Hi Kemug, not sure where the daily mail got this quote from but it was a media quote saying SM was a fierce advocate for missing persons, pets and cars. Per the link above. So she sure was busy. Don’t forget the theatre and the running. Maybe there is more than one SM, a secret twin?!

Detective Willy, no offence taken at all as I’m still very open minded about this, all options are on the whiteboard. I am an engineer by profession and at university was taught how to workshop ideas, by a passionate much loved lecturer who used to say to us “never rule anything out or shut...

I still think we’re onto something Dotta, even serial killers have to get their start somewhere… - violent sexual assault - accomplice to murder - moved and hidden a body in a mine shaft - previously convicted due to phone pings (won’t let that happen again). If you subscribe to the violent...

EXCLUSIVE: A convicted sex-offender who has spent time in jail has been interviewed by detectives probing the disappearance of Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy. The local man, who has a long rap sheet and who A Current Affair has chosen not to name, is understood to have provided an alibi for...

Dotta I posted some links to this same Ballarat murder case earlier, IMO there are some interesting parallels to what possibly happed to SM, particularly body hidden in mineshaft. One of the accomplices who served some time but was released last year. It was the accomplice who accidentally gave...

<modsnip - quoted post had no sources> Samantha Murphy was a fierce advocate for missing people, pets and cars in her local community before she vanished without a trace. Link below. So SM may have been onto an illegal dog fighting ring, been trying to get it shut down and was targeted due...

I waver between - an attack by a predator (either stalked SM or was just waiting on the trails for a chance to pounce and SM came along at wrong time) - an accidental hit / run then cover up by someone SM was unlucky to cross paths with who has a lot to lose in that situation - or just a more...

IMO it’s reasonable to assume MM and perhaps kids, others were coming/going searching and checking the area from as early as 9.30am, for at least an hour or two before calling police around 11? And possibly some normal Sunday activity, eg maybe MM popped out for some milk and the paper before...

I feel like this would have happened by now, if the answer was so obvious. For example GBC had his house and office raided on Day 6, weeks before a body was found and he was arrested. The media and police heat on GBC was palpable from the outset. We are not seeing the same focus from police or...

Ps Dotta I need to learn. From your concise posts. You write so succinctly yet powerfully. Almost poetic.

I wondered the same but I would expect a business of that nature and size to have good CCTV and monitored security, they are responsible for a lot of peoples cars, and also have expensive paint, tools, computers etc on site that would be regular burglary targets. And so IMO police would have...

Well that show wasn’t so helpful! A disappointment to me. Nothing really new but was interesting to see footage of the trails, it’s more open and beautiful than I imagined. Not thick/heavy remote bush land. Interesting how others on WS thought the show was deliberately applying high pressure...

Hiding/taking the body after hit and run IMO makes sense if the car / driver was already engaged in something illegal, driving unlicensed, drunk or reckless driving, speeding, illegal drag racing, a drug run? Or if the offender was out on parole or already on the police radar for something else...

I think this is a big factor, the police may have a sound circumstantial case against someone (eg known criminal) but others (eg family) are inadvertently implicated although innocent. Or in fact that could also work vice versa. So police have to move particularly carefully and/or wait for iron...

Glad we have mods to “keep us all in line”… Just being cheeky. While I personally see this term as harmless endearing banter if used in the right context, I can see the points others are making in that it can also be a very harmful excusing term like a “boys will be boys” type comment, and/or...

Good find! Potentially SM disturbed illegal tippers and threatened to report them? They reacted, things escalated? When I see stuff like that going on I take a quick photo with my phone, try to get the number plate. Perhaps if police can find the phone there will be some good evidence! Seems far...

Agree we have inferred it was the half way mark, but it’s not a known fact although I think pretty likely as she seems to have 7km to get home by shortest route, and I’m going with the 14km distance SM reportedly announced at the dinner party the night before. Also if SM stopped for a breather...
