There is no fixed rule on this, so we don’t know. Sometimes this is disclosed early on and sometimes not, depends what is felt helpful for the investigation. I also note (not to be too graphic) some sexual gratification killers don’t sexually assault their victim or if they do, don’t actually go...
IMO whether it is likely to be random depends on whether the CCTV shows, as the Telegraph claimed (seemingly in a leak and not official), Sabina being attacked by someone directly after leaving her flat. I see what you mean, this may just be a video of a random guy turning things over in his...

This reporter claims one of KP’s children has spoken to her and she is not missing.
While there does seem to be a problem here, it appears this is a family dispute where some family members have been cut off from contact for some...
As I understand it, it is generally accepted that the standard of proof for an arrest for most crimes in the UK is, in broad terms, lower than in the US. That is one reason why asking Brits on ESTA waiver forms if they’ve ever been arrested, is seen by some to be a slightly unfair question...
For some reason there is something very scary about this image. My mind filled in all kinds of possibilities for something pixelated. From this video here though: I don’t think anything has been edited out, I think the video just glitches to worse quality for a second but I don’t have the best...
She has one of the least likely jobs I can imagine to be a cause for something as terrible as this, although I suppose it’s happened somewhere in the world.
This case is really puzzling me as it is a number of you and confounding various of my expectations. The second man being released is to be honest very strange. It makes it look like they have just arrested a couple of close contacts of Sabina, and seen what they could get out of them as I think...
I think this is one reason why the police say report everything that might be relevant even if it doesn’t seem significant to you. A lot of us can be seeing something important to a crime without realizing it. Two people walking down the street having a minor argument can look different later if...
While I do think there were other distinguishing factors in the SE case aside from race, including poor Sarah not being found for quite some days and the quite chilling detail of a serving police officer then being arrested (which then kicked up all the media frenzy further), I was quite taken...
I posted a couple of days about a family member saying that Sabina was “struck from behind” but hadn’t seen this in the news reports outside of the family interview.
BBC had the quote here: Sabina Nessa murder: Family left devastated by teacher's death in Kidbrooke (though it also has the...
Sky News have just reported the arrest of the 38-year-old as a “separate development” to the appeals for information about the man and car in the CCTV stills.
It’s true but Wayne Couzens did hire a car using information that would track back to him and was caught in it on at least one camera on the night in question. Then again he was taking SE outside of London and needed to transport her whereas SN was found right there.
True, it seems to be different men from the wording from the Met, but could be building a bigger case against one man. Two arrests already and an appeal for possibly another guy, this is unusual. Although the photos aren’t great, if you know that man personally I would say you could name him.
The Met appeal says “a second arrest” took place.
This seems quite specific, we know there was a first arrest of a man in his 40s a few days ago and I read the use of “second” being for that reason, but I could be wrong and they mean they have a suspect in custody and still appealing for...
It is hard to tell if the man arrested and the man in the stills are different, from the current reporting. Although the Daily Mail says “another” man, they’ve clearly pushed that article out fast and I am not sure whether we actually know these are two separate men yet.
Not to be too grim but...
The police not having enough evidence to charge a suspect is different to them not thinking he did it or liking him for it. They could have had a completely innocent guy here; he could be an ex, the new date or someone local the police have been looking at who it turns out has no connection, but...
It is not surprising that Sabina wasn’t reported missing IMO, even by the friend she was meeting. She was only gone overnight and was an adult, seemed she didn’t live with parents or partner so no-one to notice immediately her absence / failure to come home and if the story is as simple as...
Women should be allowed to walk around safely at any time of day or night and wherever they like, and I maintain that as a matter of political principle, not wilful naivety on my part… but in this case it wasn’t even late but 8.30pm (even earlier than Sarah Everard, and what are we going to do...
Some of the phrases the police have used suggest to me too that they may know more than they are saying.
For some reason, the use of the expression “short delay” re the timing of Sabina’s body being found strikes me as quite strange. I don’t know why but it sounds odd.
I find it interesting...
