Yup if the neighbor knew when they saw SM depart for a bike ride, I would have absolutely expected LE to know that information on day one and to have shared that with the public almost immediately.

It wouldn't be my first thought if my wife went missing.
But if I talked to investigators and they didn't immediately substantiate my alibi/clear me and started asking more pointed questions, then Id absolutely be looking for some sort of legal council
This seems like a good time to point out a reminder:
It take a lot of evidence to move forward with an arrest and prosecution in a no body case.
If they can't find SM right away it may take some time before we see charges for whoever is responsible.
But I do believe they are in the process of...
I don't have any clue whether this is whats happening in this case or not, but we have seen in previous cases where they collect things and send it to the lab and then find they need additional things to test.
In fact we saw it in the GS case, where they made multiple trip to the victims home...

There's no doubt in my mind that SM was targeted
The key is finding out why and by who
I think LE has a pretty good grip on this case and we will have answers soon
It's likely not all that complicated as evidenced by LE holding their cards close and not appealing for information from the public
If there was any evidence that this might be a stranger abduction then waiting 7 days to make a public plea was a huge mistake IMO
The first 72hrs in a missing persons case is absolutely critical in trying to locate the person as quickly as possible to have a positive outcome.
Unfortunately I...
