long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Brought over from last thread:
I am watching HLN so way behind. Wilmott is reading Travis' "threatening" texts. If I were a juror, I would be longing to know what had triggered them. They clearly didn't come out of nowhere. And Jodi didn't journal about them, so again, her reporting is not trustworthy. My mind is boggled. What is JW thinking??
I was watching HLN too! (Husband had the nerve to want to use the computer!)

Those texts are NOTHING but a girlfriend and boyfriend having a fight and saying mean things. FTLOG you should hear me argue/fight with my husband sometimes. I am after all originally from the Bronx and my husband says the Bronx comes out when we argue.:blushing:

Amazing how consensual sex (regardless of how Arias and her defense are playing it off as "deviant" or if other's see it as deviant, people have anal, give BJ's, talk dirty etc.) and fighting with your boyfriend and "hurtful/mean words are spoken/texted is being blown WAY out of proportion and twisted into this BULL****!

OK, so Juan Kicked some donkey. In a major way. I am crashing from adrenaline.

I think from watching Jodi today, she is very much directing the show. At one point, she asked that woman lawyer if she heard that question the judge read...made sure she asked about it.

I'm sorry but I really hope the jury doesn't ask about psychopathy. Not from this Doc. In my not so humble opinion he couldn't be less qualified to testify about it. (Despite his 21 hour course in 'Assessing Psychopathy' in 2001. Probably too late to ask for a refund now.) The last thing the jury needs is misinformation and subterfuge about another psychological condition.

MOO

I doubt there's any mitigating factors to warrant saving her evil soul from the death penalty.

She isn't married; she doesn't have any children; she doesn't have any friends to speak of, except ex-cons; her familial relationships are strained at best, and she and her mother do not get along.

Did I miss anything?

Obviously you're not a mitigation specialist lol. :)

I'm not either, but I've worked with them, and I would say, for starters:

--she's been "abused" her whole life, starting with the wooden spoon and ending with mean old Travis

--she's somewhat deranged mentally and doesn't react normally to things

--she was really really in love with Travis and was under tremendous stress because he didn't love her back

--she doesn't remember killing him, so it would be unfair to punish her for it

--her family would be sad if she were put to death, and just when she and her parents were starting to get along...

--this was her very first crime

--no way will she ever kill anyone again--she's over that now

Juan: The numbers on these tests are different, right?

DR; Yes, I scored that twice.

:what: :what: :what:

This psych doc is really a conundrum. While I don't really believe he is infatuated with JA I think he was very interested in this case and did lean towards the defense since they are footing the bill. I just cannot understand why he would base his diagnosis on a whopping lie and also not have precise notes. All I can come up with is he is arrogant and felt he would not have to prove himself in court. It is very careless to say the least.

Good evening everyone!
:seeya:

Catching up on the highlights on HLN.....and Juan Martinez brilliant re-cross of Samuels.

:great:

imho: This stunningly awful and outrageous 'expert' for the defense is nailing Jodi Arias' coffin shut on her. I also wonder, due to his conduct in this case alone, how many complaints to his governing boards have already been made.

Someone here mentioned! That juan could! Report him for unethical practices.

Please don't tell me that wilmott can question this <mod snip> again! When martinez is done. Say it isn't so
:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

She can't.

Here I am

I hope Juan caught the Doc changing answers :) wouldn't that be sumpin'?

I KNEW he couldn't remember his original answers! Juan took his "raw data" crib notes. :floorlaugh:

Bringing this over...

The heights and weights are wrong. There were no ropes.
Thanks for the response. In what way are the heights and weights wrong? Also I realize some think there were no ropes including my wife. The testimony says there was albeit from the lying defendant. If there were ropes, why would she take only them and the gun from the scene?

Y'know how sports fans remember seemingly obscure stats for various sports?
Same phenomena, different topic ...

Quick ... what date was the phone sex tape created?
How many miles were on the rental car?
What was returned to Darryl at the beginning of the death trip?
What was Bobby Juarez wanting to do in San Francisco?

1. Don't remember the date on the phone tape
2. Enough miles to help prove predmeditated murder.
3. I don't remember
4. Vampire hunting (UGH! SHE IS SUCH A <mod snip>!)

OT: Hey guys, sorry for my snarky posts today. This Dr. & JW really irritated me! I somehow feel a bit calmer after 20 min of JM though! ;)

This is really not good for the book he is so obviously working on! :what:

New video on Hln nancy grace
Jodi telling Flores
She believes in the Ten Commandments and she says it doesn't say she should not fornicate.

While I wish Travis' family didn't have to endure the pain of losing their loved one, I will say they do have one true blessing. That would be Juan Martinez providing the justice Travis so deserves. Juan will prove she premeditated this and she will get the DP. It's pure karma.

:goodpost:

Would I be considered a sociopath if I said I felt absolutely nothing for any of these reasons? ;)

Here is what I do not understand...Why did anyone really think that a defense witness, even if he is a psychologist, is not going to be biased. Just the same if the prosecution had her evaluated, I would expect some bias also. It goes with the territory. I don't share the majority opinion that this witness is a complete dufus. SOme of what he said makes sense to me. I think it's possibly she truly does not remember the actual killing. I also don't think it matters. The evidence of premeditation is overwhelming. And I realize I am in the minority opion here, but I can not stand JM. I don't feel this is passion we are seeing..it's just over the top aggression. He has every right to go after wintnesses, challenge them ect. But he is insulting, demeaning and unprofessional. definelty suffers from a Napoleon complex!! If I were on the jury and if the evidence was not so overwelhming, he would have lost me weeks ago. I am surprised the judge has allowed such conduct.
