I don’t have a link to the article handy, maybe someone else does. But it is reported by Fox News in this audio (and discussed at length in earlier threads):
Tracking the Mollie Tibbetts Story
I took my 12 year old daughter to lunch today. We were having a typical conversation and then out of the blue she brought up the case that has been in the news with the husband that allegedly killed his wife and 2 daughters. (I can’t recall the names). So we discussed issues such as innocent...
No...she was last seen in her jogging clothes.
Ignore the info on the red shirt and denim shirts. The initial thought is that she went missing the next morning and that is the outfit she was going to wear that next morning.
I seem to remember early on he did characterize it that way. But based on general comments since then (he fell asleep with phone on his face without responding, tired not paying close attention) that he just interpreted it that way since at glance it seemed innocuous and it was when he was about...
I interpreted it to mean that LE was not sharing details with the family or anyone so that it would not jeopardize the investigation. Not knowing who was involved (family or otherwise early on), they didn’t want to potentially tip off the perpetrator.
The wording was a little bit strange, but...
I am guessing that the initial thought is that she went missing on her way to work the next morning (because at first the red shirt that she had to wear for work the next day - for a field trip- could not be located). Thus the denim shorts and the red shirt.
It seems that later 2 of Mollie’s...
I wonder if she logs into her U of Iowa network (for lack of a better term), how long it takes for it to automatically logout. Could it be something as simple as MT logged into to do homework, did not log out of the online U if I system, and after 30 min or 1 or 2 hours it automatically logged...
Did anyone see that KCCI (in Des Moines) is reporting that authorities will hold a news conference at 4pm central time to provide a ‘significant update’ on the Jake Wilson case? He is the 16 year old boy that went missing four months ago from a town about 50 miles north of Brooklyn.
I am guessing they are referring to the temporary tags dealerships issue when buying a new car. They are good for 45 days in Iowa, placed sometime where license plate goes and sometimes in window, depending on the dealer (but you are right...when we went to the county treasurer’s office last...
The only reason I can come up with is if they strongly feel that this is a person that is NOT from the Brooklyn area. If they think it was someone passing through town with no known reason to return, then the community would not be at an increased risk . (I doubt this is the case, but what if...
However, there is no death penalty in Iowa (that would be state cases). Capital punishment is an option if convicted on a federal level (although generally federal death penalty not nearly as common as on the state level).
It is my understanding that this was a 4-H/FFA fair without rides. Certainly there could have been people from out of town, but it is a small county fair with a talent show, music, and lots of animals. So not what you might normally think of when you hear ‘fair’.
Could someone remind me what time work notified the boyfriend that she hadn’t come to work? (Mid-afternoon??).
One possible reason for the delay in notification is due to the field trip going on that day. I am sure that day was much more hectic than most, with trying to get all the kids ready...
I supposed it would depend on what was on the video surveillance. If they saw the actual abduction, that scenario would be different than say, for instance, they see Mollie and the suspect together on video during the time they think she went missing.
It reminds me of the Blaze Bernstein case...
Just an honest question to clarify: Does whether they are immigrant workers make a difference in your analysis or are you just wondering about temporary seasonal workers in general (regardlsss of nationality) that don’t necessarily live in Brooklyn year round.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Generally I agree that rewards...even more substantial rewards...aren’t the great motivator some would hope for. Especially in a small Iowa town. However, if you do have drug addicts who saw something or knew something, $2,000 is a LOT.
