontal lobe killed him before his sentence could.

Brain tumors can grow really fast.. my Aunt died less than 4 months after diagnosis... WITH radiation and chemo.

My cousin died of a brain tumor 2 yrs ago. He was diagnosed in Dec and died in March. His personality never changed..but he did stagger when he walked etc. My father had a brain tumor as a child but it was taken out and no real ill effects except epilepsy later. I don't believe this man has a brain tumor..I think he is a sick Psycho child molesting perv...that needs to be taken out.

Anyone have any idea on that?

I also wonder why noone asked about the ruled out connection to the Jessica Ridgeway case ?

They said in the presser more charges are forthcoming. We should learn more after the arraignment at 3:30

Don't worry, I'm sure more charges are pending post-extradition.

As to Jessica's case, this is pure speculation, but I'm thinking there was DNA and/or he had an alibi that checked out.

Additional charges are expected as soon as forensic testing results are returned, I'm sure we'll see them. It's like a steam roller picking up steam as it goes along.

And my Aunt's personality didn't change either.
It depends on where the tumor is located.

My cousin started acting weird about a year ago... she had endless patience, to the point it's ridiculous.
She got impatient when kids weren't really doing anything... it was obvious something was seriously wrong.
A couple months later she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She still has very little patience and it is so weird to see her so different.

This suspect may not have a brain tumor.
But since he quit talking to his ex a few months ago and changed a lot... it's an interesting thought.
The man who killed my cousin's was only diagnosed because MY family defended him and said something had to be wrong.

IMO, they'll be adding charges. Maybe even attempted manslaughter due to the fact he deserted her after he assaulted her. The poor girl could have been murdered.
