Zahra Baker Search and Recovery Effort and Input

And I didn't even have to drink anything to see it...naturally crazy.

It definitely looks like the red clay dirt we see all over this part of the state, don't you think? The color of it does make me think it was recently turned, which would fit with what sarx was saying about it having been removed to unblock the road.

Dave Faherty (WSOC) also confirming police found something today...said he knew something was up around 1:00 pm. Search was supposed to end about that time, but instead, media were asked to clear out. LE may be on scene overnight.

Searchers were using paddles in murky, cold water looking for Zahra's remains. Same place police checked 3 weeks ago when EB was brought there with LE. They are searching 1/2 mile either direction, and there are evidence markers where animal bones were found.

Says Zahra's biological mother is soon to be on her way here!

Im about 2 hours west of the search area but our forecast says no chance of rain until Sunday evening

LOL...I editted. I checked weather.com and we're clear too. I forgot about daylight savings time, hence the reason it looks dark. D'uh. Wind is definitely picking up, though.

I also think that morning they had the fire at the house and he claimed to go out "to interview for a job" until 2:00, he had done some major body hiding or something of that nature. They wanted to have everything set before calling on the fake kidnapping.

If HE DID...strew her body remains...here and there...out of the car window...like tossing out litter...WHAT A MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!....HORRIBLE!!!

I can't even IMAGINE...a father doing that to his little ill and crippled daughter...

If he was going to conceal her body....USE SOME DIGNITY..about it..after all she was a human being....and his little daughter...Didn't she matter????
What did she EVER do...that would warrant her body being destroyed in pieces by her OWN father???? It just boggles my mind and brain....moo

Am I mistaken or didn't she say she wouldn't come unless they found ZB, because she would only be in the way?

On HLN Mike Galanos just had a very short statement on Zahra.
That area is a no media, no fly zone etc now.

Dignity and concealing the body of a child don't go hand in hand. jmo

There is nothing dignified about concealing a death of a child and not laying them to rest with the love and respect any human deserves.

A child is not a pet that you bury in the backyard (or underground anywhere you think they won't be found)
A child is not trash.

1st post but my heart breaks for this child.

Even if you are lazy or unfeeling or just don't give a darn, I can't imagine what it takes to dismember a human being. That is a level of sick that goes beyond understanding. I can't watch gore at the movies...I can't imagine what mentality it takes to consider and execute a plan such as this.

To live in a home with two people capable of such behavior shows this child never had a chance.

oh and Mike G said AB had been in the area yesterday but not today.
With his lawyer if I caught that right..........
I found that very interesting.........did AB talk??? finally???

Deal said the Hickory Police Department has not spoken to Elisa or her attorneys in about a week-and-a-half. However, he said they have “had some conversations” in the last few days with Adam Baker’s attorney, Mark Killian. Deal would not elaborate on what those conversations were about.

Killian said they are cooperating with police.

Welcome, Wagara. That's the same thought that keeps running through my mind! Picking deserted areas you're familiar with, and [allegedly] just tossing things out of the car presents such a picture of laziness, IMO. BUT, the activites that lead up to that, and what it must have been like, are beyond my comprehension. Such a paradox. And something I'll never understand.

Welcome to WS...

I agree with you....It would have to be someone SICK..to BE ABLE..to EVEN THINK..about...much less...COMMIT the act..of dismembering a body...
It would take someone with a pretty strong stomach..with all that is involved in removing body pieces/parts....(so sorry and apologize to any)
SICK SICK SICK...whoever done this.....to little Zahra...

I think Zahra's biological Mother has made her feelings about AB very clear, so he had best stay out of her way if she does arrive in Hickory. Please God, do not let her be on NG or even JVM. GB her.

What it looked to me the officers were looking at was maybe a recently dug hole. It was stated that they were moving leaves away. Oh, I so want Zahra to be found, but I am so afraid to hear just what might have been found today.

Prayers for little Zahra.

After investigators leave the scene, a few officers will remain behind to keep the area secure overnight, Deal said.
After 33 days, some may wonder if Zahra will ever be found. However, Deal said law enforcement will continue the search for what happened to Zahra until they have an answer.
“We’ll work until every investigative lead is exhausted,” he said, adding that hasn’t happened yet.

If they aren't finding something (I believe they are of course).... wouldn't this be a great way to squeeze AB/EB? 'No fly zone', 'no reporters', etc. AB would only know the general area of the search and LE can throw out any tidbit to the media they want.

Ok, maybe it is just the way it is written, but I have a real problem with a bobcat going in and trampling an area that could contain evidence.
