Identified! CA - Huntington Beach, WhtFem 457UFCA, 25-30, in field, Mar'68 - Anita Louise Piteau

Wow. I have never heard of this case. It has been a little while since the police or news media has reported anything new. It all sounded like was getting closer to being solved. I grew or in the Huntington and have lived here since the early 1970's. As another poster stated things have really...

CA CA - Jean Spangler, 27, Los Angeles, Oct 1949

I agree with you Maryliz. I always thought it was strange that he kind of jumped the gun with notifying the police. I always wondered why nobody ever mentioned that or thought it was fishy.

CA CA - Jean Spangler, 27, Los Angeles, Oct 1949

Wow... That story in your link is intriguing. Now I want to know the answer to this mystery. It's a few years old. Does the blogger ever give up any names in later entries? The dates may not march, but the story never really gave any concrete dates, did it? Is there any way that the girl...

LA LA - Belle Chasse, WhtMale 16-17, UP88342, hanged, suicide note, Feb'75

I just read this whole thread. This case is so sad. This boy must of been in so much pain. I believe he was probably gay and he thought suicide was his only way out. There seems to be so much of that going on these days. Such a waste. This seems like a case that should be reopened due to the...

UK UK - Emma Alice Smith, 16, Sussex England, 1926

This article is so vague. I really do believe this but, do they know for certain she eloped with this man? If so I would love to know how they were able to come to this conclusion. Just interested in the investigation. If they know this they must have more details about her life. Perhaps her...

NY NY - Dorothy Arnold, 25, New York, 1910

Thanks kokopelli1, It's amazing all the new information that has become available in all 0f these cold cases, since more of the old newspapers have become available online. I'm sure most of this information would have been lost to time if it weren't for the internet.

FL FL - Monica Libao, may have been abducted as infant, 1963-64

Thanks for the info dfirestone. Sorry I got a little confused, are you Monica's sister? Or at least grew up with your parents saying you are her sister?

NY NY - Dorothy Arnold, 25, New York, 1910

What a great find. This article really fills in a lot of gaps in the mystery. It's amazing to me to see the legnths wealthy people of the time would go to in order to not bring shame upon the family name. I agree I believe the family probably knew who the father was. He may have not been up to...

    OK OK - Sharon Marshall, 20, multiple aliases, OKC, 1990 - ID'd as Suzanne Sevakis - #5

Oops, I forgot about that. Sorry abot trying to post. Too bad that was such an interesting angle. If anyone is interested it is sometimes discussed on Matt Birbeck's Facebook page "A Beautiful Child"

OH OH - Ruth Baumgardner, 21, Delaware, 4 May 1937

It's just a shame, the truth most likely never be known. Each of these people seem to me of the criminal element who would say anything to save their own skin. I believe she was there, I just wish there was another witness (police officer?) that would come out and speak. Was there another...

PA PA - Beverly Sharpman, 17, Philadelphia, 11 Sept 1947

Funny, I too spent many hours reading about the Dahlia case. I even went as far as to do a little driving tour around LA and Long Beach to check out all of her old haunts. People thought I was crazy. This is another old case I would love to see solved.

Thanks marie-chantal, You really have a knack for finding these informative old articles. It's like a little trip back in time to take a peek into the lives of the key players in these cases. I have followed this case in the past and I truly believe she went on to live a fulfilling life on...

OH OH - Ruth Baumgardner, 21, Delaware, 4 May 1937

Unable to read the article. :( It just seems strange to me that it took them 14 years to figure out that the dates didn't match? It should have been the first thing they noticed. does that mean she never knew these people and really was missing? They must have found her if they knew where...

OH OH - Ruth Baumgardner, 21, Delaware, 4 May 1937

I wonder if someone could contacts some of these local papers to run a follow up story in their paper today? It could be kind of a local history piece or a where are they now kind of story. It may get some response from people that might remember the case or maybe a family member that would...

OH OH - Ruth Baumgardner, 21, Delaware, 4 May 1937

Thanks JeannieC for all your research.... I am so bad at that kind of thing... It seems to me someone like him would have been in and out of trouble his whole life, which should make it easier to track his where abouts. Unless, like Ruth he got himself mixed up with the wrong type of crowd and...

I wonder if Sereno was the high voiced man who called Ruth at the sorority house right before she disapeared.

Thanks for the article... It's still amazes me everything that is coming out of the woodwork! Wow that picture included in the article doesn't even look like all of the photos of Ruth. This paticular picture looks like Ruth at about the age of 40 or possibly her mother? I wonder if that is...

OH OH - Ruth Baumgardner, 21, Delaware, 4 May 1937

It's like fact-n-detail dropped by and gave us all the missing pieces we needed to move ahead with this case. I dont think he/she has been back since. Where did they go? We could really use resources like that. I wish the Doe Network and Charley would add these new findings to their pages, if...

Thanks for the article. I liked seeing the pictures of the suspects. Pictures always make these cases seem to come to life for me. I still can't believe all of us here on this site (especially the really experianced sleuthers) missed all of this during the early stages of the search.
