Heidi, I am so sorry you've been going through this for so long. If one of my children went missing, I know I wouldn't give up searching for them either.

I read your story. You said the Stasi agent showed you his red card (when he came 2 hours after Dirk disappeared) Do you remember what that agent's name was?

Is there away you could dig through old records where drivers licenses, car license plates or car models may be listed under certain years?

do you think is possible not to find any traces,clothes,shoes,even a body in 32 years, if the autorities claim he is dead?
do you think a pathologist (Gerichtmediziner)can give me an answer?

no, I do not remember that name, the only thing I can remember, was the color, model and 2 first letters from the car

but first I do need to know all I do write in here can be read on the net?
for example on google or only people registered here can read it?
because I do want to keep these photographs anonymous by now, because I´m not sure it is my son

I´ve had some problems, my computer still has a virus and I had a "little accident" at home, my feet hurts now
First I would like to explain, someone has seen an article in a paper and saw some photographs that look like my son Dirk, the problem is ,that young man(supposedly my son) is the grandson of very important people and this is not the only bad thing.....I´ll explain later, <modsnip>

Heidi, I'm from Germany as well and have heard about your case before. I am around Dirks age and grew up near Göttingen (West Germany), ca. 80km away from the place from where Dirk vanished.
This is so sad, and I don't really know what to do, but I sincerely hope that someone will finally bring your son back to you or that he recognises himself on the age processed pictures. It is so frustrating with all the corruption in the GDR back in these days, adding even more trouble to your efforts to find your son :(

What do you personally believe where Dirk might be? Do you think he was taken to Moscow or is this just a guess and he might as well be still in Germany? Since it seems to be possible or even probably that he was taken to Russia - did you join Russian forums etc.? Did you promote your Blogs in Russia as well? I think that should be really important, especially with that age processed photo of Dirk.

And what about that photos you mentioned a few days ago? Did anything important turn out?

hello Maren, thanks for your support!
yes I can´t change the corruption unfortunately,I have no idea where Dirk might be, he was maybe taken to Russia and is now living in other country, or he was sold in Germany, I don´t know. Yes I do join Russian FB and did try to get to the missing show on TV but russians are not interested in finding missing people from other countries, the language is also a problem, since most russian do not speak english or other languages, I have tried everything I can with help some translators and some german people who can speak russian.
About the pics I ´ve mentioned days ago, I do not like to show them yet, because it is a private person involved who might no be Dirk, and I would not like to get in troubles.No news about it yet, but I will tell about it as soon as I can.

I do understand about the photos and that you want to keep this issue "private" for a while :)

It is so sad and frustrating to hear how difficult your search for Dirk is, as with Russian TV shows not been interested in the case. :banghead:
Absout the language problem, from what I know most people in the former DDR/GDR lerned Russian so I thougt maybe you too ;-) Sorry if I was mistaken! I don't speak Russian either, so I won't be any help I'm afraid.

I really hope the photos you mentioned might be a good clue to what happened with your son, although I understand this is difficult to handle in your case.

This article refers to employment files, etc. Maybe the change to the law loosens restrictions on other documents as well? Might be worth checking into, but I don't know enough German to do it.

Heidi, I have nothing much to add I am afraid, but wishing you all the best from Scotland here. That's all I can say really, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.
