Zahra Baker Search and Recovery Effort and Input

I took your thoughts of areas deserted enough to drop off a body here in Caldwell County and decided to take a map & mark the addresses where EB has lived. Just here in this county although I did include the house Zahra lived in when she disappeared.

I also marked the Drag Strip Road because I saw that it was close to the Carefree Ct address she had. I know that road well and you are right about it having many, many dirt roads off of it where mischief can be done.

Just thought it might help to give an overview of her background of the area with where LE have discovered two pieces of evidence away from the house - the leg and the bone.

I'm seeing Dudley Shoals turning into Fowler for a short way, then turning back into Dudley Shoals, which goes straight back to Hickory Blvd.

Let me double check, though.

Yep. Dudley Shoals becomes Fowler becomes Dudley Shoals, so no need for any side roads at all. Straight shot back to Hickory Blvd.

Actually dudley shoals goes under 321 to the other side so you have to through the town of granite falls to get to the begining. Just so everyone knows this. There would be additional roads this route.

I started this route today with a little detour on Satterwhite and Ebenezer because blocks....coming from alexander county. Total time with stopping to get gas at pappys" 1 hr from alex county to old landfill past carefree and back...going slower than average too.

Thanks for posting that, Wenwe, and thanks to Free for the great map. I've been very busy the past several days, so I don't get to read everything, and I missed it. Anyway, I absolutely agree with both of you about the Carefree Ct/Drag Strip Rd area. It caught my eye because of the many little dirt roads and the trails.

Okay, but I'm now convinced that 4010 Phillip Lane and Mission Rd. is the link I was missing. It's the anchor to my loop, anyway. And it explains the Christie/Ekard dump, so I'm going with it. Neighbors did see EB/AB there. I'm starting to believe it was during this dump ride. Maybe they dumped there, maybe they changed their minds, who knows? But I believe they were there and THAT'S why the loop follows Lower Cedar to Christie and then up to Dudley Shoals/Burns.

That's my summary. I'm going to bed for real now.

Ok I added 2 markers to my map just north of the search site today. I am curious did anyone else notice the junk by the stream up above where I have it marked? After seeing the tracks leaving this area today it makes me believe this is an access rd to the stream towards the search area. My next question is what about source saying it was put in the water farther up and they are searching the resevoir falls area because of all the rain and this is the first area the water seems to pool up at? Just a thought. I agree. If I had a body in my car i would take the 127 route there to avoid 321 but I would want to take 321 to hightail it back home!! Gotta keep in mind too that these 2 had warrants so they would want to avoid LE....hum...never thought about that but 127 has several DUI road blocks at night....321 not so much. Never thought about that until now. What routes would be less likely to avoid a roadblock....wonder if I can find a list of recent police setups for the past month or 2 . I'll have to work on that tommorow. Going to get up early and try to grab some shots at the site.

What an EMOTIONAL PULL little Zahra has had on me. I am sure most of you have heard of my own battle with childhood cancer, chemo, radiation, recurrances, the like....

It is HARD ENOUGH to survive cancer as a child let alone have to endure what she must have. I was lucky enough to have parents that supported me, held me like the fragile egg they thought I was ((((but let me tell you... childhood cancer survivors are HARD EGGS!!! TRUST ME I AM ONE)))) But to know that my parents and everyone else around me treated me as parboiled... that was fine with me. The support overwhelming. I still carry in my purse a piece of a prayer cloth that friends prayed over for me.

I am sick... absolutely SICK that Zahra will never get to exert the strength on the world that she would have gleaned from being a childhood cancer survivor. I am LIVID that someone... a HUMAN BEING (or multiple humans) took this life that she fought for. Her body defied her and she told it off... only to have her ultimate dignity and strength from that survival robbed from her by EVIL!

I will never ever forget this little girl and I want all of her found. Every bit and piece. She deserves AT LEAST THAT.

Zahra Baker Case: Missing Girl Update, Authorities Found Additional Evidence
Zahra Baker case - missing girl update. The Zahra Baker case continues, and there's an ambiguous lead in the case. Police say that they found something at a search site roughly 20 miles from the Baker home. They won't elaborate on what they found, but say that they need to look at whatever it is they found more closely before drawing conclusions.

I get google alerts all day about Z. And I found this one to very interesting. I wanted to let you all know about this. Also, I have looked up just to make sure that I am correct what the word ambiguous means.

Which I am guessing means that there are one or more story being told about the same account. Which in my brain says that maybe, (forgive me if I am wrong) AB has possibly been talking to the police. It would make much more sense if that was the case. I hope that I have not posted something people already know. I just got off of work and put this together. I have also posted the websites that I have visited to get the info. Hope it helps.

IMHO I think that EB and AB are going to tell on each other and keep doing it until one of them gives up more info and leads them to more evidence to pin it on the other one. Whatever the case may be these two are twisted individuals and they are monsters and should be punished. I just hope that there is enough evidence to get them both.

Most of the time pop ups. Uusally on 127 just after you cross bridge. Sometimes locals can see them setting things up and know but there is only 2 other ways to get across Catawba River if you know ahead of time: 321 or 16. I dont know anything about Caldwell countys and how they do theirs. With it being election year we seen an increase in them from about July until end of Sept. They started popping them up on side roads in Bethlehem area( wildlife access rd and rink dam rd, shiloh church rd) secondary to drugs but I don't see them coming through that area- just knowing some about where her exes family are. But they like to do them coming from Catawba because they sell alchohol and Alex is dry except city limits, and if I'm not mistaken so is Caldwell County except city of lenoir???

Ok, just a note.
Yes, LE looks at WS all the time. Tricia has said so countless times. Not just this case but a ton of others too. There is useful information on here, they know it. That is ultimately what this board is for is it not?
Another note, while the FBI, the SBI, the DEA and so on all have more resources, they do not have UNLIMITED resources. And they are just as human as everyone else. Again, this is not crime tv, this is not Criminal Minds or CSI NY or LA or Vegas or Singapore.
There are a whole lot of departments that do not have designated people for much of anything. The majority of LE depts are not the LA, NY, Boston types. They are tiny and not used to or prepared for anything like this. If they are smart they will look for help anywhere they can find it.
There has been more than one occasion where I have been running plans and had a good sam come to the CC and say "I jog this park everyday, can I help?" Ummm, yea, cuz that perspective is something I am just not going to get staring at a bunch of topos and trail maps. It is true some groups are very closed, and for their sake I hope they have the best of the best, because if not then they just cut out potentially a lot of good info.

sarx, I never implied that LE does not read here. I have been at WS long enough to know they do. My earlier comments were not meant to disparage the good work that has been done here. LE has the same (and more) resources we have as far as google maps, Bing, and so forth. They have people who are very familiar with the areas they are searching in. IIRC, they have also had people from Wildlife and Fisheries with them. What I did say is that LE was going by having interviewed AB and EB (even though they aren't talking now), as well as following any tips/leads they are getting in.

These maps are very interesting as well as helpful to see just what LE is up against. It is like searching for the proverbial needle in the haystack and my heart goes out to them. The maps from yesterday are great for showing where LE was searching.

Please know that we are all here for Zahra because we care - all of us. My granddaughter is at Pope AFB and is Security Forces as well as a dog handler. Her husband is at Ft. Bragg. This is just killing them because if LE were to let the GP in on the search, they would be there. They also had wanted to help with the search for Shaniya but could not.

My intention is not to disrupt the thread at all. I do not know of a thread that I have posted in with the wrong intentions. So, peace, and hopefully today will be Zahra's day.

Oh I hadn't seen these addresses it would be very common route if she knows the area as well as I think to go down falls to grace chapel rd to dudley or even hit bowman rd to dudley....gosh so many possibilities. I am going to wait until some more news today before redoing my map. But i thought about millpond because it has large access to just drive a car down in it. but its pretty populated and thinking of the police and they frequent this area because the speed limit is 25 and 35 until after this bridge. BUT this Falls Avn is the route off 321 you take - turn left off the exit coming from HKY and then go to the town and make a right to get on dudley shoals itself. Just to let you know
