This is sadly what society has become, perhaps the young boy never got them as many “subscribers” as they foresaw. It seems as though the novelty wore off pretty fast and they looked for a quick way out.

An interesting article about “adoption influencers” featuring Myka Stauffer.

Myka Stauffer and the Aggressively Inspirational World of “Adoption Influencers”

Thanks for posting. There seems to be a whole world out there that I know very little about. I’m still racking my brain over what type of behaviors Huxley could have been exhibiting (if this is in fact the truth) that would lead to his adoptive parents giving him away. Think about how attached you get to children and even pets .. if you love someone, I would think giving them away would be devastating. Maybe I’m being too judgmental, but doesn’t it seem Psychopathic? I used to naively go through life thinking most people were good hearted. The internet sure has exposed how many rotten people there are! They have always existed, but now we are more aware of them.

Well, for what it's worth and take it with a grain of salt because it's youtube - the youtube rumour mill is digging up everything it can about this couple, and it appears that they've been trying for some time to become rich and internet-famous with different schemes. They hit the big one with adoption vlogging, I guess. Youtube monetisation really brings out the worst in people, and it's getting worse lately.

Wow, perhaps I’ll dig around. I shouldn’t be surprised after what I’ve seen people do on YouTube regarding crime. I’m thinking about the Chris Watts fan Club.

My first thought was narcissistic after looking at her Instagram. My thinking is that if it got too hard for her, and Huxley’s needs made it impossible for her to keep up her facade of perfection and be the center of attention, he would be discarded. Someone can also be a psychopath/sociopath along with narcissism, so you could be right, but narcissism jumped out at me first. Social media seems to be a perfect place for someone like that to show off and get attention.

Just like other celebrities, these people are only as good as the people who watch them. So if everyone unsubscribed to these pages, they will go away. They should be charged for using a child the way they did. I didn't think "Rehoming" was legal in this country.

Why Did These YouTubers Give Away Their Son?

This is interesting from the perspective of what would have happened to this child if these people didn't give him up for readoption.

Getting placed away from these folks was probably the best option for this child. He was just a vehicle to increase the digital footprint for the money hungry YouTube, video blogging lifestyle.

I know of an evangelical "Christian" family that did this. Adopted multiple siblings, made a big announcement about it, received donations, and then months later announced they had had them "re-homed". The husband is very involved in religious recruitment at a well known university in the South. They have also made a living being sponsored for "missionary" trips overseas.

That is terrible. I have never even "re-homed" a dog. Let alone a child.

Ouch! Good point, @mickey2942. SMH. I have never before heard of the words "re-homed" or "re-homing" when referring to a person. How cold that sounds -- especially when an adoptive parent would use it. It makes me shiver.
