Question for the locals. Are there any other radio towers out there other than the one off of Chirsty and Ekard?

Yep, here ya go

On Tuesday, teams searched a site off of Indian Grave Road, just north of Lenoir and 10 miles north of the Christie Road location.

Officials said that the 32 searchers were unable to find any evidence on Tuesday.

Thanks. So I see no need to continue northward. Not at the moment anyway. But I do have to wonder what made them check out that area to begin with. LE has visited the area several times, according to what I've read. Curious.

Anyway, I've been in the Dragstrip Rd. area all morning. I see all sorts of things there that pique my interest. So much so, in fact, that I'm having a hard time putting together a reasonable train of thought. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

On Freezer Locker rd. there's a business called Timber Wolf Forest Products. Looked them up, and they sell custom made wood products. No idea if they buy wood locally or not. Just thought that was kind of interesting, so I'm tossing it out there.

Next to Timber Wolf Forest Products is a business called Carolina Base-Pac. A cursory search of this business lists them under pallet makers/ wood merchants.

ETA: across Freezer locker, very near these 2 businesses, is what appears (to me anyway) to be an auto salvage yard or repair place, and what looks like alot of trash, tires, etc.

Search for Zahra continues in Caldwell Co.; police await DNA info

HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - Search teams are combing a new site in Caldwell County on Wednesday for evidence related to the investigation of Zahra Baker, the missing 10-year-old girl.

Crews began searching at an area near Dudley Shoals Drive and Burns Road in Caldwell County at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Officials said the area, which has been searched before, was one of the locations that Elisa Baker suggested search crews look.

Monday, investigators they focused on paperwork which must be done, reviewing and re-evaluating their evidence. Police are also interviewing tipsters. On Tuesday, teams searched a site off of Indian Grave Road, just north of Lenoir and 10 miles north of the Christie Road location.

Officials said that the 32 searchers were unable to find any evidence on Tuesday.

nvestigators from the Hickory Police Department joined forces with Caldwell County deputies and the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Services to search a three-mile stretch of Indian Grave Road in the Patterson community north of Lenoir, said Chief Tom Adkins of the Hickory Police Department. "We're up here with 15 to 20 searchers with support from the Red Cross,'' Adkins said. "They're searching about three miles alongside the road and one area about 50 feet off the roadway.''
He described the search area as a winding road that switches from paved to dirt. The areas searched on Christie Road last week and off Dudley Shoals earlier were scattered with decomposing animal carcasses and bones. Adkins said investigators have found what appear to be animal bones along Indian Grave Road as well, though he declined to specify what investigators are looking for.

When I done a circle sweep clock wise. From the house, to Chirsty rod to dudley shoals, going farther clock wise is 127 and Devil Track rd. I know they keep going North. I think that reason is because of where she has lived. This area right here looks like there is a salvage yard. Somewhere, I heard about a MC. For some reason I thought about that when I seen the salvage yard.

Attorney Scott Reilly is representing Baker on her current charges. Attorney Lisa Dubs has been provisionally assigned to the case in anticipation of possible murder charges against Baker.

Baker did provide some information to police through her attorneys on Oct. 25. That cooperation has stopped.

"We have not been contacted by Elisa Baker's attorneys for some time now,'' Adkins said.

Caldwell County has now shut down traffic around the Zahra search location and asked FAA to limit our chopper flight to 3000 ft.

Gunpowder Creek is right up Hickory Bvd. Just past Pine Mountain Rd. from what I'm seeing.

OK, just a heads up, choppers being pushed back does not mean that they have found anything. Media had been told yesterday where the search would be, and because they knew it was a repeat area that got them excited so up the choppers went. Helicopters are INCREDIBLY annoying while you are trying to search. They are distracting, and loud and a pain. An awful lot of the time they get pushed back just for that reason and nothing more. So, while it is exciting, let's just play the waiting game and see what happens.

I wonder what that means? Do they always shut down traffic around a search site?

If they are anywhere near the road yes, often they do. Safety wise it's the smart and right thing to do. You get so immersed in what you're doing you don't remember to look both ways!

I have a creek going under a bridge on Pine Mtn. marked, wonder if that's the right creek? Going to check.
