GUILTY VT - Melissa Jenkins, 33, St Johnsbury, 25 March 2012

The poster is a retired air Force guy. My reading is that he was a detective (but not listed as a current or former licensed investigator in VT)

Being a nursing student, she probably was aware of how fragile medical confidentiality is, especially when it involves someone within the profession. I can very easily imagine why an Amherst nursing student would want to get out of town for an abortion.

"She had hand written directions to Burlington in her car," according to her father (in letter posted elsewhere in this thread). Burlington is NOT where you'd go to reach a high peak in the Green Mountains. It's lakefront. She would have driven through the mountains and left them behind by the...

She left with an ample supply of alcohol, but IIRC there was no food found in her car. What do you make of that?

Found Deceased NH - Celina Cass, 11, Stewartstown, 25 July 2011 #11 *Arrest*

I see people attributing a lot of importance to the difference between someone going to bed "at 9 o'clock" with people still on the porch and the people on the porch leaving at "about 9 o'clock." Five, 10 or 15 minutes one way or the other could make both statements true. Doesn't exactly snap...

Thanks for those quote marks! I've been thinking about this case for years and it never occurred to me to question the assumption that she really was on her way to her father's motel that night. Yet now that you've put it in quotes, it suddenly seems very possible to me that she was headed...

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2011/05/18/person-of-interest-questioned-in-maine-mystery-boy-case/ Yes, Camden Pierce Hughes was found wrapped in a blanket... and his mother arrested. My intuition doesn't lead me to believe that LN killed her daughter, but the evidence isn't much stronger that WN...

Well... blood doesn't mean death... one or more slashes wouldn't necessarily cause death... just like being under water for days doesn't mean she drowned... that's why they do all the tests... Their caution makes sense to me.
