GUILTY NY - Levon Wameling, 9 months, Utica, 29 May 2013

ITA, Norwegian. I hope she is getting counseling and learns to make much better decisions about her choices in men in the future and who she allows into her home. If she feels she can ever trust again, that is.

She is also a recovering addict (she was in rehab when Levon died). I can't imagine being newly sober & trying to stay sober in the face of this tragedy. I'm sending her positive thoughts.

Me too. I hope she has lots of support around her and knows people around the world are praying for her serenity and strength. One day at a time.

"After extensive DNA testing conducted by the Onondaga Medical Examiners office, the remains of Baby Levon Wameling have been identified as those that were recovered from the Mohawk River earlier this month.

"The Utica Police continue to investigate this case, with the hope that the truth will be learned and the person(s) responsible are held accountable.

"The UPD will not have any further information to offer in this case this weekend. There has been no cause of death ruling by the M.E.'s office. When more information is learned we will release it when appropriate."

God and Levon and the " dad" know the COD. May he never sleep another wink in his life that isn't tortured and plagued with despair!
Rest little angel boy. You are loved :)

CNN said yesterday that the dad was in custody for an unrelated burglary charge and then 1-2 says later Levon was found. So it may be that the sad told them where to find him BUT I hope that wasn't part of a plea deal. He needs full prosecution. Especially for making up a whole stupid story - I mean really, who would steal a baby off a front porch in the middle of the night.

I think we all knew this would be how this case ended, sadly. I'm glad that his body has at least been recovered and hopefully justice can be served, and swiftly.

Strong possibility' of prosecution in apparent death of Utica baby Levon Wameling, D.A. says

Over the past few days we have been asked numerous questions about recent developments in the disappearance and apparent death investigation regarding 9-month-old baby Levon Wameling. The District Attorney's Office will not be offering public comment upon specific information, status of evidence or any other facts or circumstances as we continue to review and evaluate the Wameling case.

Because of the strong possibility of a future prosecution arising out of the investigation, any such commentary at this juncture would be premature, contrary to ethical standards and may have the potential to jeopardize the integrity of any such prosecution. In seeking justice for baby Levon, we shall continue to thoroughly review the entire matter to its conclusion, at which time we shall make such commentary as the law allows."

Good for LE to say that. To me, it means things are happening, but they need to gather all evidence and be completely ready for a prosecution.

And to momma, I can only send good vibes and a message for hope and recovery. Stand strong girlfriend, stand strong!

They have swings where the baby is in a cradle car seat looking thing. I imagined it was something like that...not very different than a bassinet and could easily be within reach of the bed.

A swind of any sort is not approved infant sleeping device. Under the age of one year infants should be on their back in a crib or basinette with a firm base. No blankets toys or pillows or other adults or children should be in the sleeping area.

they may not be approved, but on some nights all three of mine slept in a swing (of course they were strapped in and I was in a chair next to them)
