Rules that need addressed are below:

1) We are a discussion board that is victim friendly. This thread is to discuss the trial. There is a reason why the words **adult content** are in the title of this thread. Some of the content may be offensive to some. If it happens in the trial you can discuss it.

2) DO NOT DISCUSS OTHER POSTERS! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPENING AGAIN.

3) Don't tell others how to post. This thread is to discuss the trial and if you don't like a particular topic that is being discussed change the subject or roll past the post.

4) Humor is okay but don't take it too far.

5) If you see a post that concerns you ALERT IT! DON'T RESPOND TO IT! Little red triangle upper right hand corner of the post.

6) NAME CALLING AND NAME VARIATIONS ARE A :nono:

7) Do not discuss the victim's family members. You can discuss them in general, express your condolences, etc but DO NOT sleuth them, speculate about them, etc.

8) I think that is all.. but come on folks! This is not hard... just be polite and follow the above. If you want to do something to pass the time during the break check out the Jodi Arias interviews and statement thread.

You are all good peeps..

Now get back to werk

:werk:

Folks: if you are just joining the thread.... NO off color or sexual jokes please. Discuss the testimony only. :nurse:

I don't have TV, so clue me in. How does TA's friend know that TA did not have sex on the day he baptized JA?

She doesn't "know" in the sense that she was not there to witness it. She explained that based on her knowledge of Travis and the way he conducted himself, she did not believe the story of anal sex on baptism day.

Other than Jodi, no one witnessed what did or did not happen because Jodi killed the only other witness. She can say whatever she wants because Travis is not here to challenge her.

Jodi is a liar, we know that. Aside from that, there is nothing at all about the anal sex/baptism story that makes any logical sense, especially when you consider what others have said about him -- others who have been in romantic relationships with him.

Maybe Travis had anal sex and oral sex with Jodi at some point, but it is not believable that he demanded anal sex on the day that he baptized her. Nor is it believable that he gave her oral sex the first time he was alone with her.

So, I'm glad to hear one of his actual friends confirm what seems logical and obvious to me -- the anal sex on baptism day is not believable based on Travis' personality and way of behaving.

And the question we all want answered, "If these upset you, why do you still have them however many years later?".

No kidding !!!

Only to be preceeded by

If they were texted to you, how did they end up on your laptop?

I know! Thanks Katiecoo! I was planning for Tuesday/Wednesday. My kiddo's have Monday off so I plan to be here with them to have some fun and head out Tuesday early morning, after I get everyone off to school! I am planning on driving back home early Thursday. So, I guess Wednesday will be the day. I'll cross my fingers and hope the universe is on my side for getting in!

Pasa- any advice? TIA

Hi Frigga,
Check my post upthread a few for parking info.

If the defendant is still on the stand chances may be better getting in as her testimony is getting old. If Martinez starts his cross expect it to be packed and difficult to get in.
That's just my take on it from what I've overheard others saying.

I'm hoping to get there one day next week, Tuesday or Wednesday most likely.

Guessing she just went to the restroom but who knows.

Brought this over from last thread.

The sister/twin was in the bathroom (my husband saw her go in). I saw the mom filling her water bottle but she went back in. I saw her again at break, but as far as I know she went back in as the hall was empty and we left soon after.

HTH

I'm still catching up here, but I just watched an ABC news clip with Dan Abrams, George Staphanopolous (sp?) and Nancy Grace. I was stunned what Nancy said at the end! She said that she is afraid the defense is going to work! She said she ran into so many women at the jail that sympathized with Jodi and believed she murdered out of self defense! Now granted...these were probably inmates or family of inmates, but still - this kinda shocks me. I believe with all I have that JA premeditated Travis' murder and it was NOT self defense.

sure, that's okay. I just wanted to make sure I understood that it's your personal evaluation of the credibility of the defendant and of a random unknown in the media that was the basis of your assessment.

I think you're being contrary and sarcastic ;)

My personal evaluation is based on the fact that Jodi is a liar who brutally killed Travis Alexander. She is testifying to save herself from the death penalty and will say literally anything to save her own life. Her account of the baptism day makes absolutely no sense and is not believable -- it seems calculated to falsely paint herself as a victim of a brutish pig of a man, which Travis was not, according to every single other account by anyone who ever knew him.

You are welcome to disregard those facts, and take Jodi's every salacious unbelievable account as the complete truth. I don't understand it at all because that seems to be a complete suspension of logic, but I'm sure you have very good reasons for wanting to dismiss every account of Travis, other than Jodi's.

Good night, all. Thanks for the thoughtful discussion.

That's what I call unreasonable doubt. ;)

High profile trials bring 'em out every time. Wheel squeakers.

imo

you know this person and know that what she's saying is true? And if you don't, you're saying that someone who may have lived with Travis for 30 days knows for a fact what happened on the day of her baptism?

i think here as in any trial there will be things that because the victim is no longer able to speak for themselves - that at some point you need to pick who you believe - the defendant, experts, victims friends and character witnesses, etc. - based on your gut, your opinion of some ones truthfulness, etc - and i think this is one of those times -

and imo jodi is a proven liar and story teller, compared to a friend of TA who seems that the were close,(which was confirmed by some one who was at the trial and spoke w/ her) and did know TA wasn't a perfect man, but did know his character
so my conclusion in this case based on every thing i have seen - is that i do believe TA's friend and what she knows about what his actions would be, as compared to the story that was told today

until every one is embedded w/ a video camera in their head that monitors our every move - nothing can ever be proven 100% - so this is the only we can ever proceed and make decisions

Good article.

But I still don't get it.

The Jodi I see I would not be able to tolerate for more than two minutes.

Does she think this is charming?

Or are there just too many variables and she can't hone in on a personna or what is the deal for her revolting performance in this trial?

Yeah, I forgot who said it, but someone here noted that she has to play to random strangers making up the jury. That's got to be rough for a psychopath. Then she is trying to pretend to be traumatized and meek. I think that's one persona she might never have played before.

I think it's one reason she keeps smiling too much. I bet she does the smiling, meek, giggly girl act very often in real life.

Charming psychopaths aren't nearly as good at serious, personal topics as they are about less personal charm. They know to compliment people, how to act like a really great listener. My criminal was as funny as anyone I've ever met in my life. They might throw great parties and discuss things really well (mine could hold awesome discussions about literature).

Meek, quiet, sad trauma patient isn't high on the list of what charms people, so I'm not totally surprised she's bad at that.
