I thought about the possibility that she was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, hence the wigs and fake passports. What if mental illness lead her to believe that she was being targeted or followed? I don't know how difficult it would have been to get fake passports.

I wish there were a more updated photo of James, with his longer hair.

I'm about 80% sure that they did receive neck wounds. In the post mortem photo of Pam you can see what appears to be gun powder burns or stippling on the lower side of her face near the presumed neck wound.

Identified! Mystery couple murdered in South Carolina, 1976 - #7 Pam Buckley & James P Freund

I've wondered if Jock Doe could possibly be Robert Preston Hall, who is missing from Arlington Virginia in January of 1976. There aren't any photos of RPH, but the hair and eye color and approximate height match. However, the weight is off. Anyway, I'm sure it will be solved in the near the...

Identified! Mystery couple murdered in South Carolina, 1976 - #7 Pam Buckley & James P Freund

I think it's a big possibility that if one were identified the other could be as well, unless they met through traveling.

My admixture is nearly identical to Jock's. However, I am mostly descended from Scots-Irish and the Welsh.

True. I thought that if they did leave his remains there maybe they would put up an unidentifying marker of some sort. An "in memory" with a death date or something.

Identified! WA - Male: "Lyle Stevik", Grays Harbor, 17 Sept 2001 - #6 *name withheld*

I was wondering if his body will be relocated as well, and if it isn't I wonder if they will put up some sort of marker/headstone.

It could have possibly belonged to a boyfriend or love interest. When I was in school, girls used to wear their boyfriend's jackets.

Im not sure how I would feel if I were in the shoes of the family. I think I thought more about bringing her home in a metaphorical sense rather than a literal one. I wanted her to be identified, for her family to know, and for some sort of closure.

I wonder if she had any close friends? Anyone that would remember her and who she was possibly dating around that time period.

I know this probably will sound stupid, but I kind of thought that the injury on her forehead looked like an 'M'.

Did the police ever release what they thought created the injury to her forehead?

Do you know how far away from this specific area was she found? It looks kind of remote.

If the liver was lacerated and (from seeing the morgue photos of her head and neck) she was beaten severely, I would bet that she wasn't killed in a car or truck. A van perhaps but not a regular vehicle, because the confines would have been too small to allow for some of those injuries.

I personally didn't think that the lack of shoes necessarily meant domestic abuse. Sometimes when I'm a passenger while traveling for a while I slip my shoes off to be more comfortable in a cramped space.

I saw the recently released photo and cried like a baby. I'm beyond happy that she got her name back. I hope and pray that they find out who murdered her.
