<modsnip> I can't see any reason to believe that the investigation has had any problems. The police have the obligation to investigate the crime, gather evidence, and forward it to the DA for prosecution. Releasing details to the public, and outlining their evidence to the public is not an...

I think its very possible. The police want to keep as many details as possible between them and the suspect, to corroborate or disprove any statements he/she might make. The DA will want to keep the best "harpoons" to throw in court, etc. They've surely got a very small focus group of suspects...

Didn't realize it was so rural there. Still, wherever a possible suspect lives, it would be a matter of routine to cover any possible route that he/she might have traveled between home and the church looking for anything that might have video. Its certain that a car was involved, and the...

I watch some of those BBC detective shows, and am continually amazed at the amount of surveillance cameras that seem to be present in large English cities. I'm sure it is inflated, and over-convenient for these shows, but it does seem to be something not out of the ordinary. In the US there are...

I mentioned earlier, that it MAY be that they are trying to get a confession. In certainly appears that there were no eye-witnesses present, so a confession is the best way to secure a conviction. The "danger" angle could be aimed at someone who either knows or suspects who the suspect is, but...

As not much new is coming out, I re-watched the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUISKYJsJqw And wondered what others thought of a couple things: I've heard some think that at 1:40 it appears suspect is holding something like a box of plastic wrap. I'm sure its been discussed before I...

A confession, I'd bet. I can't remember the stats or provide a citation, but there are a fair number of cases that come across a homicide supervisor's desk that are ones that statistically/typically--or based on wide experience over the years--are going to need a confession to be a slam-dunk...

Just for possibilities: Its likely that the police, thru interviews know very much more than you'd imagine, and have for some time. If typical, they probably ran across the killer and have at least attempted an interview early on. It is essential that they keep some info extremely private for...

I get caught feeling wish-washy, too, even though I know I am not. This case is simply unusual in a very broad, general way. By that, I mean that any explanation or hypothesis that could be put forth right now involves elements that are just NOT typical in a homicide. Should the other woman...

I'm another new poster, drawn in by the classic "whodunnit" nature of this killing. Also a retired police officer. I've tried to follow these threads, but it seems impossible to keep up with all the info. I think the thing that bothers me most is the conflicting theories that go thru my mind...
