This says she is in a prison hospital. Let's hope it is true. She really needs to be in a jail cell.

I was reading what Kevin Krim said about looking at his newborn baby Lulu and finding himself already agreeing to buy her a new car on her 16th birthday.

I just wonder if he said things like that in front of the nanny and she was jealous of the children and how privileged their lives were going to be?

"I love this line in particular: "Everything she wants, I see she gets."

When I read this, I must admit that immediately I thought of the Nanny bringing her son to America, and getting that new apartment and getting herself in financial debt. Was she trying to give her child "everything he wants?"

The Krims were fabulous parents, but not because they were financially able to give their children any material thing they might want.

I heard him speak at the memorial and read everything I can on FB that the Krim family writes. My heart is still with them, and they can ask me to go to the moon for them and I would.

I do not really care if he said these things in front of the Nanny.
She deserves to get the DP no matter what. BUT, but, but NY is not a DP state.

I too was hoping the "B" is in a prison hospital when I read it. I was furious that she was taken to a very good hospital, not to Belleview a state hospital with a large Mental Health wing.

GOD BLESS THE KRIM'S.... on thier way back to NYC. Driving through the U.S. with friends...

I love that line too :) and it is part of a song.

I don’t know why she brought her son here, he is 18 (I think) she did not raise him most of his life, his grandma raised him.
Maybe you are right, maybe she brought him here in hope that she will get more from the Krim family, more and more. I imagine the gifts, trips, designer clothes was not enough, I cant talk about her with out saying the “B” needs to get DP.

I love that Marina is writing and healing. I am thrilled she is letting us all know how they are doing.
I think of her every single day, I pray for all of them all the time.

FROM Marina Krim on Facebook:
"It's Day 6 and we are heading through Arkansas, getting close to Graceland. We've completed over half of our journey.

On the road, we've been listening to our "Lulu and Leo Playlist". We lulled the babies to sleep to Pink Martini’s sweet songs, rocked out to "Call Me Maybe" at Auntie Teddy and Marky's wedding, and listened to Lulu create her own lyrics to her favorite Lady ...Gaga songs. Little Lito had even started singing along to "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers and telling me "like that song" when he watched a Charlie Brown DVD.

Each song gives us comforting memories of our Lulu and Leo."
Lulu & Leo’s Playlist

Hang On Little Tomato – Pink Martini
How I Love You – Rob Laufer
Over the Valley – Pink Martini
The Show – Lenka

From Marina and Kevin Krim --
We have made it to NYC after 11 days, 13 states, 3,300 miles, and countless beautiful moments. It was an amazing trip and we learned so many new things. Our journey forced us to live in the present -- we didn't want to miss any part of the beautiful landscape going by out the window. We have a new appreciation for Santa Fe's art and food, Oklahoma's rolling hills, Asheville's grand Biltmore, and Elvis Prestley (Graceland is a must see!). We bonded with our travel companions and most importantly made new unique family memories with Nessie.

Leo was on our mind as we drove through the Southwest -- the huge red-rock landscape made the many freight trains look like his beloved multi-colored toys. We could hear Lulu giggling at the ducks marching through the lobby of the Peabody hotel in Memphis. We are thankful that Lulu and Leo gave us the strength and inspiration to take this trip.

Thank you again for all the love, generosity and support.

Krim Family-- Press Information

A request from Kevin and Marina Krim regarding use of photography
We have been very touched by the tremendous outpouring of support and kindness that we continue to receive.

We would greatly appreciate that members of the press or anyone else who writes about our family please refrain from using images of our daughter Nessie. There is nothing more important to us than protecting her privacy and affording her the opportunity to grow up privately.
Thank you.

from WWP's link:

But when the case was called, the court clerk informed Judge Gregory Caro that Ortega was still in Elmhurst Hospital in Queens for either physical or psychological reasons, or perhaps both. The judge suggested rescheduling to Feb. 6.

when was YO moved to this hospital? wonder why...

I do not know when YO was moved. But the hospital she was in was a FINE hospital, I personally resented that she was not in another hospital.
The Hospital in Queens is a far different caliber, with Mental Health section.
(The State Hospital in Manhattan with a Mental Health section was devastated during the Sandy Storm, and many were moved to other hospitals).
GLAD SHE WAS REMOVED FROM THE BETTER HOSPITAL. She did not deserve it.

NOT positive about Elmhurst hospital having a Mental Health Section, but it is a state/city hospital.
Belleview in Manhattan also a state/city hospital. (devastated during the storm)
She belongs in Belleview known for having a large Mental Health Section (lock down).

Family of children allegedly slain by nanny returns home to New York

Ellen Wulfhorst, Reuters
Friday, January 18, 2013 1:03:01 EST PM

NEW YORK - The New York City family, whose two young children were murdered allegedly by their nanny, has returned home from a cross-country road trip that helped them to “live in the present,” they said in a Facebook posting on Friday.

The 11-day journey was part of an effort to heal, following the deaths of Leo Krim, 1, and Lulu Krim, 6, who were fatally stabbed on Oct. 25 in their Manhattan apartment, the family said on Facebook.

Yoselyn Ortega, the children’s nanny, is accused of the murders.

Parents Kevin and Marina Krim, in a posting Friday on a Facebook page called the “Lulu & Leo Fund,” said that their 13-state trip through the Southwest and South, which began Jan. 2, allowed them to make “new unique family memories with Nessie,” their surviving 3-year-old daughter. The page was launched to raise money for children’s education in memory of Lulu and Leo.

---- SNIP ----

Ortega pleaded not guilty to first- and second-degree murder charges in November from a hospital where she was recovering from her self-inflicted wounds and slated for psychiatric examination.

Ortega’s next court date is scheduled for Feb. 8.

From Marina Krim - as posted on Faebook.

Lulu and Leo continue to make the rounds -- this morning, my sister found this little blue origami "Leo" star on the ground in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, while walking to the subway.

For Lulu and Leo's memorial service, I felt that, in my typical fashion, we needed a "party favor." Kevin and I had told Nessie that Lulu and Leo were forever in the stars, so I felt that two origami stars would be the perfect way for our guests to take home a token of their spirits. I shared this idea with my family, and they proceeded to sit around a large table for over 20 hours crying, laughing, sharing memories, and folding over 1,000 origami "Lulu and Leo" stars -- a large one for Lulu, and a smaller one for Leo. I'm certain Lulu and Leo were cheering them on while they made all those stars.

(there is a photo of what we got at the memorial service, on FB link)

Here's a link to the directions to make an origami ("shuriken" or ninja) star...and good luck, it's much harder than it seems!!!

I would really like to know why this woman is still in the hospital instead of a jail cell. Is she paralyzed, or just faking some psychological disorder to keep her out of a cell and in a comfy bed.

I can't remember another time where a prisoner stayed in the hospital this long. Didn't Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter go to jail in a wheelchair after he was paralyzed?

I do not know; just think she is in a Mental Health Ward, Which is a lock down.
However the last article I have read said she had an officer outside her room, so who knows?

The mental wards do have a lock down. She can’t leave.
But it is still far more comfortable then a jail cell. :(

Military veteran nannies are the new must-have for helicopter parents

If you want a nanny who mixes the capability of Mary Poppins with the gung-ho attitude of G.I. Jane, look up former Navy SEAL Jonathan Gilliam. He's founded Tactical Nannies, which is recruiting female military veterans to work as child carers. "These women are protecting the future of the USA," said Gilliam, boasting that his employees "can change diapers as easily as they can reload a semiautomatic." He was inspired to start to business after the tragic deaths of Lucia and Leo Krim, aged six and almost two, who were allegedly murdered by their nanny Yoselyn Ortega in New York City in 2012.
