Tranyelle Harshman, 32, shot her 4 young daughters, ages 9, 7, 2, and 2, called 911, and then shot herself. Her 7 year old daughter is fighting for her life still. Tranyelle herself passed away today.

Byron is a tiny, tiny town of around 500-600 people. This has rocked the entire state of Wyoming. A 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 has been started for the father (some sources say father/stepfather).

"Law enforcement agents were still investigating Tuesday, and Blackburn said there are signs of “depression and other very personal struggles” in this tragedy."

I suspected PPP or PPD. Horrible. Mental health resources in Wyoming are scarce, especially in rural areas.

"Big Horn County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeffrey Angell was the first agent to enter the home and was instrumental in the tactical clearance, said the sheriff.
“It’s something that’ll be stuck in my mind for the rest of my life,” said Angell. “I see my grandkids.”
Angell’s wife, Deputy Keri Angell, was on scene as well. She agreed: their family came instantly to mind.
The pair returned home at about 3 a.m. Jeff Angell said he didn’t sleep. They were both out of bed early, dealing with the aftermath of the scene, even caring for the Harshman family’s ducks and other animals."

I feel so bad for these first responders. I hope they take care of themselves.

“As angry as I may be with her, I still love her — and I still lost her as well,” he said.

Cliff pondered whether it was her fierce motherly love that factored into her sudden and suicidal snap, as if “she wasn’t going to leave the kids alone.”

Olivia, who was rushed by ambulance then flown to care, was still fighting for her life Wednesday morning, Blackmer told Cowboy State Daily.

She pulled through a brain surgery earlier this week and had a CT scan at about 8 a.m. Wednesday. The surgeon told Blackmer at 8:20 a.m. that the little girl didn’t appear to have major blood vessel damage.

The surgery was largely exploratory and involved some cleanup in the little girl’s brain, Blackmer added.

“Everyone here is optimistic,” he said

The girl is heavily sedated as medical professionals monitor her brain swelling. But she’s been twitching her feet; she responds to pain reception tests, and at one point when Blackmer told her he was going to go to the bathroom, she squeezed his hand as if to say, “stay.”

“My wife was not a monster,” said Harshman, while weeping.

He began the interview voicing frustration with how quickly news spread of his wife’s suspected murder-suicide before people had the chance to rationalize its possible triggers.

Tranyelle had been dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, post-partum depression and standard depression, Cliff said.

“Most people don’t understand how that affects the brain. It’s a chemical imbalance,” he said. “And it can be exacerbated by trying to fix it with medication.”

Cliff Harshman declined to go into the specifics of his wife’s treatment, but said she’d been seeking help and receiving treatment.

Harshman is the biological father of the two younger girls, ages 2 and 3, who died on scene Monday, but he’s been raising the older two, ages 7 and 9, as well, he said.

Pray For Olivia
[snip]
Though the two dads didn’t get along well in the years after Blackmer and Tranyelle Harshman’s divorce, they’re leaning on each other now, they both said.

“I was thankful for (Blackmer),” said Cliff.

[snip] having Blackmer in his life is a ray of light in all the tragedy, he said

Cliff loves Olivia as his own, he added.

As for Blackmer, he voiced gratitude for Cliff and said the man has been asking constantly after Olivia’s wellbeing and praying for her.
Husband Of Woman In Byron Murder-Suicide Says She Was Depressed, Struggling

'Olivia has suffered severe traumatic brain injury and is fighting hard for her life! She is in critical condition; the next few days will be crucial for her outcome.

'We know Brailey is watching over her baby sister from the other side, helping her fight for her life!'
Mom executes her three young daughters before shooting herself

The two fathers, once at odds, have been drawn together by this awful event. I am very glad to read that, Olivia needs both of them so very much right now.

The Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the shooting in the small town was reported at about 1:30 p.m. when a 911 call was made from a woman reporting gunshots inside a residence and "further reported her daughters had been shot."

The woman also told the dispatcher the locations of the girls inside the house. Two children would be located upstairs in their cribs and two children would be located downstairs in the bedroom they shared, the press release states.

The woman then told the dispatcher she could be found in her upstairs bedroom and that she was going to shoot herself.

He is the bio dad of 2
Cliff is the biodad of the two youngest, aged 2 and 3, and Quinn is the biodad of the 7- and 9-year-olds. As I write this, the 7-year-old is the only child who is still alive.

Quinn is remarried, and has an infant son with his wife. It sounds like he was as involved in their upbringing as he could be, not living in the same town.

Just horrible. Almost beyond words. How could a mother do this to her children? Yet it seems to me to be more and more of these kind of murders. Mothers murdering their children. Children murdering their parents. Fathers murdering their children. What a vile world we lie in , IMO. RIP angels. Husband should probably shut down the mother's facebook site because lots of people are posting about their frustration with what she did there. JMO

“I can say this wholeheartedly: I am very grateful they made their move here,” he said. “They brought smiles that made our school glow. They had many friends, they’re academically smart individuals.”

And they were kind to others, said Honeyman, “Two of the kindest kids in the world.”

“I’m a mess,” he said in a phone interview. “I’m so angry. I don’t even know how to explain this to you. I’m so angry with her for the decision that was made,” he said.
Tranyelle Harshman

“People don’t understand how mental illness isn’t just a willpower thing. It’s chemical imbalances in your brain.” Harshman told KTVQ of the post-traumatic stress disorder and postpartum depression his wife had battled for at least five years
