    Trial - Ross Harris #9

Someone earlier suggested the youngest juror (19?) single man/no children - might be less likely to convict as he didn't have the experience of being a parent. They also stated he might be more lenient with respect to issues of sexting. If he is the only one, do you believe he would stand up...

    Trial - Ross Harris #9

He looks quite young - younger than Leanna in my opinion.

    Trial - Ross Harris #9

Yes, but that implies a longer term, more strategic decision. It was a last minute (as in during lunch break) decision as far as we can tell. They were talking about a witness with 50 slides and then - poof - nothing burger.

    Trial - Ross Harris #9

(snipped) I would say at least by one important if not the most important witness - the renowned expert on this type of child death. We know they said they had 50 slides and that would most certainly be him plus we have the somewhat changed demeanor of the DT. Put me in the nosey column...

    Trial - Ross Harris #9

Maybe soon one or two of our attorney members will weigh in on pulling an expert witness at the 11th hour. He is from S. Fla. so I'm sure they had paid his plane fare, hotel, and hourly expenses. Probably there is a built-in provision that he gets paid all or most of the fee whether he takes...

    Trial - Ross Harris #9

Yes, and in fact, at one point I wondered if he might have a slight touch of Aspergers (very slight) due to his weird reactions, lack of reactions, and (at times) almost inappropriate talking (ie: chatting with officer in patrol car, chatting with other guy in holding room, overexplaining, etc.)...

    Trial - Ross Harris #9

This is the first trial I've followed since JA - and I'd forgotten how time-consuming it can become! I come home from work, listen to the testimony from that day - then find out how many pages behind I am on WS and try to catch up reading. Usually, it's almost 11 pm or midnight by then (oh and...

BBM - ok - what can we argue about next :happydance:

    Trial - Ross Harris #8

BBM - I agree - and I think the jurors who may be leaning that way would have "ammunition" so to speak to use to argue their position. I do not think Dr Brewer's testimony provides that due to the effectiveness of his cross.

    Trial - Ross Harris #8

Yes - I have sadly attended several children's funerals and never heard anything like that. Most parents are grieving about the *good* things that they will not experience in life - not see them graduate from high school, not see them attend the prom, not see them go to college, not see them...

    Trial - Ross Harris #8

Can you elaborate? If it is a "smoking gun" why would the State not have already used it?

    Trial - Ross Harris #8

I am racking my brain trying to come up with a plausible reason for Dr. Diamond to pull out or the DT not to use him. Because of the expense of an expert witness, there is a lot of thought that goes into hiring one. This usually includes the expert spending time reviewing the records. This...

    Trial - Ross Harris #8

WOW - That is a huge point I had not noticed before. LH stated they had 3 pets, 2 cats and a dog (iirc) so yes - why would he not say, "I would hate it if that was my dog?" I have 2 children and 3 dogs and I never would make that leap. If I saw a video about a dog in a hot car, I would think...

    Trial - Ross Harris #5

TexMex - OT - I love your dogs playing on the beach! It makes me smile every time you post. I took my tri-pod, Emma, to the beach this summer for the first time. She hated it :( Just wanted to lie in the air conditioned beach house. I had dreams of her frolicking like those two. She's her...

I had forgotten he did that...interesting...Anthony Weiner did the same thing - sent a photo with his son lying on the bed next to him. I *cannot* imagine how that is not some type of mental health/screw loose/twisted (or whatever you want to call it) behavior. sick!

    Trial - Ross Harris #5

I think they are more likely to be influenced as the walk out to their cars at the end of the day. It has been unusually hot in Georgia - mid 80's - I think we broke a record one day this week. So, to listen to the testimony and then to get into a hot car... I can't believe they don't think of...

I can't find the first post about JRH "hiding" things. So this may not apply to the conversation...but he did have his sexting apps "hidden" in a weather folder on his phone.

OK - I see that. I firmly believe everyone should learn CPR. You never know when you may be in a situation to save a life. The same with the Heimlich maneuver - This is especially true of parents. It's a simple course, often offered free or a very minimal charge by the Red Cross.

    Trial - Ross Harris #5

Maybe on the back of the head but normal CPR with chest compressions should not cause facial abrasions. Overly zealous chest compressions on a baby or small child could cause internal injuries such as cracked ribs if not done properly.

Yep! I think we can count on that. As someone said earlier, so much depends on the wording of the charge.
